Planning for JAPAN Q&A | (LIVE STREAM) Travel Chat #japantravel #japantrip #itinerary

Hey everyone welcome to ninja monkey starting straight away hopefully you can hear me um hopefully everything is okay just checking checking checking and for those of you who are new to the channel welcome I’m Nathan ninja monkey and I have a Sunday stream every single Sunday

Um I try to answer your questions Japan related travel questions there’s so many I might have some of the answers I’ll be totally honest if I don’t have the answers um I’ll I’ll be honest as you can see I am not in my usual place I actually have everything still set up

From the packing video basically so it’s um it’s just one of those days where I haven’t even had time to check um to to put everything back so hopefully you can hear I’m just going to check the the chat and I’m going to go through some of the not the rules but

You know some of the um the ways that we’re going to be doing this Q&A um let me just get this ready I was going I was a little bit um delayed today I’ve been working on that packing video it’s taken me 30 hours of work that packing video has

Taken me 30 hours of work but I hope it it’ll be worth it um I hope it will help a lot of people I hope a lot of people who are planning on packing will be able to get some good insights from it and um don’t forget that I also have another

Packing video that you can check out which have even more insights surprisingly there’s a lot to to to um there’s a lot to talk about when it comes to packing surprisingly who would have thought that um you could you could literally do so much on on packing so I was surprised

Myself okay let’s check everything is okay is the audio okay everyone all good all good good good good awesome awesome awesome um so yeah I I was um I’ve been wanting to do a followup to my packing video just because it was it was very successful and um to be honest I didn’t

Know how or if I could add anything but now that I’m actually packing I’m actually packing for a trip that I’m going in 3 days Time 4 days time I’ll I’ll be flying to Japan so um I have all my there’s a pile of clothes there there’s there’s

Some bags here as you can see um so it it is the perfect timing for a packing video and there’s so much to to to talk about when it comes to packing and I only sort of like repeated some of the things from my original video but very

Very slightly I think there’s a lot of um additional new insight and I’ve tried to um put my own spin make things easier to understand you know it’s been like I don’t know nine months or something since that video and in nine months I think I’ve improved on my editing I

Think I’ve improved in the my storytelling the way that I can present information so hopefully it will be a better video overall I think it is um so let me just um get to the chat and by the way if you want to um ask me a

Question which I’m going to get to in a minute then before you ask a question make sure that you like to help the video out it will help this this stream get to a wider audience um also if you haven’t watched my latest video please

Go and have a have a watch um and um and come back in in about 12 13 minutes time we’ll still be here don’t worry and if you have any questions then @ ninjam monkey and um I don’t know where I put it though but yeah at ninja monkey

Guy and um or just simply write question in big or big Q so I can see that um that it’s a question basically I I had a whole thing like like at the top like telling people to do I don’t know I’ve done with it all right okie dokie let’s get started sorry

I’m a little bit a little bit but um not prepared like I said I’ve I’ve literally been working on that video for 30 hours of the last four days or so so um all right let’s check out what’s going on over here thank you so much Niche for your

Super chat I don’t have anywhere to to write your name today unfortunately but hopefully the there will be something popping up an alerts because I do have alerts on um if it hasn’t already appeared it should so let’s see hey Joan I’m just going to go for some quick

Hells but I do want to get to the questions very quickly there we are Anish thank you so much um frog ladies in the house how are you doing have you ever tried wash and fold in Japan I have or have you always um budgeted sometime um I usually just do laundry

I’ve never really um have I done it I don’t think I’ve done it but I’m sure that there are many hotels that will have that um that facility you know 5 days amazing dude that’s like well there’s four days for me so um Bojo’s here good evening hello

Hello Japan Japan Japan sound is good hey Philip your I I chose your your question I featured your question at the end of the video by the way Omar hello hello hello toada I am forced back to Japan this summer there is no choice well I’m going to be there for six weeks

So just druming around evening from England Caroline it’s an honor to have you here today hello hello hello everyone um everyone from London nice Nick 10 days in Japan Tokyo 3 Osaka 2 Kyoto 2 um Tokyo 2 any ideas lots of ideas okay that that’s a question so we

Can start with that as a question but please at ninja monkey guy because it will literally um highlight your name and it will make it easier for me to to see if it’s a question all right question all right a big Q in France I know it’s a question um changes in Japan

Tok your 3 days I think you’re doing the right thing Tokyo two days at the end I think you’re doing the right thing also personally and then as for Osaka um um two and Koto to I think that you that’s very interchangeable not all I would

Personally not stay in I would stay in one or the other um out of preference stay in Kyoto and explore Osaka from Kyoto rather than than wasting time with a hotel if that with changing a hotel if that makes any sense and um you know include some day trips if you can

Although with 10 days and that itinerary I think you’ll be quite busy with um with those cities which are great cities and lots to do and lots to see so hey from Tokyo Niche from Tokyo just watch the packing video I love the what not to pack section awesome thank you

Yeah there’s there’s actually a lot of things that you don’t need to pack actually and also I think more important on that video is the essential specific Japan things I know that like a a luggage weight isn’t really a specific Japan thing but there are some very

Specific things I added in there like a whistle um which is incredibly specific to Japan um hello from me mile high city hey Texas cool cool cool I did hop on off bus wow nice now I will return go check out where I’d like to visit nice I

Mean that’s a good way of doing things you know you do a like a some kind of a of a route and then you know you go back and you spend a little bit more time in each place too many bags I’ve got loads of bags I’m back nine absolutely amazing

