Real Fairytale Castle: Neuschwanstein | Germany Series Part 2
have you ever been reading a book
especially a fantasy book and you feel
as though you’re transported into that
world into that magical Amazing Story
well I have and I definitely really love
the feeling when you feel like you’re
not really reading anymore but you’re
just experiencing a magical fairy tale
and for the first time like ever I
actually felt that feeling in person
like physically around me when I went to
Germany to visit the fairy tale Castle I
don’t know how to pronounce the name of
the Castle so I will put it right here
for you to read and it is a beautiful
magical castle and it really was one of
the most magical experiences so join me
as I share my experience visiting this
Castle when I took a trip to Germany
after I stayed abroad in Europe for 7
months I hope you enjoy this video and
find the travel tips and stories that I
share interesting and helpful let’s get
started hi if you’re new to my channel
I’m Rosio and I stay abroad in three
different countries for 7 months last
year I went to Paris London and Norway I
lived in each of those countries for a
number of months and I also traveled to
a good number of other countries and I’m
really grateful to have had the
opportunity to do that
and just it was an amazing experience
that I thank God for every day and I’m
really blessed to be able to share these
experiences with you and I really hope
that you’re able to be inspired to just
like explore the world around you to go
on trips to do things that are
adventurous things maybe you normally
wouldn’t do and just kind of see how you
can grow and learn from those
experiences I really love saying abroad
it was one of my favorite things I’ve
ever done it was definitely some
challenging times it wasn’t all easy um
but it was all worth it just like the
amazing incredible like once in A-
lifetime opportunities that hopefully
might come again but I would highly
encourage you to take advantage of Sig
abroad if you can if you’re interested
in signing abroad
especially if you go to a UC school I
highly recommend that you check out ucap
which is the University of California
educational abroad program they have
some amazing programs and they are
programs that I Sayed abroad with as
well some background on this particular
video um when it comes to these amazing
castles I decided that I wanted to go
visit this Castle when I figured out
that it was a real castle now what I
mean by that is that I read the amazing
book series called the land of stories
by Chris kulur if you haven’t read it go
ahead and give it a try it’s it’s truly
amazing the writing is so well thought
out so funny so like inspiring so
creative and all the characters are so
thoughtfully weird and out and it’s just
kind of like one of my favorite book
series I believe there’s six books um
and it’s really like it’s a really fun
series to read I read them as they were
coming out and what I didn’t realize is
that in one of the books the characters
go and visit a castle in Germany um you
might be able to see where this is going
and this Castle serves as a portal into
the fairy tale world for them to travel
into now the amazing thing is that this
Castle is real it is the castle that I
visited in Germany whether or not it’s
actually a portal to the fiter world I
don’t know but it definitely feels like
one when I realized this was a real
place I really wanted to visit it and be
able to experience a place that like the
characters i’ read about had gotten to
see in the book I’m really grateful to
have been able to go to visit this
amazing castle where when I finished my
study abroad program my last program was
in Norway and I took a week-long trip to
many different countries um some of the
other countries that I went to include
Denmark which is in Copenhagen and I
have a video up about that if you’re

that I took in Oslo that were all part

happy to share with you when we got into
the village that’s around the castle you
could definitely see that the castle was
a very popular place for people to come
and visit there are other tourists
around other people um there and the
little village around is mostly like
souvenir shops places for you to eat
there’s some hotels things like that so
first of all we stopped for lunch and I
had lunch like in this like little cafe
close to a gift shop and then I decided
to spend the rest of the time like
walking around the little village they
mostly had like stor stores and I think
it’s was like a like a glass shop like
with ceramic or glass items that people
could buy and I also walked into a gift
shop and I got like a tote bag and some
postcards um to bring home um I think I
think that was mostly what I got mostly
postcards and it just kind of like
really nice to kind of like see what
they have I love bringing like little
momentos from places that I go to
typically I stick to like smaller things
especially with your luggage when it
comes to buying souvenirs consider how
much they weigh and how much space they
will take up in your luggage you don’t
want to buy anything that’s too bulky or
too heavy cuz that could affect like
your luggage when it comes to going back
home trying to weigh your luggage and
trying to fit everything in so for me
personally I mostly suck to like small
things like postcards or like tote bags
things that you can like fold um I also
got like some jewelry here and there
just kind of like little things I think
I also got like a like a little
miniature like model of the castle but
