Montecosaro (Marche), Italy【Walking Tour】History in Subtitles – 4K
[Drone intro🌐] [Walking tour begins👣/ Gardens of Cassero⛲🛵💐] [Via Antonio Gatti] [Town Hall – Former Augustinian Convent / Museum and Exhibition🏰 (see later at 33:20)!]
[⛪Church of St.Augustine⛪] It’s originas are from the thirteenth-century with a renovation of 1773, but preserves a gilded and chiseled reliquary of refined Byzantine art “Holy Cross” in gilded silver and an organ by Gaetano Callido (1792) [Piazza Trieste⛲]
1 – 7 [📋🏺Brief History🏺📋] The name comes from the Latin Mons Causarius, which means “place of cases”, because in its highest point (mons, mountain), where the keep stood, the praetor and the court of justice were once located.
2 – 7 Of Picene origin, the first documents relating to the settlement date back to 936 and testify to the development of the urban nucleus around the Parish Church of San Lorenzo.
3 – 7 But it was from 1200 onwards that the birth of what is now the inhabited centre, originally a medieval castle, began.
4 – 7 An advanced and fortified point of the Longobard Fermo and then of the Papal March, it was awarded the title of Monte Fedele in 1255 by Alexander IV, for its evidence of attachment to the Holy See.
5 – 7 In 1552, the municipality was ceded to the Roman family of Cesarini, who held it as a fief until 1817, when the duchy of Civitanova ended.
6 – 7 In 1568, the revolt against the Cesarini ends in blood: the thirteen rebels are hanged from the grates of Palazzo Vecchio (whose façade was aligned with that of Palazzo Cesarini in 1806-1808).
7 – 7 Today it’s a peaceful and very pretty town, included in the “Most Beautiful towns” of Italy official list. Enjoy the walk! 1 – 3 [⛪Church of St.Lorenzo Martire⛪] Built in 1723 on the ruins of the ancient parish church, of which the 10th century Romanesque bell tower remains.
2 – 3 The interior, with a single nave, preserves works recovered from the previous parish church, such as the fourteenth-century fresco of the Madonna 3 – 3 Also worthy of note is the large pre-Giotto crucifix (12th-13th century) with the hieratic figure of Christ which reveals Byzantine influences. [Pictoresque Underpassage📸] [Largo Laureati⛲]
[⛪Chiesa delle Anime (Church of the Souls)⛪] [Beautiful small garden🌺🌻🌹] [Via Trebbio] [Via Aurelio Saffi] [Porta al Castello (Castle Gate)🏰] […back to Largo Laureati] [Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi⛲] [Via Giacomo Leopardi] [Via Beniamino Gigli] [Via XX Settembre]
1 – 3 [Town Hall / Cloisters / Open Museum and Exhibition📸🏺🎨] The Monastery and the Church, both from the Middle Ages, bear witness to Montecosaro’s long journey through history. 2 – 3 A beauty and harmony that makes one think of the intervention of some illustrious architect, still unknown.
3 – 3 The Cloister divided into three orders. Inside the Palace, there is a Roman sarcophagus from the 2nd – 3rd century [Gardens💐] […back to Via Antonio Gatti] […back to Piazza Trieste⛲] [Via IV Novembre] […back to Via Trebbio] […back to Largo Laureati⛲] [Theatre of the Lodges🏺🌐🔎]

Happy Easter, dear friend!! Montescosaro is a beautiful place! Oddly enough, I liked seeing the children's play area at the beginning of the video. I often wonder where the children play in these towns since there doesn't always appear to be designated areas. 😃 I am not sure why that crosses my mind. LOL. I loved the beautiful flowers, the art and the architecture . I loved the church and the church bells. I always do. I would like to know, and this may be a very dumb question, do the church bells only ring out the time? I can't really tell from the videos. Some of them chime what I would think would be the time but then some ring repeatedly for quite a while. ⁉ Sorry for my ignorance. 🙂 Thank you again.
joli endroit ,joyeuses paques Ric
Buona Serra Riccardo 🍷😉

It’s so fitting, as we are ready to celebrate Easter, at the beginning we hear those Church bells and the walk inside Church of St Augustine. I enjoyed that very much. By the way this town is very beautiful, look at those beautiful flowers in that little garden. Happy Easter to you, Riccardo.
Ooohhhh, a vid shot in Marche, a region to sooo interests me!
The opening shot showcases something that you really need to see live to fully grasp : Italy has this fascinating layout where, the minute you exit an urban area, you're immediately in a pretty much fully rural setting. Even in the north. One minute you're in [name a town] centrale stazione, and two staziones over, you're in the middle of fields, orchards, vineyards, etc… And indeed here, you see a hilltown, a rural setting and the sea, all in one shot. Crazy!
Props for showing a pale yellow Panda right in the opening drone shot, too! Gotta love the Sanpietrini – so iconic. Beautiful brick and stone work and overall «greenery» all over town. It looks clean, but not sterile, if you know what I mean? Looks like there is a lot of pride in that town – rightfully so.
That shot at 13:56 is priceless : five old dudes, reinventing the world I'm sure! And holy crap, the italians' ability to park a car anywhere there is barely enough space to do so never ceases to amaze me.
Beautiful. Loved it. Grazie 😊
Ciao. See you next video 📹.
Montecosaro is a pretty well kept town 😍
Thanks Riccardo 😊
Buona Pasqua 🐣
Another cute town, another pleasant walk 😊 grazie, Riccardo and have a happy Easter, my friend, all the best ❤
Hey You! Yes, yes you.
Today is your day. You got this. You’re absolutely crushing it at everything you do😉
Lovely town. I particularly like these medieval gates integrated in the facade of those wallhouses. Or better said, those houses were build on top of the old walls and connected to the gates. Weather seems very nice already in the Marche. Happy Easter days and nice walks to come!
Hey my dear friend Riccardo !! That was a lovely little town and you had a pleasant walk through..Thanks for sharing this vlog.. Keep posting more..Happy Weekend !! CIAO
Que du bonheur avec vos vidéos ❤❤❤❤❤merciiiii..je vous salue de mon pays le MAROC