Days in Tokyo can’t wait to get there get back in eight weeks what to oaka Toba M next trip nice um hi Steven first thanks for watching I appreciate it cool and which video was it please what did Steven say have I missed something oh okay okay awesome

Awesome yeah and and on that note Japan Jaan Nan one of my moderators I do really want to shout him out I do really want to shout him out and he’s got a great Facebook page but he’s also putting out some some nice chill videos on YouTube if you’re interested in that

Please check him out hey Ro evil um so Banana fans thank you Nish because actually actually this I believe is my very very very very last toku banana before it get to Japan I might have one more in the freezer at the bottom of freeza but I don’t think so this is

Probably my very very last cooko banana I’ll have to search it to see if I have any other one anymore so thanks thank you for that Super Chat I’m wondering where you will visit my girlfriend is is going to drag me to Fukushima now nice um I’m actually going

To be visiting um places I’m going to go to Okinawa I’m going to be visiting um parts of kushu that’s most of my trip basically and Mia oh thanks Jesse I think on that note on the super on the um members note I’m going to open my C zero I really need it

I think I deserve it thank thank you so much um okay any questions real commitment Nathan like me doing my thing can’t think of anything else but my designs yeah I I love I love making videos and I also love I get a kick out of trying to put the information in a

Way that is easy to understand and a way that um Travelers can can you know grasp and understand and and feel more comfortable and confident when traving to Japan so after many many years and I’ve been looking back at my videos the last few days and I’ve definitely seen

The Improvement you just go back a year back the way that I talk to the camera is a little bit different the way that I that I um explain things are a little bit longwinded at times my intros can be a little bit long in my older videos and everything is sort of

Tweaked tweaked in the last few months hope to travel September 24 nice nice nice nice Indonesia nice welcome from Indonesia okay we’ve got a question here I can I can now see people are using the at or simply putting the big question um so let’s

See um I wanted to ask if you’ve visited in June before as my twoe trip is in then and my main concern was planning for the weather then I know it’s rainy season so what what to plan properly look I have a very specific times of the

Year when I can I can travel and June is not one of them unfortunately um I’ve always said this and I know that anybody who’s a follower on my channel for years now will know that I always say this and that is it’s better for you to go to

Japan they not to go to Japan at all and the best time to go to Japan is when you can go to Japan that is really the the golden golden rule the best time to go to Japan is when you can go to Japan and

The only time that I sort of say you know you got to be careful and even if you do you need to just plan very very well is golden week and maybe obon um and maybe in the New Year’s period which I travel um um during that

Period of of um obon and New Year’s period so generally I don’t travel in June but I have a good understanding of what June is like um and when it comes to it just follow my guide you know like June will be the beginning of of um of rainy season rainy

Season as the name States is rainy season showers it could be on and off showers so I think the most important thing to note is that it will be gener Rel relatively warm comfortable weather it shouldn’t be too cold and therefore as long as you have a waterproof

Waterproof shoes I would say it’s probably if I was traveling around that time of the year then waterproof shoes would be my priority in terms of an umbrella in fact I have the umbrella here from the video because literally I just been filming um umbrellas are available everywhere so I don’t pack

Umbrellas and I just buy one if I need one and that video that I just put out was originally something like 17 minutes minutes long and I’ve actually condensed it to about 13 or 14 minutes and all of that additional information I’m probably going to put together um as a as a

Special Patron video for SP for all patreon members just putting that out there um and one of the things that I mention in that video is the fact that um you can pretty much buy umbrellas everywhere like literally everywhere so what’s the point of carrying an umbrella

From home and one of the things that I also mentioned in that in in which I’m going to be mentioning in in that um patreon video is the fact that um I’ve I feel that Japan over forast Japan has the best forecasting in the world seriously it’s much better than

Here home um you can really get a sense and a good idea of what the weather’s going to be like in terms of the temperature specifically the temperatures are very good at that um and Rain however I do feel that they over forecast rain and sometimes they

Literally um say it’s going to rain you know but it might only rain for 10 minutes of the day for 10 minutes and I just feel that they over over like um forecast rain so just be aware of that thank you so much a little for your

Help man with no life much appreciate your support very very much and um thank you okay Ramy oh thank you have you realized that Chris Brad resembles you I am the o G cuz I’m older right so he resembles me and and I was talking to somebody about this first of all I’m

Sure that um Chris you know doesn’t care about me at all but and I’m sure he’s an incredibly nice guy um and he’ll probably laugh at whatever um but I’m the older one so he resembles me that’s what I say oh boy um I don’t want to get into

That right now okay let’s get into some more questions um remember at ninja monkey guy or um or quick question chill Nation hello thank you for doing this going to Japan in a couple of weeks you’ve been very helpful thank you I I hope I can

Continue to be helpful um and I think that a lot of people do return to go to Japan so please take an umbrella please buy an umbrella um can you suggest the best way to get from kosan Mount Coya to c s thank you look I’m going to say this

Straight out I I I’m I can tell you that that um I can give you rough ideas of how to how to do things but I’m not Google Maps I don’t have a map of Japan with with um all the roots in my head in

My brain I would have to go onto Google Maps and and search for The Roots the mo most likelihood you’d have to get down to Osaka and then and then um transfer to wherever you want to go but um Google Maps is very easy to use just go on

Google Maps set your destination you can even set a date for the future and it will give you a good idea of of um of what to do hey thank you so much for being a member for 60 months and will there be Okinawa live streams I’d love

