St
hi there good morning this is Prague the
capital and largest city of the Czech
Republic or czechia today is April 17th
it is currently 44° Fahrenheit that is
6° c a chilly day here in mid April the
sun came out for a little while and I
quickly warmed up and then it went away
and it is back to being cold so I have a
long underwear on under the uh pants
here we’ll see what the uh Day brings
one of those Anything Could Happen sort
of a days so
uh around here is the Prague Castle
complex according to Guinness Book of
World Records the largest Castle complex
in the
world and the
current home of the president of the
Czech
Republic
so Prague is absolutely one of the most
beautiful phenomenal European
cities which was also the capital of
Czechoslovakia a country that uh existed
through the Communist era
and then split apart into the Czech
Republic and
Slovakia in 1992 corresponding with the
fall
of the
Communist Soviet Union
and the dissolution of Communist
governments in this part of the
world in the early
1990s and as a result
of this uh part of Europe becoming more
accessible than the
Wonder of uh many countries and cities
within Eastern Europe in general but
especially Prague here has become very
well known and popular and is now one of
the most uh visit destinations in Europe
and for good
reason and yet at the same
time it is
still quite different from other major
uh European cities
Paris Amsterdam London Rome that are for
one thing larger and also just more
well-known more besieged by tourists
Prague has a much uh smaller feel
than some of those
other cities and the architecture is
just classic
European the entire center of the city I
mean basically everything that I’ve
seen is almost all the old uh
architecture so it is really a
uh Wonderland of exploring
look at
those for
booting Gothic
spires and the incredible Castle Square
construction on the castle began in
870
ad so built during the 9th
century the history of this region
goes back long before
that into
BC there were Jews here
Kelts Germanic
tribes and then the Slavs
arrived
and have been here ever
since St
paus we have some
Latin St Petrus
today president Leopold Fountain
here
l in 2020 the restoration of a
significant piece of cultural heritage
on the Prague Castle’s second Courtyard
the leopolds fountain from 1686 was
finished on the initiative of the
Heritage preservation department Leopold
I of
Habsburg was crowned the king of bohemia
on 14th September
1656 at the Prague castle and the Holy
Roman Emperor on 1st August
1658 there he
[Music]
is besides other things Leopold tried to
initiate the completion of the
construction of the saint by
Cathedral the foundation stone was laid
on 3rd September 1673 but after 4 years
the activity had to be quit for
financial
reasons okay let’s go see the cathedral
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
and we have a long
line to go inside let see how
long it would be nice to see inside but
uh okay this doesn’t seem so
[Music]
bad okay change of plans so it turned
out I needed to have have a ticket
before getting in the line which I guess
you can get maybe right there but in the
meantime then the line got a lot longer
and I just kind of decided
that I’ve been inside a lot of
cathedrals and I’m not in the mood for
uh the line and the crowds in general
and would rather just get walking
head down to the
uh
river walk across the Charles bridge
and for now just show more of
the spectacular outside of the
[Music]
cathedral incredible uh
clock
there
[Music]
and artwork
[Music]
here looks like
depicting aspects of uh the life of
Jesus and
Angels various
Christian
uh figures and perhaps historical people
not sure but
[Music]
uh
there a man
like inside
of a crypt kind of looks like Angels
maybe rescuing people from the
underworld is my best guess there
[Music]
and then I’m
assuming that must be Jesus right
there Adam and Eve the
[Music]
snake Jesus on the
[Music]
cross looks like probably some local
people a hunter
with I guess that’s a
dog around his neck there I was thinking
it was a deer at
first is it a deer that he just hunted
or a dog that is his companion hunting
companion can’t quite tell but
[Music]
uh cooking up a pig whoo a scorp
[Music]
interesting and this is the main
Courtyard the other one was the
secondary
one another
line
Star kovski pxo Palace I’m
assuming okay let’s
do the
walk down to the vava
river love all the
stone the
Cobblestone magnificent wooden
doors okay okay what is that
saying looks like 16 and then
IHS m r a z9 huh some
cherubs a lion on a
shield so much symbolism
here and another Courtyard
there you can see it looks like
bohemi so
Bohemia is the
uh ancient uh nation of uh the Czech
Republic this General
region previously called Bohemia
okay let’s uh pop inside here to show
the inside of
somewhere looks like George
Sanctuary basilica
jiri so St George
[Music]
Basilica
continue I don’t have a ticket yet
y so I had realized that I needed a
ticket for there as well and just wanted
to show the inside a little bit at
least so let’s get down into the
city there is a lot to see in Prague
this is certainly not going to be a
fully comprehensive tour
I am here for three full days and so I
have more time to uh show more of Prague