it was like it was like this like this
big is it wasn’t that big sticking with
smaller things and it wasn’t that heavy
either so like that’s just something to
take into consideration um cuz hopefully
that’s something that will make your
traveling like a bit easier not caring
quite so much after lunch we all met up
our tour group and we took a bus that
took us up a hill um and then it only
took us I think halfway up that’s kind
of like the way it
works and then you have to walk the
other half of the way up like a mountain
um because the castle is like on this
giant rock in the middle of a mountain
but it also makes it that much more
beautiful and that much more like
surreal and magical cuz it legitimately
looks like something out of a fairy tale
like something out of a story book it’s
incredible so we took the bus just to
note there is oo like a HSE drawn
carriage there’s only two of them and I
think it is like maybe a bit more
expensive I’m not quite sure how much it
would cost but um the buses run more
frequently so if you are going um you
can look into the the horse option of
course um I I only know how the bus one
works though so we also like when we got
up to the halfway point there’s a bridge
I highly highly recommend that you go to
the bridge we were running a little
short on time just because we had a
certain entry time that you had to be at
the castle gate in order to get in and
this is a very important like travel
like tip when you book anything
typically like museums any of tour like
castles that sort of thing you’ll have
an entry time that you reserve if you
are late to your entry time they might
not let you in so do your best to be on
time and even better early to your entry
time that way you make sure that you
actually get to use the ticket that you
bought so I work cutting it a little
close when it came to the entry time but
our tour guy mentioned that there was
this beautiful bridge that has like the
best view of the castle and they were
right it was the most beautiful view the
castle you could see it like just the
there like in the middle like surrounded
by trees you could see water I believe
there’s rivers or or lakes on both sides
it was absolutely stunning and I I felt
so happy to see it I felt like like so
much joy and it felt it felt so so
joyful and I I just I F I truly felt
like God was with me in that moment and
I looked up at the sky earlier and there
was a giant heart in the sky and it just
made me feel so happy and so full of
love and so grateful for this amazing
experience and for like Sayan abroad in
general and I think one of the greatest
like gifts about saying abroad help me
grow as a person help me grow when it
comes to like my relationships with my
friends my family with my faith and it
was yeah definitely this trip was one of
my highlights of my sideb experience and
the view was just beautiful we were as I
mentioned short on time so we just we
ran onto the bridge we took some
pictures just enjoyed the beauty and and
then rushed back so that we could go up
the hill in time and it is kind of a
steep hill but we were we were
determined to make it there in time so
we were we were going up that hill um
kind of walking fast um myself and
another person on the tour um that I met
um she was really sweet and it was
really nice to like get to know
different people from different
countries and we were all like there to
see this amazing castle and as we
contined to walk up like just the beauty
was like amazing as we got closer and
closer closer you saw more of the castle
and I was just so excited and it made me
feel like like I was living my
dream and and it was amazing a true it
was a true blessing a true gift so I
took lots of pictures as we were walking
up lots of videos I just wanted to
record it and to like preserve this
memory

I will note um just with the other CLE
we were not allowed to take pictures
inside the castle but I did take
pictures like once the tour had finished
and like in the areas that you could
take pictures in like there were some
areas that you could but the main part
of the castle inside you couldn’t also a
little fun fact the castle is actually
still under construction they have not
finished the castle it has been many
years but they are still working on it
so that’s just like an interesting thing
I think it’s it’s still working on this
um amazing work and I think I wonder
whether or not they mentioned that in
the book as well that I read cuz for me
like it sounds familiar but I’m not sure
um it’s been a while since I read it but
the castle itself like as I as I
mentioned before just just Absolut like
exquisitely beautiful I will note there
were a lot of people around as with any
very famous monument or location Museum
or Castle so that’s one thing to prepare
yourself for um especially if maybe you
get like a bit overwhelmed in crowds or
you don’t love being around a lot of
people or a lot of strangers I would
recommend like when it comes to travel
in Europe if you can try to go like in
the late summer early summer not in the
summer um just because like for a lot of
places in Europe there isn’t really like
an official off season CU is there such
popular places to travel to however if
you can avoid the time when most people
go it might it might help if you want to
avoid large crowds um but the experience
will be a little different especially
since like the weather will be different
the environment will be different but
that’s just something that like you know
