Walk from Weil am Rhein Germany to Huningue France via Dreiländerbrücke

This is a Spring walk from Weil am Rhein in Germany to Huningue France crossing the Dreiländerbrücke or The Three- Country Bridge (Germany, France and Switzerland) going to Canoe Slalom Park then back to the bridge to go to the City Center.

The three-country bridge crosses the Rhine between the cities of Huningue (France) and Weil am Rhein (Germany). At 238 meters, it has the largest span of a pedestrian or cyclist bridge in the world.

Weil am Rhein (High Alemannic: Wiil am Rhii) is a German town and commune. It is on the east bank of the River Rhine, and extends to the tripoint of Switzerland, France, and Germany. It is the most southwesterly town in Germany and a suburb in the Trinational Eurodistrict of Basel. The town has around 30,000 inhabitants, and the Euro District metropolitan area has about 830,000.

Huningue (French pronunciation: [ynɛ̃ɡ] ; German: Hüningen; Alsatian: Hinige) is a commune in the Haut-Rhin department of France. Huningue is a northern suburb of the Swiss city of Basel. It also borders Germany (Weil am Rhein, a suburb of Basel located in Germany). The main square of the town is the Place Abbatucci, named after the Corsican-born French general Jean Charles Abbatucci who unsuccessfully defended it in 1796 against the Austrians and died here. Huningue is noted for its pisciculture and is a major producer of fish eggs.