To make it down there someday yes of course of course well I hope so anyway I haven’t even asked Aura mobile what what their reception is like in um in Okinawa what I can tell you is that I will be live streaming as from Friday this week

In few days time I will be live streaming on happy guyin and as for what’s going to happen on the Sunday stream this Sunday stream um I cannot commit but I am going to try to do a Sunday stream I’m going to try and wake up early in the morning depending on

What I get up to the night before um and actually do something either out on the street where I answer your questions or from Ninja monkey or um or from my hotel room so I’ll try to sit an alarm thank you so much for all your information and videos you’re very welcome M

Cohen I hope that they’re useful and um if you have any anybody that’s listening to me right now if you have any what’s been your favorite sort of video tip guide Style video that I that I’ve done for the channel out of curiosity let’s see okay some more

Questions n monkey guy any thoughts on bringing your own Chopsticks is it rude weird disrespectful unnecessary um I don’t think I think it’s unnecessary considering that you’re in Japan and it’s it’s the land of Chopsticks right um there’s no need need to to take your own Chopsticks will people worry or find

It rude or whatever I don’t know I don’t think so especially as a as a Westerner and as a tourist you’ll get away with so much more than you can imagine um so generally I mean also some of the one thing that I cut out of the video is the

Fact that I actually say you know like um about wearing shorts and t-shirts is okay um just pack something that’s a little bit more smart casual just in case you see you see the need to wear some trousers or some pants if you’re in the states um generally I think the main

Rule to that I’ve noticed after many many years of traveling is at the beginning I used to be very very conscious and very worried of what to wear and whether I should wear shorts or not wear shorts in Japan but now that I’ve traveled so many times ultimately

You are a tourist that that is that’s the fact is that you are you are a tourist and you know you’re not going to go into a nightclub wearing shorts you’re not going to go into a fancy restaurant or sushi place eating um you know wearing shorts and t-shirt or

Whatever um in the evening but during the day it’s absolutely fine and in the evening if you’re just out in the street and sort of doing your touristy things then shorts and t-shirt is absolutely fine um just one one thing that’s very important is just that that the tourist

Trum card or whatever that special tourist card it exists you can get away with many things no that doesn’t mean that you should and thanks oh oh yeah I’m a little bit delayed okay that’s a good sign for me to hurry up then the real reason is to stock up on

Too banana and there’s so many new too banana things I can’t wait to try do I have any recommendations for Modern Art shopping in Tokyo or Osaka can be District or shop you know what I really don’t I’m I I mean the closest I’d get to Modern Art is probably um

Team labs to be honest which I’ll be there in a week a week today I’ll be in team Labs um now I think the best thing to do is just to to head over to some um galleries some museums and galleries okay another question greetings from Detroit leaving an 18

Days for twoe trip I plan to pack only a week worth of clothes and do laundry any recommendations on how many shirts pants Etc to pack look my recommendation is going to be for you to watch my latest video um I think if you’re going to be

Going for 2 weeks then pack for a week and for me that will basically be five probably be be like three three things below my waist and maybe four things above my waist including a jacket that would probably be be me if I was in your in your

Position and do laundry and obviously and we right hey you’re very welcome I’m glad I’m glad yeah it’s worth I think um I think if I had to spend any money on on on clothes I would definitely definitely go um and spend the money on some good shoes you know comfortable and shoes

That basically can um can be waterproof preferably okay I’m flying from I’m flying in I’m flying to Osaka in the 20th of April does it worth to rush to the north and catch the zakura or is it lost hope I don’t well it’s up to you your priorities

Um look around that time I’m guessing that you’d have to go quite far enough and actually you could see this as a as a really good opportunity to see some of the less visited like tourist areas of Japan for example moroka which was actually voted as the world’s top um

Tourist destination by the New York Times last year great little city very walkable and actually supposed to be very very beautiful during Sakura season everybody tends to stick to Kyoto Osaka and Tokyo and the surroundings so you can actually beat the crowds in a way

And um and and if I were you I would actually do it not just for the Sakura just for the for the whole fact that tohoku is a great great region and you should definitely check it out um are you wearing an orange shirt so we don’t mistake you for Chris Broad why

Why boy oh boy morning good morning hey there Katherine says apart from hakone and niiko what Tokyo day trip would you personally recommend thanks for the videos my husband and I appreciate them greatly well thank you so much for the Super Chat normally I’m not in this room this is my living room

Which I set everything up for the video that I just put out normally I’m in my studio office and um I usually write people’s names back there but I appreciate it now Catherine there’s plenty of interesting um interesting like day trips I would recommend that are not hakone and Niko

Including enoshima Island which I think is a very very quaint unique nice Island um and it’s less than two an hour and 15 minutes away from Tokyo Tokyo probably Kamakura is another great day trip that I would recommend from Tokyo you could also do Yokohama if you wanted to

Yokohama Chinatown is quite a cool place to explore um and depending on when you’re getting there the gandam is that’s going to be closing down will be closing down um in the next few days unfortunately um that’s a pretty cool attraction then there’s some other places that you might want to check out

Such as ashikaga ashikaga I I say ashikaga because I spent a few days there and check out my ashikaga guide because it is really really really really off the beaten path with with not many tourists going and one of the great things about ashikaga is in May

Specifically in May is that um you get um some of the best Wisteria in in Japan in the ashikaga flower Park which I have never seen um because I’ve never been able to travel that time of the year but I know it’s spectacular so I hope that helps you with some ideas

And thank you for those of you who have supported me right let’s see going for questions okay um what’s the official website to find um train schedules and prices I am trying to see if Jr is worth it for me but I found a bunch of third party