just like some advice or tips that I’m
offering if you’re interested in like
considering a different travel time and
then the front of the castle was just it
was just beautiful and and it like it
looked like something out of a fairy
tale it was it was beautiful and it was
it was kind of like crazy how like
amazing and magical it looked and I I
was excited to go inside I couldn’t wait
I also really want to make sure that we
got in on time um so we took a couple
pictures and you know I I as I mentioned
before there were like some crowds
around but that’s the way it is when you
travel right we all want to see these
amazing wonderful places and it’s it’s
great that we have so many people who
are traveling to learn more and to see
more of the world so we got to the um
front of the castle in time thankfully
um we were able to check in give our
tickets and we started to walk through
and as we walked through the castle I
just I felt like I like I was a princess
in a castle which I know might sound
like like a little like over exaggerated
but like that’s that is how I felt I
felt like I was living in a castle like
I was in a fairy tale in a story book
and like I mentioned before it was like
the same feeling that I get like as I
got like as I walked more and more
inside the castle it was the same
feeling that I get when I read a book
and I become so engrossed in the book
that I feel like I’m in the character’s
world I feel I’m experiencing it but I
don’t know that it ever felt that like
feeling in like real life like
physically around me when I wasn’t
reading a book
and it was it was just like the most
amazing feeling so going to hope that I
never forget just like feeling so
immersed and it was it was truly magical
and truly like a
gift and I feel so blessed to have
experienced that and I hope that one day
you can experience something like that
too cuz it’s just one of the most
amazing feelings and inside there were
lots of Windows and you can take a look
out at the beautiful view at the at the
Lakes and the greenery and it just like
everything was so so perfect and so
beautiful and all the designs is just
how you would imagine a castle to be and
fun fact this Castle actually inspired
Walt Disney and it came to making
Sleeping Beauties Castle I think it is
also known as like the Cinderella like
Castle which is like really incredible
and like kind of like hard to wrap your
mind around if you think about it like
how this Castle has intersected in so
many different ways you can think about
like just like the fairy tale kind of
like part of it how it’s like built um
to you know resemble a fairy tale and
also how it was used in this wonderful
book series as a portal to the fairy tar
World which is legitimately what it
feels like when you’re in it and at the
same time it was a castle built by a
king and you know many many years ago
there just so many different layers of
history and as part of so many different
stories also like has contributed to
what what Disney built in Disneyland has
contributed to like the history and
Legacy of fairy tales it’s truly
incredible and it’s so it’s so amazing
and kind of
like just like just thinking about that
like to wrap your mind around it it’s
it’s really it’s really cool to put it
plainly so it was it was it was so so
amazing and just like walking through
like all the items all the furniture
and they had um like just like different
like Furniture items I believe it was
like mostly wood I remember they also
had like this beautiful beautiful like
painting I think it was um I think it it
had like a Biblical tie to it I don’t
remember exactly what the painting was
um I want to say like maybe it was like
the
apostles or like different Gospels it
was beautiful and they they also had
like different like it like different
decorations
and just like the design I just remember
the design was was really amazing I was
looking at everything trying to like
preserve It In My Memory hopefully as
time goes by I’m able to remember them
of course it’s not like as clear as when
I first went there but I just I also
hope I just remember like the feeling of
being there you know of experiencing
something like that and and when I
walked through it felt like I was like
in a dream like I was in some alternate
like fairy tale story book like I jumped
into a book and experiencing it in real
life like that’s that’s the way it felt
at the end of the tour um there was like
this beautiful like balcony kind of like
area and you could take a look and the
view was just beautiful the sun was out
there was a beautiful Lake and like
everywhere you look you got a different
aspect of the view I just wanted to take
pictures and record everything so I
could have like some I guess like some
someo and like I could have like those
memories preserved in those photos it’s
it’s one of the best ways I think to
learn more about the world to experience
it for yourself and just to help you
like grow as a person and also thank you
to the friend that I made on the tour
who took some beautiful pictures of me I
really appreciate it and I also hope
that you like the picture I took of you
um and it was just an amazing experience
truly and then after taking those
pictures um we contined to walk towards
the exit and along the way like so like
beautiful views beautiful designs just
like the art architecture was exquisite
every
I felt like I was in the fairy
tale it was magical like I was inside
the book I was AR
physically it was
amazing and I also walked through the
gift shop which was on your way out and
