  1. Loving the VLOGS so far! Thank you for actually SHOWING things. So many others do such short shots of everything, that it's really hard to take it all in. Looking forward to much more!

  2. Loved this vlog, it's so interesting to see the differences between the parks! I am very jealous of the merch though, I wish we'd get more of it available internationally (and that the UK still had Disney Stores), those Aristocat bags and the Sakura collection would come home with me so quickly!

  3. Great video Tom. I will say Japan people are so humble and kind and they put pride in their jobs
I love that the park is so calm and peaceful even when crowded. I am interested to see rope drop for this reasons and it’s not like Disney world with the pushing and shoving and running .. Oye. And to see small world was gorgeous so clean and bright.
But Glad it turned out to be a nice day at the end.

  4. Love the long shots where we can just sit back and enjoy the atmoshphere and the music. I dont think i will make it to the park until fantasy springs opening day but you helped get me through the work day. Also love the Disney trivia/history mixed in to the commentary. Hope you are enjoying life here so far!

  5. Money making suggestion for the channel: viewers can buy Tokyo merch through Tom for the purchase price + a “donation” to the channel for Tom’s hard work in doing some personal shopping for us. 😎

  6. I really enjoyed the band and was impressed that their Main Street area was covered! Adding a few Disney characters to It’s a Small World was beautiful! I am curious to learn how easy (or not) ordering food is when you don’t know the language. I’m also wondering if they have table service restaurants or only rely on quick service.

  7. Its important to relate the value to dollars, like the meal at the end for 8 dollars, but if I'm not mistaken what it cost Japanese locally in Yen is considered more to them considerably.

  8. I would appreciate a dollar equivalent price for items that you price for us in yens. At least until we all get a feel for the conversion rate. Thanks! IMO you did a great job!

  9. 46:50 It already does make sense!!! 😂 I’ve never watched a Youtube video and felt like I’m reading a relaxing book. I don’t know where the hesitation was coming from before Tom but you are knocking these vlogs out of the park. I love your style of recording and production so much, they are in a class of their own. I am so excited we get more months of these. 🇯🇵

  10. Amazing video and keep it up. I am going to Tokyo in September and will have 4 days here. The one thing I can't find anywhere is when they will start selling Vacation Packages for September. They stop at august 31st right now. Anyone that can help find this info??

  11. Tom, i am enjoying your vlogs. My only suggestion is not to do an “upshot” when you are speaking directly to the camera. It’s not flattering for anyone even when for any person doing Facetime or Zoom videos, try to get the camera closer to eye-level.
BTW: Last vlog I commented about the guest and CMs are over there vs. the American Disney parks and said I think it is more about pride and culture. It is interesting to note that Jimmy Kimmel on his show said he was over in Japan and basically called out us Americans for being so filthy and disgusting compared to the Japanese. He is 100% right (never been, but based on watching many Disney vloggers who go over there).
Even with the lack of maintenance at the domestic parks, yes it may be about money but I also think it’s about not having that old-school Disney pride of putting on the best show you can.

  12. Another great video Tom! I love seeing the different food items and merchandise, and especially the og rides which Disney World has changed. It reminded me of how much I miss those things. We are enjoying these vids and my only suggestion would be to please say "enjoy the rest of your day, and have a great big beautiful tomorrow." I really miss hearing that from you!

  13. Another terrific vlog, Tom. Thanks so much for sharing it with us. I feel like I had a chance to visit Tokyo Disneyland myself today! Two highlights for me were your tasting of the not-so-tasty pistachio popcorn (that made me giggle) and the Pirates of the Caribbean ride-through. I feel like I stepped back in time seeing a version of Pirates without some of the U.S.’s pc updates.

Looking forward to the next vlog already.

  14. Went on the site to plan a vacation to Tokyo. Can you walk us through all the extra steps and explain things like bed share for kids as well as the steps when asked to specify plan details. Thanks Tom

  15. I’m really enjoying these vlogs! I would love to see one of your typical day around Tokyo that doesn’t involve Disney too. Thanks for bringing us along with you!

  16. Great video, Tom! I am really enjoying hearing about your travels. Will you do more shopping videos, specifically at the hotels? Do the hotels have different items found at the parks? Thank you in advance for all you do! I love seeing all the videos and hear about your travels.