Websites I mean the the official J Japan Rail Pass net is the official website and actually probably the one that I would mostly recommend because it gives you the the the access to actually book um your seats reservations online if you do go for a Japan Rail

Pass thank you there for the reminder um before I go any further I just wanted to say two things that I want to mention number one this is quite a big sort of announcement that could really benefit those of you who are watching now or those of you who are watching on the

Replay and that is that um um I have access to two Formula 1 tickets that a friend is trying to sell um due to to unfortunate circumstances they won’t be able to go to Japan but they have two Formula 1 um tickets so if you have been

Dreaming of going to Formula 1 in Japan um then send me a p private message on on Instagram or send me a private message on on Discord um and and I’ll put you in contact with my friends and um maybe you can sort something out okay

So just let me know if you’re interested in Formula 1 tickets all right and the second thing is I wanted to highlight my friend Drew who’s got lung cancer and thankfully he’s out with the hospital right now but he’ll be returning so I want to support him check out his

Channel and um we can also support him financially too that would be great back to the questions I have I have I stayed in the in the gracery hotel um and it was nice I just thought it was a little bit out of the way and actually I’ve now the sort of person

That feels that I would rather go for location rather than than a specific Hotel um for me being close to a tra like a like a train station Hub and I mean like close less than 10 minute walk that is what I am talking about for me

Personally especially I in Tokyo the yam line i’ like to be near the train station at least 10 minutes or minimum 10 minutes walk because I’m just lazy oh boy right going for the questions I if I missed you I apologize um only going that time and

It’s the best in terms of our DPS and things we’ve been planning this trip for years you’ll be fine you’ll see hey CH Sam is in the house here this guy is you know what I’m going to say something I made a vlog with with TQ Sam and I’ve been

Trying to edit this thing for the last five five um weeks or so um because I went to an American football match but because this guy is such a such a cool dude and he’s such an interesting character um I I don’t know what to do

With the footage because it’s so like my channel is so family friendly that I don’t I have I can’t do anything with it there’s so much swearing on it maybe you’ll end up like a a special Patron only video or something also dude I met up with

Another UK guy named Kai Planet he has a lot of alcohol connections here so you should get in contact with him dude I think you guys will get along cool yeah I would love to get along with more people and meet new people thanks I got

M and if you take an umbrella from home it will probably end up destroyed probably all right any more questions I’m going for questions um I arrive in Nita airport at um 3:25 is it reasonable to book a flight for oaka at 6: 30 the same day or might it

Be too short time um well to be honest the problem is what happens if there’s a delay um at your end or like you arrive 2 hours late which can happen then you have a problem I mean if you were to arrive at Narita specifically at that

Time you need to factor in at least I mean on the safe side at least I would factor in an hour and a half to go through um to to go through customs and all that so yeah any more questions remember Q or at ninja monkey do you need to pre-book normal

Trains and buses aside from the bullet trains not no in fact there are some trains you cannot book so some some of the commuter trains um you cannot book any questions remember Q or at ninja monkey guy oh we’ve already done that one those thank you thank you thank you

Any jet lag tips um you know what my my tip is if it’s the first time that you’re going to Japan you’re probably going to be so overstimulated with everything that you’re not going to care um if you do wake if you do arrive very early in the morning then my

Suggestion is like try to have a little bit of a nap maybe when you’re check in at 300 p.m. but no more than an hour like like have a nap for an hour wake up at 4:00 4:30 and then be out the door and try to stay out up till at least 10:

P.m. the quicker that you reset your your clock to to the local time the better don’t waste time drink do you need a reservation for the Pokémon Cafe um usually yes Pokemon cafe you do need reservation although there is a like a special Pokemon cafe that’s a little bit different in sunshine City

It’s a Pokemon like popup Pikachu Cafe which is made in a way that you can get some Pokemon um like snacks to go rather than sit to West to um restaurants off for Western um cat not depends it depends there are have been some restaurants that haven’t had um Western caly

Hey you’re looking for a pocket Wi-Fi King Slayer I would like to present to you my affiliate link with Sakura mobile it’s a way of supporting the channel and I could tell you that they’re a great company and that they I I always have good service with them and that’s

Basically who I use you can also get the the information directly from my website www.nj.com and you can just click on my affiliate link to help me out all right more questions um any tips on how to make my daughter not want to come with me next time I go to

Japan um will it be difficult for myself to buy clothes in Japan I’m 42 in waste and was wondering if I could pack less and buy a couple of things whil there larger um size clothes can be a little bit tricky but not impossible but I am

Going to be honest it can be a little bit trick tricky and even I traveled with a friend and he wasn’t super large he was I’m I’m sort of like a medium size here which is the large size in in Japan and my friend was like an

Extra large which made him like an extra extra large in in in Japan and um there were quite a few times that he was an able to buy like the the t-shirts that he wanted um just because they didn’t come in his size um or they would say

Yeah we have it but you have to go to another store so it can be a little bit of a pain I’m going to be honest there is there a short bullet train trip from Tokyo I could do yeah you can go to Oda um is a nice little Onsen town it’s

Sort of like the gateway to hakone um and it literally going to take you 30 minutes to get from Tokyo Station to oada and um and it’s got a nice little um castle like traditional Japanese castle and if you want to get a little

Bit of a shinon fix yeah you can do that Al alternatively you could I mean really is there a a short bullet train trip well really you could go from Tokyo Station to to shagawa station if you wanted to which is like a three minute ride let’s

