Another good one: Das Berliner Schloß – Berlin Palace. Uplifting and depressing at the same time.
View from inside Schlüterhof, courtyard named after Baroque architect and sculptor Andreas Schlüter, 1659-1714. Bombed by US/UK airforces 1943-45, stormed by Soviet Red Army in 1945, blown up by a German Socialist government in 1950.
The b/w photo though seems to me like from the revolution period that followed WW I, November 1918~20. My grandfather took part in those fights.
An activist campaign for rebuilding the palace started in 1992, construction works commenced in 2008, all historical parts visible today are paid for by private donations. The ugly modernist part you see on the right is where the oldest (Renaissance) wing of the palace used to be, but some politician needed to make a statement it seems 🙄.

I really like these historic photos and historical images!
Are they trying to prime us with this? Should we expect war?
Next time actually show the photo for a little longer then a second