they had all sorts of like little items
and postcards they also had like an
umbrella which I think I bought because
if you remember from my Copenhagen video
My Umbrella did break in Copenhagen the
wind and the rain it it was kind of a
lot for it to handle so I did buy an
umbrella in that castle um gift shop
which advinity is an interesting place
to Bri umbrella but you know it just
kind of what I needed at that moment and
I’m glad they had one and then after
getting out from the gift shop I really
wanted to make sure that I was on time
because there was a time that we needed
to get back to the bus and I you know it
was hard for me to kind of like walk
away from the castle I just wanted to
experience it for as long as I could and
it’s it’s one of the most one of my
favorite places I’ve ever been to and
definitely one of my favorite castles or
palaces that I’ve seen and it was it was
truly truly a gift and then on the way
down I was walking down that pretty seep
Hill it is quite a walk by the way like
it takes some time and I was trying to
go fast because I was worried about
being late to the bus um and I also saw
some horse drawn carriages along the way
as they were making their way and just
like getting to see like the continue
view as I walked down was really pretty
it was also like a little waterfall and
I was really surprised to see that it’s
like a really nice surprise really
beautiful I love waterfalls I love
nature

and then as I walked down I also got to
see another Castle which I also don’t
know how to pronounce which I also put
the name up here um but it’s a yellow
Castle I’m not sure whether it was made
by the same King but it’s like opposite
the U fairy tale castle and you also
have the option of choosing a tour to go
there if you’d like to I think or G gain
entrance tickets the tour that I got did
not include that castle however so I did
not see that one but it it was really
interesting to see it cuz it’s like a
yellow Castle It’s s out it definitely
looks kind of like fairy talish as well
um and it was nice to to like see that
in the view and and just kind of be
surrounded in a place with so much
magical Beauty so thankfully I did make
it to the Tor bus in time after walking
quickly down that hill and after that
like amazing amazing experience I was so
happy I was so grateful I just I just
felt so much so much peace and love and
it was truly special it’s truly a
special experience that I I will
treasure
forever on the way back we just drove
straight into Munich and the landscape
again was beautiful and I kept recording
until I saw the last glimpse of the
castle cuz I wanted to see it for as
long as I could um and it was it was
truly beautiful and the village like
looked legitimately like a story like
fairy tale book Village and it looks so
it’s like something out of a fairy tale
something out of story book and it it
just it’s it’s amazing how beautiful the
world that we live in exists like how
beautiful the world we live in is how
much Beauty exists and that such a place
like this exists in our world today you
know what I mean like it’s it’s just
it’s just beautiful this beautiful world
that was
created and I I really really love this
experience I was tired on the tour of us
ride back I didn’t manage to sleep but I
did get to like just enjoy the beautiful
scenery there was I think like some
maybe some like bodies of water some
beautiful trees and architecture getting
to see like some more mountains and just
like taking time to relax reflect if you
can taking time to reflect on your
experience take it in just kind of like
absorb what you experience process it
cuz so often when you’re traveling
you’re going from one place the next you
don’t have much time to think about it
and really process it um and there there
are such amazing experiences but also
like study abroad it’s not just like a
weekend trip that you take you know like
the entire study BR experience is such
like its own unique very kind of like
distinct part of my life at least in my
case and it’s like it’s its own like
very distinct time in my life and just
kind of like processing the entire
experience definitely take some time um
if you can you know journaling or like
maybe making videos or like doing what
you can to kind of like avoid those
memories and process them and just like
really take in what you’ve experienced
can be quite helpful I didn’t keep a
journal I did however save like the
ticket stubs from different places I
visited I save like little different
momentum so in different places so I’m
thinking about doing a scrapbook I might
do like a a video on like setting up my
scrapbook putting together my scrapbook
so that’s something you’re interested in
stay tuned for that and I just you know
I think it’s important to find ways to
record those memories after the
wonderful tour that was truly an amazing
highlight of my side experience um it
was the end of the tour it was evening
time it was late well not that late but
it was like starting to like get a
little dark um I was hungry and tired
when I got back into Munich um the tour
had ended and just kind of like um you
know I thanked our bus driver and our
tour company and I proceeded to make my
way into the city to grab dinner and
then go to the hotel I was thinking
about going around the city to see other
sides but I was really tired and just
kind of wanted to rest especially since
I had a flight the next morning I put
together travel plans for my next trip
which was to Barcelona so if you’re
