IM IN EGYPT | Come visit the ancient city of Alexandria with me
Morning all it’s 4:40 a.m. and um we are heading to airport in Glasgow um I’ve got Caitlyn and her mom which you can’t really see do you just see them they’re there um we’re all heading to Egypt which is very exciting um I’m oh just in the
Car sliding um I had booked this trip going back to Oz I’m heading back to oz so this was kind of on the way um and then they decided to join me they were going to be traveling around traveling around Scotland for about a month but they’re doing a slight
Detour heading to Egypt as well with me which will be fun um we’re heading on a 15-day tour and with Timeless tours so we’ll see how that goes and yeah it’s a very early morning start we get into Cairo at Cairo time 6:00 p.m. which is
Like 400 p.m. hour time so it’s going to be a long day um stop over in Rome but that’s where we’re at and I’ve gone blurry so we’ll leave it there for Now So made it to Rome we’re just waiting for our bags which are taking their sweet time um they should have been on the conveyor about like 15 minutes ago n we’re still waiting but we need to then check them like get them out and then we
Need to recheck in for our next flight um and the latest we can drop our bags is 1:00 and it’s currently 10 12 and no sign of bags so it’s going to be a little rush probably um but yeah hopefully we’ve got enough time and we be there but yeah just waiting waiting
On the bags and then yeah we’ll be on our way to the next St A We’ve made it oh we’re blurry yay we’re all here yeah but here we’re in Cairo it’s so exciting um short 3-hour flight from Rome and now we’re here it was amazing coming in um all the buildings they’re like all the same but there was just hundreds and thousands of
Them was very cool so we’re now heading out um we’ll meet someone from the tour company that will um show us through the rest of the space but then um yeah we’re Here We’re in the car now we’re heading to the hotel um where we get used to it Maria is a little bit funny with me vlogging Caitlin’s like you get used to it there they are um Mar’s in the back cuz she’s got little legs I have she got a little leg um but
The sunet as we were coming out of the um airport was amazing amazing is it still there it’s gone now um but I did video it so yeah it looked amazing um and now it’s about an hour drive from the airport to our hotel and then yeah we’ll be There He [Applause] Yeah Be I haven’t really updated everyone I haven’t we got in last night um and then we stayed in the Oasis Hotel and now we’re heading out to Alexandria for for the day just looking at me just staring at me um we’ve just stopped off to get some snacks um so there’s a few
Different things I’ve got some long chips they call um and some choa chop sour geckos so we’ll see how they go um um there’s lots of different snacks and stuff in here but we we stopped on the way um but like the the highways all the
Way down um a massive like multi Lane and they’ve actually got separate ones for the cars and the trucks which is cool um so it keeps them separate and then yeah that’s where we’re at um yeah we’ll be at Alexandra set there’s a lot of horn honking um and it’s organized
Chaos it’s actually incredible to watch the roads how they just free flow we’ve hardly seen any accidents and everyone just sort of zigzags in and out of each other and it it’s very very interesting he’s back and back bye he’s Off Think is exactly look like the ancient Egyptian at the top we can see the sun desk refer to the over there and he the sun is swingy and from left and right hand side we can see the eagle or the f one behind us we can see like a passage
Under the ground this passage to help the the people to take the mommy from down to here so we’re currently in the catacombs in Alexandria and it just goes down and down and down it’s amazing um it’s a mix of Roman and Egyptian um because Alexandra’s more
Of got got more of Roman history um but then they’ve honored the Egyptian location and the Egyptian history which is really cool oh you can see a bit of the face it was like so there’s like if you can see there there’s some lips and stuff um but there’s
Just Chambers on Chambers on Chambers um of different yeah different burial Chambers um he said that when they discovered it a donkey discovered it um he went missing and his owner went looking for him and he found him down this hill and saw one of the archways from this
Well um so this Arch one of these archways is what he saw and they thought oh there must be something more down there so they kept going down um and that’s when they found this well which was not used for water it was used to bring the sarcophaguses
Down that’s wobbly step okay thank you um so they would lift circum fagus with stuff either end down to the bottom of the chamber which we’re getting to now and then they would bring it up this Corridor which then that’s what takes you to where we were before but oh I you
Yeah so they would bring it all the way down and then they would bring it through and then up into the chambers but then um yeah can I go in here I can so this is where they would lift them down from from way up the top
All the way down they had Windows the whole way down to just make sure that the sarcophagus got down safe down to here so it’s very very cool um still very warm down here thought it could have been cooler but um it’s Egypt so as you can see the sweat is
Real everyone’s very warm but it’s very very Cool A [Applause] A So we’re currently at Luna Park um which is right by the water and then you got Alexandra back over that way we’re still in Alexandra it goes for ages um and yeah it’s called Luna Park which is fun for all the melburnians out there um
Oh there’s one in Sydney as well I think um but yeah we’re here for lunch we’ve got like a mixed got mixed chicken and lamb coming or it was mixed chicken it was either just chicken just lamb mixed chicken and lamb or fish and we’ve gone
The mixed and that’s all we know about it so yeah um and then time no you can sit with us oh wow the food food’s coming out already or something my gosh so they’re putting some stuff down pickle and stuff chicken soup what’s a verdict Kaitlyn good
Yeah so we just have the chicken soup and then this is the mixed butter so there’s some lamb there’s some chicken there looks like to be what I know is chiap but Kebab um y Seafood over there just chicken this is a whole Feast right by the ocean it’s Lovely
In this vlog you join me on an early morning start to fly from Glasgow to Cairo! It’s an easy travel day and as we arrive in Cairo on sunset it leaves a lot to still be discovered. We then get up the next morning and head 3hrs north of Cairo to the costal city of Alexandria to explore catacombs, the citadel and enjoying lunch right on the water.
