Gothenburg (or Göteborg 2024 GÖTEBORGSBYGGEN) is the second city of Sweden with a population of almost 600,000. It is also the capital of Västra Götaland County. Gothenburg is located in the West of Sweden by the Kattegat. Gothenburg was originally a Dutch trading colony and had favorable trading and taxation conditions granted by King Gustavus Adolphus. Nowadays Gothenburg has much to offer. Besides the University of Gothenburg and the many students in the city there are some remarkable architectural wonders. Like the Horticultural Society of Gothenburg, the Volvo Group (firstly established in Gothenburg in 1927) and the renaissance buildings including the Grand Theater, the German (Dutch) Church and the Gothenburg Cathedral.