See I would advise to pack light bring comfortable clothes I would refrain from using local trains with anything bigger than a cabin case yet and no luggage during PE time I I highlighted um this question pretty much this this um tip on my last video because it is is bot on

It’s basically what I would say thanks for the Drew um for linking Drew’s Channel everybody who’s watching it would really mean a lot to me um to go for you to just go click on Drew subscribe send a little message saying hey I subscribed ninja monkey

Send me um and don’t forget to like this Formula 1 is in two weeks indeed so yeah if you do have any questions if you are interested in Formula 1 tickets I have access to too so did you do a Tempo stay in Coan yes I did and did I

Recommend it absolutely 100% it’s literally one of my most favorite experiences that I’ve ever had in Japan I swear I am dying to go back I just have so many other things that I need to do um I really even wanted to fit it in this year again because I do actually

Have a really old Vlog it’s probably like 2016 or something 2015 when I went and it was incredible and my biggest highlight and my biggest recommendation for kyaan is for you to go for a walk through the um through the cemetery or through the graveyard at night they

Light it up with little candles or whatever and um it’s really really really magical really beautiful and um when I went there were even like flying squirrels like flying over it was it was just like incredible it was like walking through through an anime I swear okay

Questions our trip will be um 14 days Tokyo Nago nice kazawa Kyoto any not to suggestions for visiting I think you got a really good good itinery that takes you a little bit away from from the general um sort of um like route which is usually Tokyo Kyoto and Osaka and if

You’re going to go to Nagano you might want to consider going to Matsumoto at least for a day trip and some of my favorite locations like sort of on the rsh um to Kyoto from from the area from kazawa include takayama which I think is an incredible um little town every

Single time that I recommend someone go to takayama they come back saying that takayama was their favorite part of the trip and there’s also um kurashiki which is sort of it’s in Hiroshima but um or Hiroshima there you go um lot there’s so much to do you’re going to have to

Return to Japan basically any more questions I am just trying to go for questions everyone remember yeah thank you JJ um just remember to please start with a q or at ninja monkey and that will mean that I I can see that if it’s a question or or

Like in this case question almost coming up to a year sober anyone have any ideas about the availability of Nan low alcoholic drinks um to be honest I I’m not 100% sure on that question but but I’m going to be there in the next few days and I’m going

To be keeping a a lookout how about that personal personal um little Lookout there to your son this is the family friendly chat this is exactly why I can’t put out that Vlog guys give this guy some love his his content is absolutely not familyfriendly but in terms of

Entertainment and in terms of him being a character and a great fan channel to watch I totally recommend it do you actually do the tea time every day um yeah pretty much yeah kind yeah kind of yeah um where did you get the best eeky stamp books on Narita Airport so we can

Start stamping right after landing um I don’t do the whole eeky stamp book just because I don’t have the patience for it but You’ probably be able to get one in Narita Airport but if I were you and if I was really serious about it I would

Just buy one online and take it with me so I don’t even have to worry have you ever done a temple stay yep I’ve just spoken about it absolutely hey James if you see me please say hello be pretty cool um I love it when people stop me in the

Street and they’re like hey ninja monkey oh hey packing guy which is the latest one which historical Japan person do I do I admire the most I really don’t know the answer to that things to do in h airport for 10 hours my one friend and I land at 5:00

A.m. but the rest of our group don’t land until free dude you’ve got 10 hours get out of the airport you can literally go from Han from haneda in get the monor rail and in 20 minutes you can be in h matu which is very very very close to

Tokyo Tokyo Tower and explore that area and then got then literally pop back back on the monor rail and you know no problem we are going to attack and CA but we are not sure if we should rely on Lage storage or if it’s worth having a

Home base Airbnb in Tokyo where we would leave a luggage for 6 days that’s a good question and it’s one that I am investigating a little bit more um I I get lots of questions regarding Airbnb and Luggage forwarding and Storage storage luggage and I I have a vague

Idea and a vague understanding of of answering that question I’m going to be honest um and the reason why I’m not 100% certain is because I don’t do a Airbnb now I know that you can um do some luggage storage with with Yamato for example however if you’re going to

Keep it in a in a um in a locker a locker is usually 24 hours maybe 48 hours no more than that so and if you want to forward I mean I would have said probably you could inferior forward your luggage to your next hotel but if it’s an Airbnb it

Makes it a little bit harder my latest um tip that I put in my latest video was if you’re going to stay in a hotel this is the this is something that I do let’s say the first four or five days I’m staying in a hotel in Tokyo and let’s

Say that I Trav I’m going to be traveling for for a week somewhere out of Tokyo and then return to Tokyo I will ask that hotel if it’s okay for them to hold my luggage for a week because I’m returning and I have a reservation with them and usually they are absolutely

Fine with that so that’s something that you could consider coming from Australia and I’ve noticed differing opinions about which airports to fly in and out of what’s your thoughts you know what I I I think it’s like Pepsi and Coke you know like some people like

C some people like Pepsi um is it such a big deal if if if you drink Coke if you drink Pepsi no not not at all and I think that Hannah airport and Narita are pretty much that like um you’re going to Japan it doesn’t matter as long as you’re arrive it’s fine

Thank you so much Lenny let’s see I’m using mobile now and I can’t fault it such a good product awesome awesome awesome any more questions I am going I am on the lookout for for questions by the way yep there you go Bojo pigeon any more questions

Will you be in Japan um in October early November yes probably I haven’t book those flights yet but in most likelihood I will be in Japan at the beginning of November probably probably yeah how long are you Le in to Japan for I’m leaving in two days for three weeks