but actually my priority
is getting outside of Prague and seeing
more of the Czech
Republic when I was here before I only
visited Prague
[Music]
so I will plan to go to chesy Crum
laav and we’ll see where else but I
might do some day
trips from here in the next day or
[Music]
two there you can see the vava river and
Charles
bridge okay that is is not Charles
bridge right there or is
it let’s find
out here we have the South Gardens I
am attempting
to retrace my steps kind of and uh get
back to where
I entered the castle
before because I really like the uh old
toown area that I was walking through
there so I think that that will be back
up here but uh from here you get
more amazing views of the
[Music]
city you can get a sense here of
why this is
the largest ancient castle in the world
Castle complex of many different
buildings but uh I mean this right here
is just
[Music]
gargantuan and so from here I can
confirm that indeed that is not the
Charles bridge there that I’d seen from
that Viewpoint because here I recognize
that uh Tower from last last night when
I walked across the river and had dinner
over there and that Tower is at the
other end of the Charles bridge which is
the most famous bridge in Prague over
the
[Music]
vava yes so here you can see
priad Prague Castle K most Charles
bridge so I started the video right
around the corner here so I’ve come full
circle
and the sun has come out at least
for a few moments
and I am now going to uh head down these
stairs that will lead down into the old
town
and to the
river so this is really a classic old
style
Street beef
goulash Cafe Restaurant established
1527 look at
[Music]
that and then look at this uh building
here
medieval
Tavern scared by the
man funny look at this
[Music]
medieval accommodation apartments two to
four people separate rooms bathroom
kitchen information inside the tver okay
is this
[Music]
oh
[Music]
whoa
unfortunately you probably you can’t
really get the
uh full effect because it is so dark but
man this is seriously like a dungeon so
there is the uh
restrooms and
then going down further you got to watch
you don’t bang your head wa these are I
guess tables you can sit at it must be
quite a
scene in the evening
when it’s fully Alive
wow this is really phenomenal I mean
this is the real
deal oh wow it is so warm in
here hello
[Music]
so yeah more tables here that you can
sit
at this is so just straight out of Lord
of the Rings or Dungeons and Dragons or
something like
that and
another statue of a man sitting here
[Music]
[Music]
well last night I had been saying that I
was looking for a dungeon like
restaurant looks like that is the one to
uh go back to sometime
[Applause]
Deo
genitori another nice Square here
let’s see about going
inside this church
here looks like it might be easier
[Music]
oh
[Music]
the weather is so all over the place I
was
overheating took off my jacket and scarf
and now now a chill
wind there is the Charles
bridge let’s take a closer look at
the old style tram
go
the old and
new speaking of
old what year was that car made
so I guess that uh weed is legal in the
Czech Republic I assume because I walked
past his
shop on the way going up there just a
little while ago
whoo
that and
uh there we was this box kind of
like
those boxes with the toys and the claw
that you try to grab the uh Toys out of
so like a you know plastic uh not glass
but seethrough plastic box and inside it
was buds like just a big pile of buds
I guess it was a yeah that’s right it
said coffee shop on the outside
which in Amsterdam of course a coffee
shop is not where you go to get coffee
okay here we go this one more
obvious great timing weed shop premium
marijuana THC CBD and plants right there
in the
window so
yes it is
obviously very
legal okay I thought that said something
else at first
pens Snoop
Dog not only
CBD THC
cookies sativa
hi cartridge dab cartridge I don’t even
know what you use those for is that like
for Vaping or something CBD
oil okay let’s uh walk in here you
see OG push Super Skunk Gorilla Glue
Jack
hair so I thought that I would wander
down here
and see what this is Art
Cafe okay I guess that is the art
[Music]
CFE I figured it was
[Music]
[Music]
oh and here we
go lesser Town Bridge Tower there are
two towers on the Lesser Town end of the
Charles bridge connected by a grand
Gothic gate Judith’s Tower is the
Romanesque style lower one dating back
to the 12th century it is older than the
bridge the
tall lesser Tower was built as a proper
Bridge tower towers with a gate used to
be an important part of town
fortification in times when lesser town
was an independent territory
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
and there you can see see the Prague
Castle
complex the Charles bridge over the vava
[Music]
river so for those who haven’t seen the
uh previous two videos
then this is just the beginning of my
next big Epic Journey so the last time
that I was here in Prague in
2018 that was the very end of a long
trip of mine I had to look back at my
old videos to
remember where I was
before here and where I went
next so I flew from here to Helsinki
Finland and then that was the end of
that trip this
time I am here at the very