  17. Do they just shine a pink light onto Cinderella Castle to make it look like the pink paint jobs on the US castles? It's hard to tell. I can't wait to go visit these parks someday. Thanks for showing us around much more than TDR Explorer ever has (love him though). I love seeing the antique machines in the Arcade. I want one of those plush Mickey heads.

  18. Love that they still have the classic scene of the “auctioning of women” scene at Pirate’s!! ……..they’re PIRATES, not boy scouts!! Glad Tokyo put their foot down NOT to change it, (or Splash).

  19. Constructive: love long form YouTube. We are Disney fans and love to be immersed in park experience, so take all the time you need to convey your experiences. I have a sneaky suspicion your camerawork will become more and more refined over time. This almost feels like a documentary, a guide to an American’s experience in Tokyo, which could prove quite useful for those of us (me and others, I’m sure) planning adventures to the far east in the future. Keep talking about how you navigate daily life. Even the quips about convenient store runs are useful and help to set the scene. I like how you linger on moments in the park and capture ‘action’ moments but also the normal times too. Gives good sense of the aura of park experience. I like the style of how you record scenic moments then offer commentary, but maybe play around with that a bit more? Just random thoughts that come to mind, but I’ll tune in next time and possibly find other areas for improvement, but so far- great work!

  20. Tom, I will echo what numerous others have said great vlog please keep them coming! It is amazing to see how much English is spoken and written all over the park. As always you and the rest of the WDWNT team do a wonderful job of presenting content that I very much enjoy proud WIG's member here! If you are back at WDW in mid July I will be there for my 50th b-day and would love to buy you (and any other WDWNT staff that can make it) a round at Territory Lounge! Eric M. has my cell number. Safe travels Tom!

  21. I think I like the dank Pirates queues in the US better. And I note they've added Jack Sparrow here also. Surprised at the amount of spoken and written English- the map contains no Japanese. I know all Japanese "learn" English in school, but I never got even adequate in German despite 3 years in HS and college, and I imagine the average Japanese person is the same. Finally, Tom, I suggest you investigate the cost of a shipping container to hold everything you want to buy. And perhaps you could live in it in FL, solving the high apartment cost.

  22. Love the original versions were coming next year. Please let us who’ve never been out of the U S what we need to know about vaccines visas credit cards paperwork we need etc. thanks

  23. Tom, for the first time in a year I can say I enjoyed your content. After being a WIGS member and enjoying what you did, I became disenchanted with the Disney content on your channels. Thanks for doing these vlogs. Please don't change anything. It's nice to enjoy your stuff again.

  24. Please keep these coming! I know there's been conversation about adding more vlogs to the channel for awhile. The format is definitely working for Tom's extended trip. Can't wait for the next one!!

  25. I'm enjoying your vlogging – no notes!
I will also agree that Japan's Winnie the Pooh is the best – we rode it at least four times (over a couple of days) when we were there in November. And also agree with your assessment of It's a Small World. It is a ride we tend to skip in the US parks, but rode it 2 or 3 times in Japan. It was actually pleasant! And almost never crowded.

In case you don't already know, 7-11 has great corn dogs if you are ever missing one. I was dubious, but they are delicious!

  26. This vlog is so much fun. I've been to TDR a few times, but we tend to rush from one place to another and don't always see the fun atmospheric things like the band, etc. so this has been a great way to enjoy them. Looking forward to more! p.s. We spent some time relaxing on the outdoor patio of Grandma Sara's watching the boats come off Splash Mountain. It was a nice place to chill.

  27. I am genuinely considering a Tokyo trip this summer so I can go back and do it properly. This video is really cementing it for me! Because of time constraints I had to do both parks in one day, which did them both a disservice.

  28. I knew you were in for a good experience when I saw the mala spice packet and you were like “the harissa is the spiciest I’ve gotten”

Idk if it’s true everywhere but mala is what they call the type of spice they have here in Chongqing, specifically that numbing of the sichuan peppercorns with those red chilis.

  29. Thank you for this especially since I probably will not get to go to Tokyo Disney in my lifetime or even go to Japan for that matter. It is fun to get to see it through your Vlogs.

  30. ThiS sUcKeD bLaH bLaH bLaH bLaH😂 jk jk It was a good vlog and other than the bit of camera trouble I think you’re fine.