I am leaving in four days for nine days or eight days it’s not a very long trip but then I’ll be back in summer for six weeks so Eggman cool when can I see Fuji best s 71 okay Fuji I’ve mentioned this many times and

I think it’s an important one to to you know address and that is that Fuji is known as a shy Mountain it is some occasionally very difficult to find to to get a good view um in the winter is probably the best time to for you to

View um Fuji as from I would say after spring at the end of spring all the way to the end of summer it becomes increasingly harder to see M Fuji the I’ve seen Fuji from places even from Tokyo you know from the in the distance but even enoshima I’ve seen Fuji from

Enoshima from hakone from Kamakura and obviously kaag which I have a whole Vlog which I haven’t actually put out about kawaguchi um to get to takayama you probably need to start unfortunately to get to takayama you probably need to look at um spending some money on a bus

It is usually the quickest way to get to to takayama but you’d have to double check like I said I’m not I don’t have Google maps in my head so it’s difficult to answer any more questions any more questions yeah don’t forget to hit the like button everyone an important statement

There there you go um if you’re flying domestic how early do you need to be at the airport and the airport um it all depends on on the airline I’d probably be there 2 hours earlier probably just because I’m me hey Lisa by the way if you have a

Question just don’t spam it you know I’ll try to get to it eventually how many countries have I visited and do you think is it possible to visit all the countries of the world um I visited quite a few countries loads a lot of countries in Europe obviously and in

Asia it’s been Japan Vietnam Cambodia Thailand um and Korea yay SN battle reports anybody who’s interested in war stuff this is the the channel to go to it’s my cousin does a great job of YouTube also 84 people watching if we all gift one gifted membership we can gift ninjab

Banky a total of 75 new members that’s too much that’s too much muths in my head dude but thank you for that comment already miss a place I am like I like that I I’m I’m yeah I’m like that also ninja monkey guy I’m looking to be

There from the 1th of October to the 7th of November not booked yet we’ll do so in the next few months hope to catch you when I’m there yeah um like I said I have this trip coming up in a few days time I have a trip over the summer for

Six weeks I don’t tend to have more than two flights to Japan at a time I’m not a mad person so let me get through this trip and then I’ll start thinking about about the October one hey Lisa absolutely man he’s my friend and and I want the best for him

So daa card work on all trains ambass the answer is no not quite um there are some regions where the WEA or icy cards do not I just not accepted and on public um transport especially more rural places it’s a little bit more rare though but for example I know that

Kazawa is one of them kazawa the basses have the two main Loops one of them accepts it the other one does it doesn’t um so just be aware of that um and as for um using S or IC cards on the train like the shin Canen train you cannot

Really use the the the sua card for the shinkansen but you can use swka to purchase a physical ticket for the shansen so it’s a bit complicated question why are you so handsome also did you mention that Anna is getting rid of the self checkin stuff and also do

You ever feel guilty about being so much more handsome than other men oh boy I feel guilty every day I wake up in the but recently I’ve had a bit of a problem you see because the somebody who’s more handsome than me than T Sam my boy and that is um a broad

In Japan Chris who apparently I am an impostor because I look like him apparently according to some of the comments from some of my videos people have said there’s even a Reddit about it which is kind of crazy you know about how I’ve stolen his face cuz yeah hilarious stuff and um

I haven’t I’m going to look into that um Anna I don’t know everything getting rid of the self checkin stuff cool I will keep I will look at that I look at that what is my recommendation spending the entire 10 of 14 days in and around Tokyo when bringing children under six

Well I can tell you something or would you say it’s worth it to try to visit Osaka for a day or two well I can tell you from my experience um in 20 19 summer 2019 2018 anyway I visited Japan with my friend Sarah and her two kids um she’s a

Single mom she wanted to go to Japan and um I said hey I’ll help you out I’m going to be there I can spend you know like 10 days or whatever with you and the kids the like my nephew and my niece anyway and um so Neeve was four at the

Time and Finn I think was nine or 10 at the time so I can actually give you some firsthand experience and that is that we did we actually did um Tokyo and Kyoto that was that was it Tokyo and Kyoto and a few little mini day trips so

Absolutely you know you can get out of of Tokyo with kids there’s a lot to do a lot to see um and yeah six and six can be a little bit young but I don’t think it’s a problem at all there’s so much so many things to do so many things to see

You’re just going to have to sort of pace yourself a little bit when it comes to um to you know staying your bases not having too many bases to a banana time frozena castle um to a castle I I’ve got a whole video about it it’s

The um a wakamatsu right um yeah it was nice it was really really pictures from the outside but it is one again it’s very similar to the O Castle it’s sort of like a modern replica if that makes any sense it was nice since typic is not customary in Japan

Would giving out small gifts be acceptable and what about what would be appropriate and to whom look giving gifts I think I do it but I do it very specifically I’m not going to give a gift to anybody who I would tip normally like I wouldn’t give a gift to

A taxi driver I wouldn’t give a gift to a waiter um I wouldn’t do that and in terms of of um of gifts like small tokens things that I carry with me are usually postcards um but those are more like conversation starters if I’m sitting isaka and I’m I’m sort of like

Sitting next to somean and we start talking and I’ll show them where I’m from from a from a postcard that will start the conversation even more so that sort of works really well and in terms of like giving giving giving actual gifts like I haven’t given too too many gifts I’ve

Given gifts when I’ve stayed in very specific family run rians you know where they the service has been topnotch and I’ve sort of like um brought with me some tea or whatever from some British tea to give them um if I do a specific course or a like a