beginning flew here from Portland Oregon
yesterday no more flights booked as of
now the plan is
to spend the next couple of weeks or
so in the Czech Republic and Slovakia
and
then I will see after that
but I had previously been to Prague here
and Bros Slava Slovakia but hadn’t seen
more of these countries and they are
kind of lesser known
countries yet with a lot to see and so I
wanted to see more beyond the
capital cities
after
that not certain yet but the plan is
definitely to get back to the
Mediterranean before everyone else
before the churis crowds come in July
and
August
so yes returning to Greece maybe
Italy Maybe
some Spanish
Islands
perhaps return to the canaries
or the azors and Madera both Island
archipelagos of Portugal in the
Atlantic maybe
Norway where I also have only seen the C
Capital
Oslo
but it is all yet to be
determined okay let’s uh see if these
guys are going to make some
music all right here we go
[Music]
and I have something to give
[Music]
them
so on the right that is
50 karuna and then
10 5
22 1 so a nice selection
[Music]
of their coins so 50 10
five that
is 70 wait wait no that’s different is
that another
50 okay can’t quite
[Music]
see what that
is is that another
10 not certain I love their coins
though anyway that
is about $3 us or3
[Music]
a

so I guessed something about the angel
Gabriel feeling the chill it all depends
on whether or not the sun is out
okay
so I have now returned to where I ended
the
video
yesterday and where I will end the video
today there is
certainly much more to see of This truly
incredible City
so we’ll
see where I
go in the coming
days let’s wander
down here and
finish up at this
uh Little
Square where I ate last
night a very nice uh
pedestrian area lots of touristy
restaurants and
shops in the old style

Gabriel marihuana with THC content is illegal to sell so all those shops in tourist area are scams
look video of this czech guy who is specialized with uncovering tourist traps and they are many in Prague
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0Al4qCnZcU
the way you move your camera always gives me motion sickness 😕
things that get overlooked in Prague.. THe airport is no fun travel to/from. i recommend to take the train if possible… Prague has the coolest old town. at night, i def recommend to check out the bars. they have the most "theme" bars. which is awesome!! unique restuarants
Love it all
17:21 Yes. The largest castle. I guess tax payers did not mind back then
Prague is a beautiful city, great videos so far! I would love to go back there again. My girlfriend and I are currently at the end of our trip in Italy, it hasn’t been to busy for us visiting Rome and Naples. It has been fun. Keep the great content coming! Cheers from Idaho USA!
25:30 How did they manage to build such churches?
Thanks for sharing. The Cathedral looks so similar to the one in Barcelona.
Prague is very picturesque! I'm happy you were able to be back in the US, but I am glad you are back making your epic videos.
Had to watch again Gabriel 😅❤😊
dobry den Gabriel , do you plan a visit to Karlstejn
what a stunning city indeed
looks nice! omg 24 .10 outside the church the guy is the spitting image of the hotel clerk in the movie hostel, freaky bro haha
90 minutes of videos all on the same city and all within 24/36 hours? Seriously?
I'm quickly becoming an ex fan and ex subscriber Gabriel, after being a big fan for several years
Please calm down with the spamming
Quality over quantity please.
Cabriel, you said you were going to Greece. Will your travels take you to Turkey? Have you visited Istanbul? It looks like your kind of adventure.
Gabe Gabe it pains me that you are here in the CZ and in the wrong city. I have not heard anyone in your background even speaking Czech..>>?? Ha ha I know very funny. You love the london vibe? How are the prices. I live 35 kilometers in Kladno it's actually interesting and there are no tourists. I moved finally out of Prague after two decades of all the changes. Prague is beautiful for sure you should have came during the pandemic somehow?? Laughs. It was empty. So many other great cities to visit withought all the heads in your way. Anyway, I don't want to talk too much. Your friend J. bay area San Jose grew up born in 71 Santa Clara had to move to the south east in 85. Graduated in 90 arrived in Europe Germany in 92. You are more than welcome to come and crash on my couch in Kladno. I cook your kind of food rest assured. Kladno look it up very interesting and boring and everything is half the price. Get the hell out of dodge dude. Be well Sir, JJ
Czechia/CzechIts not pronounced Chechia, but Czekia.
Bohemia is not "previousely called" Bohemia, Bohemia is still called Bohemia and Bohemia is the largest of three lands in Czech Republic (Bohemia, Moravia, Czech Silesia)
I was serving as a soldier at the Prague castle back in the 90's (Prague castel guard) and when I had a duty at night I was walking around the castle totally alone with no turists around at all as the castle close its gates in the evening. It was surreal walking around the old walls at night in winter and hearing the bustling life and music bellow in the city whilst at the castle it was eerily silent.
