The Netherlands or Holland is a small country in Western Europe. Holland has 17 million inhabitants and lies partly up to 6 meters under sea level. The dykes keep the water out of the lowlands and the polders are traditionally drained by thousands of windmills. The Netherlands is also the country of the tulips and the flower fields, which especially in the Bollenstreek around Lisse you can find between March and May.
