UNESCO Welterbe Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe in Kassel – Die Finnin reist durch Deutschland
Hello everyone, today it’s nice and sunny and we thought we’d take a little trip to Kassel. I thought I’d take you too. We’ve already seen something, and we’re now going to go to the castle park. It looks really nice in the photos and I’m excited to see
What it looks like in real life. Now we just pack the snacks and then we’re off. Well, now we have arrived. We are still at the very beginning of the park. It’s called Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe, and there’s a lot to see here. We’re in the park right now and I think
It’s probably even more beautiful in spring. There are beautiful trees here, and there is already the first castle, I think. Now let’s go there and look around to see what there is to see here. We’ve started our tour now and it looks like we’re a bit lost, but never mind.
We do it our style, so to speak. At the beginning there is a small pond or at the end there is a small pond and it looks nice here, very quiet. On the other side is a small waterfall and you can see
It all the way to the top. There are little ruins or something. We’ll go there straight away and take a look around. We still haven’t gotten very far, and I’m getting a little annoyed with my husband
Because we’re walking so slowly. But it’s really beautiful. That’s the aqueduct, I hope I’m pronouncing that correctly. From here you can see the whole way when we went up. I think
You could just take a whole day here, take some time off and come here and just enjoy your time here in the park. As I said, we’re only at the beginning and we’re a bit worried that the parking ticket won’t be enough for us. But it’s a bit difficult to move on quickly.
You just want to enjoy the whole thing. We’ve come a long way, the castle is quite a distance away from us, but the view from here is also quite nice. So, that’s the bridge we just saw from below. It’s called Devil’s Bridge.
We’re coming to the bridge now to see what it looks like from the bridge. So, this is a stone construction, that’s what I call it, but it’s called Steinhöfer Wasserfall. There are a lot of waterfalls here and it looks very beautiful.
For me, as someone from Finland, anything with nature is very special and I could just stay here all day, just enjoying it all, gathering the calm energy. It is very nice. I’m already full of joy because there’s the next destination, which is the Löwenburg,
And it looks pretty nice from here. Yes, I’m looking forward to it, let’s go. We have now almost arrived at the Löwenburg. There is another garden on the left side here. As I said, it’s February right now, so there’s probably nothing to look at.
But if you come here in summer or spring, there is definitely something to see. We got here a little late. The Löwenburg is only open until 4pm on Saturday, which means we didn’t make it. So, it’s currently 4:01 p.m. to be precise, bitter. But then next time.
I am really impressed. It looks like something out of a movie. Very nice, Löwenburg. We made it into the yard for a short time, but now it’s closed. I would recommend that you really pay attention to what time you are allowed there
So that you don’t miss anything. But it looks pretty nice from the outside too. So now we go from one destination to another through the forest. The forest is also beautiful, especially now in February. It’s definitely nice in spring and summer,
But I like it that way too. And I have to be honest, it’s pretty sporty here if you want to see all the destinations and all the sights. Then it’s best to wear hiking boots and nothing like that. But yes, comfortable shoes, and you can also take something to eat for a picnic
Because there are lots of benches and places where you can just sit down. So, a little tip from me while we walk through the forest here. So, this is the Neptune Grotto, that’s what it’s called, I think. I apologize if I mispronounce something.