And racists also….still a beautiful city
Enjoy your videos. I'm in Prague for another two days and will be checking out the castle area. How much time did you spend on the exterior areas of castle complex?
Those are Cbd stores
I hope you will visit Karlovy Vari!
Oh, if you go to Norway, you should rent a car and drive the Trollstigen, a mountain pass just like the Transfăgărășan you drove through in Romania, but very, very steep, going through the fjords!! There's a loop road there.
Also, drive the Atlanterhavsveien (Atlantic Ocean Road) from north to south, with bridges over the water, where very famous pictures of Norway are taken!!
You should also visit Bergen, Ålesund and Trondheim. If you decide to go further north, don't miss Bodø, the Lofoten archipelago and Tromsø, which is way up north!
Went to Prague for the first time in summer of 2022. Absolute tourist zoo of course, but for good reason. The entire center city is might as well be a giant UNESCO world heritage sight.
It is so nice to see Prague in all of its glory now. My husband was stationed with the US Army in West Germany when the wall came down. We made several trips across the border into Czechoslovakia mainly to Prague, days after western tourists were allowed in. It was quite a different scene then. The buildings were beautiful but in disrepair with much peeling paint, etc., and the communist soldiers and police presence was ominous.
City built on christian values which preserved by the architecture.
On my way to Prague rigtig now
The old golden mosaic on St. Vitus cathedral depicts the Judgement Day. You can see the dead rising from their graves and above all you see Jesus in mandorla as The Judge.
The Czech Republic is among several European countries actively working on cannabis regulation. While recreational use remains illegal, the possession of cannabis for personal use was decriminalized in 2010, and medical cannabis was legalized in 2013.Jan 15, 2024, Places Where They Sell Weed Is Not Full Strength!
How lucky you are Mr. Morris..I think life is nothing but a bunch of experiences …….. and you live to the limit….
Prague is a very popular tourist destination. If you want to see something, you have to buy tickets on-line in advance. The other option is to wait in line at the ticket office with no guarantee that tickets will still be available.
"Czech republic" was not "previously called Bohemia" ….. its still called "Bohemia"….. its just in English or German the region is now called differently. In local language, there is no distinctinction between two words ( "Cesky!= both Czech and Bohemia) , there is only one word. Its just "Bohemia" is from latin, and "Czech" is from the local language.
As a matter of fact, "Bohemia"("Cechy") is still official region in Czech Republic (basically the western 2/3rds of the country)….
The city definitely has the best architecture in Europe.
Weed is not legal, it's everything fake for tourists. 😀 Unfortunately, our police can't do anything with that because of stupid laws and corrupt politicians don't care, these shops are mostly owned by some russian or balkan mafia. I am really ashamed of my mother city, this is what tourists see as the first things – fake weed, fake absinthe and places which are trying to look like prostitution is legal, but it's not. We need to do something with that, but it doesn't matter who you vote, it's always the same.
i've been here going on 18 years but originally from Virginia. Prague is definitely an amazing city. I hope you get a chance to venture out away from the tourists area and check some other areas in the city. More than happy to meet up and show you around…Saturdays are also a great time to check out our Farmer's Markets, such as on Naplavka, which is on the Vltava river. Enjoy your time here!!
Amazing city. But very touristy and not such great food, aside from Vietnamese which was superb. Go there off season or your in a crowd.
We really enjoyed our visit to Strahov Library while in Prague. You do have to book with a trained guide to be allowed to enter and not just look in from the doorway. It’s amazing. Our visit was delayed by a few minutes, as there was a reception being attended by the former First Lady that was just wrapping up.
We also discovered an artist colony while walking down towards the river. No tourists at all, lots of art pieces, sculptures, paintings etc. our guide used to live in the area and took us through.
Just watched that sunset bridge clip that was stunning
Really more because you definitely paused for that view. My girlfriend and I call you lost Gabriel I’ll explain if we cross paths. Peace&joy brother
I lived in Prague for over 20 years! Best city in Europe! 💜💜💜💜💜
Hi! What hotel did you stay in?
Thank you Gabriel for a great video! I just wanted to add that the soldier Sveik (Shveik) painted on the restaurant's front sign is a funny character that was created by Yaroslav Gashek.
Czechoslovakia existed since a bit earlier, 1918, since the break-up of the Austro-Hungarian empire.
whats up gabriel im a huge fan of your videos, quick question will u visit a STAR FORT on any of your trips, STAR FORTS BASTION FORTS are on every continent almost every country around the world they even have STAR CITIES atleast couple hundred if not thousands they r AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL AND ANCIENT BUT EVERYWHERE EVEN THE STATUE OF LIBERTY IS ON A STAR FORT, LITTLE KNOWN FACT.
