What is it like to travel 3rd Class platskartny on Uzbekistan trains? We travelled from Tashkent to Nukus. A 22 hour journey across the country for $16 in a platskartny sleeper. A great way to meet Uzbek people and to see the landscape from a slow train.

Part of our grand tour of the Eurasian continent, as we travel overland across Russia to the far east and back to Europe. The silk road countries of central Asia are fascinating places to visit!

This was filmed in September 2018 on a journey that has taken us over 2 and a half years and is still not quite complete in May 2020. We are currently locked down in Poland during the pandemic and are finally getting a chance to produce video that we have taken a long time to get around to…
