The old town is getting more attention Year bye and buildings are slowly getting fixed up through the narrow cobblestone streets you can also find smaller shops and why not stop for a Coffee We are now going outside the city of liol but we stay in the Limas Sal District number five on the list is omodos village located 30 minutes by car to the northwest of liol is this beautiful wine Village surrounded by tall mountaintops a large Cobblestone Square surrounded by restaurant and cafes lies

In the center of the Village next to it a 17th century Stone buil mon Monastery we are on our way to a place called araten futin which serves a delicious Branch you can choose to sit inside or on the balcony there are three different styles of branches to choose from with many options we went for the omos branch by fi which included warm homemade bread

Two choices of marmalade cheese cold cuts and spreads fresh orange juice and Mountain tea worked as a great compliment to the branch this place was amazing you should really try it out when you visit omodos next up we tried some wine next to the square and we got recommended to

Visit the winery ktima gero ktima means estate in Greek it’s located just a 5 minutes drive from the village and because we’re here in the springtime it was very green and a beautiful Drive we got a short tour of the building which had some incredible Views friend people and good wine we ended up buying a bottle of the indigenous Cypress white grape variety Moro canella always fun to try something new and this was a great wine they also produce wines from the more common Cypress varieties like Sinister and martico you can book tours online a link

Lanes a great place for a walk to grab a coffee or just sit down and listen to the waves of the Mediterranean Sea finally as number seven on the list we have the liol carnival taking place every year 50 days before Easter the festival is a 10-day event of people eating singing wearing costumes and attending parties these celebrations are held in most towns around the island but the

Event held in liol is by far the largest and most popular on the final day is the grand Carnival where more than 150 groups and an estimated 50,000 people take part in the Procession
