CB500X – Solo Norway trip Part 36 – Picturesque German towns

Trying to round out a little bit my rear tire is so squared off the however many thousand kilometers down through Finland barely a bend the only bends really were um roundabouts we So we’re continuing Our For And over on the right hand side the little known pyramids of Germany it’s quite some he soil what it is it’s quite a steep road to the top pretty little village to trying to round out a little bit my r tire is so squared off the however many thousand kilometers

Down through Finland barely a bend the only bends really were um roundabouts just about nothing else was just completely straight and then didn’t really improve in Estonia looks quite big in comparison to the little one we just left is beautifully picturesque Rolling Hills I don’t think I’ve noticed those for quite some time

Really suppose we’ve been riding through I don’t know why I can’t find places like this when I’m sort of looking for lunch they petrol stations the whole time gr talking of which I had breakfast at a petrol station this morning coffee and a couple of pastries and uh 75 CLS of

Water while it certainly seems popular with bikes there’s an awful lot going the other way very s of cious route H I have no idea what that said apart from it was here and Europe and something maybe I’ll be able to catch it on the recording those trees don’t look very

Healthy both on the right hand side side you didn’t expect to see green that was quite sad right up to the skyline over the top around seeum it’s heat related well I’ve had a very hot few weeks I would imagine it’s been similar here then I don’t want to see

Him fixated on it but it’s really sad at the campsite last night across the lake there’s a huge Wildfire well it look huge manag to control it but imagine this not being just a Tinder B it’s a shame it’s still sort of picturesque ins s way welcome folks it’s Nick here I thought

I’d do a bit of an update review of my Honda cb500 X the 2022 model given that it’s now done just over 25,000 miles oh no sorry 25,000 km in just over a year that I’ve had it new so in that time I’ve told another little chocolate box town or puzzle covers

And all the old chocolate box cover was used to get pretty You might be wondering what I’m doing in a tiny little housing estate thing oh I’m actually looking for a guest house the campsites it’s the weekend it’s Friday night they’ve said I spoke to three campsites all full for the next two weekends and the week so must be the school holidays

Started so anyway hopefully up here somewhere is a guest house Oh convenient for the uh level crossing at that looks like there was a wedding or something going on back there here too I think this is the place pinching house stop that was it don’t know where I’m in to park so I’ll just uh pull up over there a

Bit so this one is more expensive it’s 48 Euros which doesn’t include breakfast breakfast is another €750 I’ll just wait here a Minute so I’m checked into the guest house I’m very nice it seems to very friendly owner and I’ll take the stuff in go for a walk around the town and then uh call it a night let me show you where I’m staying so it’s quite a nice Courtyard to

Have and then I’m on the ground floor which is super cuz of all the gear lugging around light’s poed under a cover and here’s the room really nice pretty spacious covered anyway so I think I said earlier we did 340 km today it’s a bit further than I’d anticipated

Doing and had to backtrack a little bit to come to this hotel it was only 15 kilometers or more um but anyway I’m going to shower take a walk around the town and then tomorrow figure out what the next VI points are anyway so what that leaves me to do is

Say bye for Now

This is Part 36 of my trip continuing the journey in Germany. I got up early and took a stroll nearer the town, managing to get some drone footage, before heading off, continuing west, through some beautiful German towns and villages. They remind me of the chocolate box lid pictures from my youth. I came through an area of very grey, pale brown trees, they looked completely dried out / dead, I assume dry, hot weather was responsible. I booked into a beautiful guesthouse in Bad Holzhausen, Germany and enjoyed a walk around the very tranquil town before turning in for the night.

The whole journey took me through the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and into Norway right the way up to Nordkapp, the furthest point you can travel by motorcycle or car in mainland Europe and then back through Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Belgium and France over a 7 week period late May – mid July 2023
I am back in the UK now, but please do add your comments and I’ll get back to you.

  1. Looking forward to the bike review. I did 13,000 miles on my 2019 CBX last year and it was faultless. Such a seriously underrated touring bike.
The money you save on fuel alone, against a litre plus adventure bike, pays for many hotel rooms 😁✌🏻
