The Underground Nightlife | Nagoya | Destination Adventure
Sometimes the best way to find “off the beaten path” locations in another country, is simply to just start walking. Intentionally get lost for a whole day, then gps your way back, and you will be amazed what you will find. I hit the city with zero intentions or plans, but I found so much beauty and so many little gems I would have never otherwise found. The temples and shrines were beautiful, and the energy was so powerful. Meeting Nathan was an interesting surprise, and such a treat to get the opportunity to hear about someones story in a foreign land. It can be difficult to feel welcome in a foreign country if you cant speak the language, so finding an english speaker was a real treat.
There is a lively nightlife in Japan, basically every night. Weekends are definitely a little busier, but there is a good time to be had every night of the week as well. The required workload for most of the population in Japan is unfortunately very heavy, which is why the nightlife is so alive. People need to relax and cut loose after the work day, because unfortunately most employers will not allow vacation days.
I not much of a party animal, but this type of socializing, drinking and eating was such a fun way to enjoy the night. If you are planning a trip to Japan, do yourself a big favour and try to find an area without a high concentration of tourists. Then you can enjoy the authentic experience, as opposed to an experience catered to the tourist.

Hello everyone, thank you for the comments and messages checking up on me. Things are good on the DA front. Very tragic what is happening, and my thoughts are on the people struggling.
LOVE how you changed up your music choices and editing style to suit big city Nagoya vs. the wild Canadian and American north! Mad respect for all that you do; the cinematography, the unique perspectives, and the respect you always pay to the places and people you meet. You're hands down one of my favourite YouTubers!
Thank you for taking us to Japan, truly fascinating. Especially the hot/cold vending machines. Happy new year Dustin!
@ 13:28. "I'm not a religious person, but for me, kindness speaks volumes, and that man has a lot of kindness". Well right back atcha Dustin! Really that was a very full circle statement…if that makes sense.
Good video Japan's on my bucket list. I hope your okay with the earthquake that happened.
Thank you, Dustin, for taking us on this adventure with you! Beautiful places and culture to learn from!

Another great video Dustinβ¦.thank you!
Nice job! Keep up the good work!
Happy New Year ,looking forward to your travels . Chilling Cape Town South Africa.
Forty years ago I was a 21 year old traveling to Tokyo for the Summer to stay with my college roommate's family, culture shock. That beer brought back memories of The Hub in Shibuya, well the first few hours of being at the Hub that is. Had many experiences of out of the way places to eat and drink in the city, one BBQ place had whole Swallow on a skewer…head and all charred to a blackened crisp…lolol So much fun!!
Absolutely love this video, thanks for sharing.
Loving the Japan adventure!!!
Something that might help on trips like this is there is a google translate app that can translate text through the camera on your phone. It can translate someone speaking too or you can have it translate english to another language.
I think you deserve to go to an "ordinary" warm beach and focus on yourself. Maybe it could be the backdrop to a different type of story where the place itself isn't as important.
The pastor was fun. I loved the contrast of his calm interview and him standing with a microphone trying to bring Jesus to random people. So different from where I live. Imagine having that life goal of going on a mission for your deity, and living in that magical world. I do envy that on some level.
β€ Take care
Hey Dustin were you there for the earthquake? If so how was it? Hope you are well.
Gidday Dustin, owyagoing mate, this the first time I have made contact even though I have been following your videos since their inception, I thoroughly enjoyed them and I reckon you are on a good thing now so please keep it up and take care Cheers
Personally I prefer the content that's home grown based. Not hating I just like the more history exploration stuff.
4:55 I like the idea of nire things being sold in vending machines. It'd decrease the need to go into stores and is simple.
2.26.. Brilliant music timing.
What's up Dustin!
Thank u for sharing your adventure.
As always u capture the essence of each place with perfection.
Sending Love n Light

Dustin, I am loving the "abroad" episodes!! I love learning about other cultures, their history and food. The pastor was delightful. What a blessing to stumble across his path. As an American, I am shell shocked by the difference in affordability dining out. I went to get Sushi this weekend with my daughter. We each had one roll, Miso soup (included) and ice water. $60. total. π³ You got all that gourmet for for $12!!! π That's it. I am moving to Japan!! Love you man! Glad you are safe and well and back home now.