Cultural event like if I’m going to be doing like a Potter Workshop or some kind of Workshop a cooking Workshop um that would be another one that maybe I would I would sort of give a little mini gift but you don’t have to go around

Giving gifts to people um in lie of um of tipping cuz it’s just going to be a bit weird they work all across um Japan mainly question are the food and shopping before after security there is food and there is shopping both before and after um security at tened

Airport just be aware it depends on the flight time if you’re leaving your um like in a late night flight you’ll find that some of the restaurants start to close and it really sucks hanada sucks for that FL in Japan I know right how dare me I think my accent’s very different to

To Chris’s accent also so I don’t know hey to zero time I want to visit d n to Thailand to S would it be difficult to get Visa for Danang I don’t know cuz that’s not doesn’t seem to be a Japan question sorry boy oh boy good evening good evening good

Evening just roaming about just roaming around I can’t even say it I did this at the cafe I ate at every morning for two weeks I bought them all a big box of lint chocolates on my last day in Tokyo the game me free dip drip coffee and

Free scans yeah this is the reason why you’ve got to be quite selective with um when you do give gifts because occasionally if you do give a gift a Japanese person will feel obliged to give something back um something you know which is why I highly recommend

That you know a postcard is a little bit different especially if you’re in zakaya you’re talking to somebody or if you’re in the train and you sort of start talking to somebody and you can give them a postcard they won’t go feel that they need to give you anything really um

But you got to be a little bit careful because if you do give a gift like a substantial gift they’re going to they’re going to feel feel they have to give something back to you um which is why I say you know usually when I’m traveling

I sort of know I’m going to be doing this activity therefore I’m going to take a little gift for this activity I’m going to be doing this activity so therefore I’m going to take a little gift for this activity and so on no zips no tips

Please yeah definitely if you like um if you do like night life and drinking and all that then you might want to stay around in an area where you don’t have to worry about the the um the last train you know that’s the main Issue a collab video with you both pretending to be the other will be fny Nathan and Chris I mean Chris if you’re watching this contact me as a fellow incredibly handsome man like you I am constantly hit on by women in the the street will it be considered rude turning down women in

Japan or should I just date everybody I think you should just date everyone um everyone if you get the chance just don’t don’t don’t let anybody find out hey everyone and monkey crew hey yeah I mean like like Tio Sam’s comments are only like and I can tell

That he’s he’s toning them down for the chat he’s toning them down for the chat um every occasionally when he’s um streaming and I am awake when he’s streaming it’s very early in the morning um I go on to his his live streams and it’s just like a I love it I love

It he’s got a present I don’t do I have a second Channel yes I do actually thank you so much Japan Japan Japan my second Channel is happy guyin please check it out because I’m going to be streaming from there on ason Friday for the next week

Um so check it out from the streets of Japan streaming and who knows maybe TQ Sam will appear in one of my streams how about that right thanks for the remainder what’s up what kind of bring a girl from the United States that will make her happy girls like Chocolate um TQ Sam is the legend and he is here and I met in a few times and I was mentioning how I actually have a whole Vlog with him but I can’t put it out because it’s not family friendly I saw I’ve spent like the last five weeks with

That project trying to figure out what the hell to do with it it’s um yeah we could both be we could both get cancelled you’re in a quiet tast nah man you’re you’re a cool dude man especially you know like like it’s always good to meet people in in in person

Do not give her dude let’s get back to the Japan travel questions okay things have sort of deviated bit crazy can you jump in my suitcase and come with me sure come jji it’ be cool damn right o good question why are hotels better than Airbnb well that’s UPS up to

Your preferred um Choice obviously I’ve got Japan Japan ban who’s a Airbnb dude and he gets some incredible Airbnb like offers and and great accommodations he’s showing me pictures for me personally um for me personally it’s about not having to worry about cleaning after me not that I’m like dirty or anything um

It’s about that it’s about having fresh towels all the time um having uh you know like like room service just because I’m lazy basically I made my trip so much last week that I’ve already booked my second for Middle May nice cool cool Cool do loal typ typically dislike you if you say Japan instead of nepon I mean good luck of you I don’t know who what locals You’ be talking to but yeah no I don’t think so do you have any videos for The Travelers who want a big spend big I remember Raman Adventures

Had an Instagram post for a Ramen event that was like $1,300 per person in Kyoto last year wow no I don’t um you know my my content is sort of like I would say budget to mid-range Travelers I haven’t gone down the luxury um sort of thing other than

When I went to kazawa and I did some luxury things in kazawa um but I don’t I don’t maybe in the future as the channel grows I’ll be able to do stuff that although I want to keep it real for you know I want to be the man for the people know

Like ninja monkey if we do meet in Tokyo you need to try out my kilt on your happy guiding live stream dude you know that I’ve woron a kilt my my friend got married and I wore a kilt for my friend’s wedding that’s right I did Japanese breakfast are not to my

Liking um I’ve learned after a few years the first the first few years of traveling I didn’t actually realize that you could actually ask or request for a western style breakfast but even the western style breakfast is sort of like a japa a Japanese version of the western

Style breakfast if that makes makes any sense um usually there’s some soup some fish that is cooked in front of you um and usually there’s some pickles and some rice and that sort of thing and some fruits and if you ask for for the um West style they basically

Leave everything the same but they remove the fish maybe and they give you an egg or something like that yeah I mean it all depends I think Airbnb I can imagine if you’re going to be traveling with a group of friends and you’re sharing an Airbnb is definitely