Well, there should actually be water there too. This is what it looked like in the photos. And I was actually looking forward to this spot the most, but it looks closed right now. It looks like something is being renovated there. And if you get really close here,
I think you can see Neptune sitting there. Looks really nice, it’s just a bit of a shame that it’s now without this waterfall. But still looks really nice. Oh, long way up. Let’s go. So, we started right at the bottom
And it’s still going steeply upwards. We’re not at the top, but we’re almost there, and the views here are just incredible. You can see the whole city of Kassel, which is really beautiful, but tiring. We’re back home now. I actually wanted
To film the conclusion of the trip for you at the destination, but it was getting very dark by now and I didn’t manage to film the end there. That’s why now from home. We made it to the top. It was a bit tiring
To walk up all the stairs after spending the whole day in the park. It’s probably a better idea to start with this, then take a short break and then move on. Time was already short for us, so we had to get through it very quickly and also
Run up the stairs pretty quickly to make it. And we were already hungry, so we did the whole thing a little faster. But the view from above is incredibly beautiful and it’s worth climbing the stairs. Afterwards we took a break in the restaurant and ate something,
And that took a little longer than planned. It was getting really dark, it was already completely dark, and the park wasn’t lit. That was such a big minus for us, actually, that there are no paths, including the main path, that are not lit. This means that if,
Like us, you don’t plan your time very well, and we also saw many others there, it wasn’t just us, then you have to walk through the entire park in the dark, and it is a forest park ,
There are also branches and the ground is not completely straight, you really have to be careful how you walk there. But luckily every cell phone now has a flashlight, so we still made it to the car. But that was such a minus for us at the end of the day,
When we were already exhausted, tired and just wanted to get to the car quickly. You can also imagine what it would be like. But overall I would say I really enjoyed the park. I probably liked all the nature there the most, as a Finn and as someone who really loves nature .
It was really quiet, I think that has something to do with the time of year. Not as many people go there now and you could hear the birds and the water from the falls and just quietly enjoy the day there. Nature looks
Really beautiful at this time of year too, and of course all of these sights are really beautiful and you want to see them too. But this nature was a really big highlight for me. If I were to plan my next trip and recommend this travel destination to someone,
I would recommend taking at least 6 hours for yourself. The park is really huge and you really need time and you don’t want to just run through the whole park in a hurry because then it will be really tiring, it won’t be as much fun. And I would also recommend
That you take short breaks every now and then, take something to eat for a picnic. There are many nice places where you can sit down and just enjoy the time and recharge your batteries. I would definitely recommend this because while there are a few food options,
One we saw was in the castle at the very beginning. There is a café there, and then you have to walk through the whole park to get to this restaurant. That means we didn’t see any other food options in the entire park, and you get
Hungry just walking and being in the park all day. So take something nice with you and then just relax in the park and recharge your batteries in a beautiful place. What I would also recommend is comfortable clothing, comfortable shoes, especially because you have to walk so much, and also check in advance
Whether these waterfalls, I don’t know, or water fountains, as they say in German, but this Neptune’s Grotto , so that it is really functional. This is a big highlight, I think, and also check the times in advance, so that if you
Want to see the buildings and the sights from the inside, then you also have that option. We went there in winter, in February. I would say the park is definitely much more beautiful in spring, summer or fall. I still liked it now in winter
And it was very quiet. I’m sure it’s not as quiet at other times of the year, but I can imagine how beautiful nature is when everything turns green again. That’s why I would personally go there again when it’s green again, either in spring,
Summer or autumn. Before the trip I was really curious about whether I would like it there, and my destination, so to speak, was this Neptune’s Grotto. And like I said, it wasn’t functional and I was very disappointed. And if that were the only thing in the park, I would be really disappointed.
But as I said, there is a lot to see there, it’s not the only sight, and above all the whole nature was so beautiful that it just lifted the whole thing and made the whole trip really beautiful. I would really recommend this destination. And if you also
Like to spend time in the forest and enjoy the peace and quiet in the forest, then you will really like this park. And all the sightseeing is also a big bonus, of course. Yes, there is just a lot of beautiful things to see there, and you can really relax in the park.
I would be interested to know whether you have already been to Kassel and this park, and if so, in which season, because I am already planning my next trip and think to myself, when is the best time to go there? And if not yet, then I would be interested to know
If you would consider this travel destination in the near future. Feel free to tell me in the comments. If you liked my video and found it helpful, don’t forget to give a thumbs up and if you are new to my channel, you can subscribe now so you don’t miss any new videos.

Liebe Elisa! ☺
Danke für diesen Tipp! Alles sehr beeindruckend, sogar in dieser Jahreszeit!
