Trip Day 42
Camino Frances Day 39
Stayed at Albergue Los Tres Abetos, Arzúa, Spain

I’ve walked over 500 miles/800 kilometers (over 1.1 million steps) of Camino Frances from France to Spain. Camino de Santiago Frances is an ancient pilgrim path across the north of the Iberian Peninsula.
✈️ I began my journey on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from home in Washington State, USA.
🚶‍♀️ Started walking on Friday, October 13, 2023 from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, France.
🎒 I arrived in Santiago de Compostela, Spain on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. Took me 41 days. 💕
🌊 I traveled to Muxia, Fisterra, & Cee to see the Atlantic Ocean.
✈️ I arrived back home on Wednesday, November 29, 2023! Total of 51 days.
🏋️‍♀️ I lost over 13 lbs. 👏 Gained a lot of strength & muscle. 💪🦵
This was my longest solo journey to date. Can hardly wait to walk other Camino routes and volunteer my time as a Hospitalora to help my fellow pilgrims along the Camino.
Thank you to my wonderful husband for telling me to go live my dreams of walking the Camino. ❤️
I miss all my Camino friends so much. ❤️

  1. Wow! That was a long hike indeed … and it wasn‘t „just“ the distance, it’s all those fierce little inclines as well. So: well done! 👍🏻
One question: the last time I walked along this section, there was a kind of a swampy bit behind Palas del Rei … maybe behind Casanova and before O Lebroreiro. (I showed some older pictures of a previous Camino in my video Portomarin to Melide). Pilgrims had to go from stone to stone for maybe 100m. I‘ve also been looking out for this in other Camino-videos, but no one seems to have recorded the swamp recently. I wonder if they have „improved“ the way by covering up the swampy section, because maybe it was a little difficult to handle by some pilgrims. They certainly have covered up some of the original corridoras, which were only very toughly paved and sometimes doubled as little streams. Last time when I travelled by bike I had to take a completely different route anyway, so I wonder about the swampy section.
