Start your day early and get to the travertine pools for opening time. This way, you get a beautiful light for photos and a much quieter experience, with the added bonus of seeing the hot air balloons over this magical landscape.
When it starts to get crowded, head over to Hierapolis Ancient City and explore the ruins, making sure to take in the impressive Grand Theater.
To cool off later in the day, take a dip in the Cleopatra Antique Pools, an outdoor thermal bath house where you can swim over the ruins of the city.
Finish your day by watching the sunset from the travertines once the big crowds have left. You’ll be hard pushed to find a more beautiful sunset spot.