Going to be cheaper um but me on my own as a single person traveling around it hasn’t made any sense for me yet how can I not be afraid dude just get lost you know the the best way to to um overcome a fear is to hit it head face face

First and that means that if you do get lost you’ll soon realize that it’s not the end of the world and that you you’ll find your way you know back to where you wanted to go to you yeah what’s the smallest luggage that I traveled with I did Japan three and a

Half weeks on one carryon and a computer bag um I could probably go with a with a carryon this depends on the season I think I could probably go with a carry-on and I was even considering it for this trip but I just have too many electronics and too much stuff you know

Like filming gear and stuff I have I I saw that show I did Willer Express I’ve used Willer Express but I’ve never actually done a night bus as such um Drew that’s actually a video in the making in a way um not spec not specific

Regions um but I do usually try out and mention like specific Foods when I am in um like a different different regions in my Vlogs or whatever um I’m not very sure if a specific video for foods for different regions would do well just because it would be very unrealistic for

Somebody to just to go to all the regions for specifically for the food not my thing not my thing me Dipple how are you doing my friend it’s been a while I hope you’re doing well use bleeps is team Labs worth the money well I’m going to be going to team Labs um

Now like literally in a week’s time and I’ll let you know I’ve been to team Love’s planets I loved it I thought it was worth the money um but then again I know people that have been and they’re like oh it’s overrated so it just depends what you’re

Into is a railway system very different from Tokyo to Osaka um I think the only main difference I would say is that um Tokyo is has a much more extensive rail Metro like Network meaning that you’ll probably use a lot more um trains in Tokyo than inaka good good to

Hear comeni breakfast is actually my go my go-to no actually my go-to is usually Starbucks um usually I I find a a Starbucks nearby and I get myself a coffee and a pastry or something like that or or actually a doto or a um what’s the other one

There’s a few like different like chains Japanese chains also that are pretty good any insights for longer States but not permanent stays but not permanent one to two months I mean that’s easy to do generally depends where you’re from if you’re from from um the UK for example

You can stay for up to three months so there’s no problem you can do a three month a 90-day Visa a tourist visa so it’s easy to do I have not been to a takayama Spring Festival but if it’s a festival and it’s in Japan is going to be

Crowded oh yes hell yes tally I don’t think T is that great to be honest me too I I would agree with you meil I I as long as I have coffee in me I’m happy question do you have a video on hotels yes I do I actually have two

Videos on hotels um how to how to um choose a hotel in and and um some tips for hotels so check them out oh lodging for one or two months and been looking at short-term apartment rentals but it seems a little intimidating um as it’s something that I

Haven’t done myself the only thing that you might be able to potentially look at is a share house um they are very popular in in Japan usually you share the kitchen you have your own room you share the the general like um living quarters and usually you can do sort of

Like those sort of lengths stays oh McDonald’s I usually get McDonald’s at least once once every other week or something and this is for C Zero um I like Yoshi Yoshi Noya basically me that’s right Osaka and Kyoto Osaka and Tokyo have different um this um like yeah left and right um you just need to see that they just asked for the first one right any more questions by the way

I am going to start closing things a little bit just because I am actually a lot more tired than I expected to be and just because I have been editing that video like a crazy person I feel like for the last two days um so on that note everyone any last

Questions when will be the first stream in Japan probably on Friday Friday I’ll probably stream quite quite um quite soon I’m I’m guessing so for 3 2 1 12 11 like a morning time Europe time Probably question I’m think I’m starting to end do you need to pay to bring tobacco or alcohol when you leave Japan also why again I use hands B better than me you I’m not better than you um usually you don’t have to pay for anything when you leave Japan it it all

Depends on the import of your the country that you’re like entering uh the Customs rules of the country that you enter usually so why do I want to come to Japan I want to come to Japan so I can meet you one day how was that for an

Answer hey thank you so much I will probably well I’m not very sure about the Wednesday stream we’ll see do you have any um tips to enjoy golden guy does it worth um going there you know what um I’ve been wanting to do a golden

Guy um guide or sort of thingy video and I have the right person for it and it’s TQ Sam so TQ Sam hopefully and if not this trip over the summer definitely we’re going to do because to do for me to do a video has to be done properly

You know like I don’t want rushed things I want well fought out video that people will be able to watch and say Hey you know like this is how to do golden guy so you’re very welcome depend penage B I’m just ending things here um and I’m going to leave it there for

Everyone follow the sun I’m just about to say goodbye dude but thank you so much for being here um I appreciate you all it’s been a really long day for me and you’ve got no idea the state of my house right now as a is out to film you

Know when when you film stuff you put the lights out you put the I’ve got a tripod I’ve got like piles of clothes here and I need to pack for my trip um starting tomorrow we going to start packing so anyway take care everyone don’t forget before before we leave don’t

Forget to please like the video um it does help the channel out and maybe um Japan Japan can very quickly put the very very last the the last video that I posted for packing check it out give it a bit of love please comment commenting is really the best thing that

You can do for every any content creator so if you support a content creator like myself or t Sam or Oriental put or whoever you you might support please please go onto their videos and actually comment and say hey good video or hey I love the video or whatever you want to

Comment that is really the best thing that you can do because it sends a very strong message to YouTube saying I like I interacted with a video so yeah on that note stay positive and be a happy guen see you soon take care peace

  1. Thank you for your videos! They are all good but since you asked for favorites (the ones I have saved to plan my second trip) they were Why Visit Kanazawa and 5 hidden gems in Tokyo videos. Bon voyage!
