  1. Help, I am going to Europe for 10 days , got small soft carry on (22โ€) and for my tour it says for the motor coaches say personal item on can only be 12 โ€œ long ! Can I use a cross body , most are 15 , but just keep it on me , I was initially going to use by standard backpack thatโ€™s 18 โ€œlong , but now it seems Iโ€™m losing space!!!

  2. Omg! You should put your shoes in a bag before in your suitcase! Who knows what crazy things they have picked up where you have walked! And now they are touching your hair styler! ๐Ÿ’€

  3. My backpack has my keys, phone, wallet, water bottle, meds, chargers, liquids bag, toiletries, snacks, wipes, lip balm, one outfit and shoes. Anything I would absolutely need in case I have to check my carry on and it would get lost. Then I'm only out my extra clothes which I can buy anywhere in a pinch.

  4. I always use panty liners and light weight nylon or silk camies. The liners get tossed each day and the camies are easily washed with Eucalon hand wash laundry product. I wash them while I teak a shower. They don't need rinsing with the Eucalon. Two camies are just fine, I alternate them and they dry easily over night.

  5. I have been a packing light follower for several years. All these tips have been on the web for at least five years or more. Remember that shorts and tank tops are not allowed in Italy for many tourist stops. Many wardrobe choices in packing light blogs are geared for 20 or 30-somethings. As an over-70 traveler, including a couple multi-day hikes, my packing list is a bit different.

  6. Sorry $88 for a tshirt.๐Ÿ˜ฎ Can't do it. Spend that on 7 normal t-shirts and a couple of Polos. Then take the remaining $500+ and look at creating an investment strategy ๐Ÿ˜‰

  7. I love your channel and Iโ€™m so glad I found this video as my friend and I are going to the Netherlands and Belgium in April, Bruges and Antwerp, the latter to visit a friend for a couple of days, and then a one week tulip bike tour. I definitely want to do carry-on so your video is quite timely and I shared it with my friend and others. Question: ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿผ the bike tour guide suggested we bring a weatherproof windproof jacket and Iโ€™m going to go look at the Patagonia one you mentioned. Thank you also for the links which really are most helpful. Will this very-thin easily-packable jacket keep me dry in rainy weather and does it have to be layered for cooler conditions? I ask because I am also taking a Road Scholar tour to Scotland in July, and this jacket may be useful for that, too. So excited to have found you. Now, if anyone has some recommendations for lodging in Bruges or Antwerp, please let me know. My friend who lives in Antwerp suggested a B&B, but itโ€™s so small that itโ€™s already filled up. Thank you!

  8. I would never be able to pack as little as you do, but I wouldn't want to do it either. How can you put all your toiletries in the backpack? Only a minimum is allowed with you on the plane. I see that you do not shop when you travel. I appreciate your suggestions, but that is not for me.

  9. I traveled five weeks in Eastern Europe last summer with a carry on. I washed clothes along the way as most items were quick dry. It was a hot summer so no need for heavy jeans or jacket. I always carry basic first aid items and a Covid test, just in case. Headlamp, iPad mini. The lighter, the better.

  10. I am wondering about how the desert taupe colour worked out. Did it scuff terribly? Would you buy it again? Thought on colours? Have you been able to carry on the plus size?

  11. Omg, I don't know how I'm going to do this ๐Ÿ˜‚ I'm Australian, our carry-on luggage is strict, and I have not been able to do it here, haha. I do exercise even on trips, so a lot of my clothing is for that. I'm vegan, too, so it's hard to find something suitable for the cooler weather.

  12. Regarding laundry: I made my first overseas trip in 2023 and I needed to wash my clothes. (I hadn't planned on it but i needed to). I was in Paris and there was a laundromat a block away from my hotel. It was inexpensive and only took 90 minutes. The washer was 30 minutes and the drier was 40 minutes- and the extra time in there is because I needed to get detergent and figure out how to use the facility.
90 minutes to read a book, chat with locals and other tourists in the laundromat, and then i had clean clothes fro the rest of my stay. It's not a big deal.

  13. Hi, from Australia and have just found you guys. We are enjoying your videos, very much and have even bought some compression bags.
I do have a question for Alli, what brand do you use for your crossbody bag? Thank you.

  14. When I go to Europe, my favourite things to do are operas, ballets, and concerts. You have to wear something nice. I like a long squashable dress and a pair of ballet flats. Iโ€™m not big on jewelry. What little I have is very expensive and I donโ€™t want to worry about it.

  15. Can i ask, what denim jacket is that? It looks so soft! I was just wishing for a really comfy denim jacket while planning what to pack this summer.

  16. I love that people have addressed the issue of weighed carry on, as an Australian/New Zealander I always find it so discouraging when watching these type of videos a lot of which are US based travel enthusiasts who will VLOG how they can pack ALL the things in carry on without mentioning once the weight restrictions because it doesn't seem to apply with US carriers. As us fellow Aussies know, our carriers will often weigh our carry on and make people pay and check it into cargo if you are overweight, have seen people scrambling many a time when been caught out with overweight carry on deciding what they can throw in the trash and leave behind ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

  17. I use the weather app with the locations I plan to travel on my phone. I can see up to 10 days' worth of weather forecasts, which helps me pack accordingly.
