bagel place in N yes I know almost
unheard of so far away from New York

bagelstein so we’re going to go check it
out okay on Google it says it’s open I
guess you you can’t believe Google
closed shut tight as it can
be I guess Google lives okay no problem

J okay so we’re at the next one Emily
and the cool
kids it’s open okay let’s see what the
sign
says there it is bagels okay so there’s
a 50/50 chance that if you walk
inside well here we are at number two
Emily and the cool
kids so I see on the sign it does say
Bagels
question is will she have
Bagels the good news is it is definitely
over that means
open well this is looking good there’s a
home menu full of
[Music]
bagels so the question
is what to
get it’s very cute in here
[Music]
[Music]
and we’re sitting on these comfy chairs
the little
table so as usual I order ice tea I
think all the iced tea in France is
s Peach
flavored
Jeff my dining date is having a
Pepsi okay my first comment is wow I
ordered a bagel with cream
cheese huge huge bagel with cream cheese
there’s the size of my hand there’s the
size of the bagel
okay Jeff ordered a bagel with bacon egg
and
cheese look at that gorgeous bagel’s not
as big but it looks
delicious I should add that my bagel is
warm so all of the bagels appear to
being toasted before they come out I
believe their website says they make
everything
here so we will see how it
[Music]
tastes interesting way to eat your B
Stu but here in France they eat
hamburgers with a fork so why wouldn’t
jef cut his Bagel egg
[Music]
and
[Music]
fore spe speech
[Music]
for our wedding anniversary we went to
one of our favorite restaurants I am

his margarita pizza and now he is
helping me with
my pasta bungala cuz it is so delicious

[Applause]
so today we are at a new restaurant that
we’ve never been to before it’s called
Gina and we are actually waiting for
some new friends to join us and I
thought while we’re waiting I would show
you the menu
[Music]
and at the end the trick is to do a
little
twist and that’s how I learned to pour
by watching below deck Mediterranean a
TV show from America and now I am Suave
and sophisticated and European
[Music]
so here we are at
Gina and this is at
plina in nce and plas meina is the area
here has
these famous statues at night they light
up in different colors
and it’s very hard to see of in the
distance but there’s also the fountain
that is way out that
way and so we met some new friends here
for lunch and it’s a beautiful
day so we are headed home
[Music]
it’s Sunday morning and this morning we
are taking Bella and we are going to cor
Salia perhaps grab some breakfast or
brunch or lunch depending on when we get
there and Bella is always excited when
she gets to go somewhere with us other
than a walk around the block so we’re
waiting at the
tram going
bye-bye yes Bella is going bye-bye today
that fun this is actually it looks like
some kind of a club the baby Club I
don’t know that we’ll go there but
[Music]
hey here we are
[Music]
breakfast there’s Bella Bella is all
ready to have some good food
have the biggest Double Espresso at this
restaurant I keep forgetting that it’s
so big here next time I think I’m going
to order just a regular single
espresso so last time I was here I had
the pancakes breakfast this morning is
pancakes with a red berry compost and I
have to tell you I love the size of
these
pancakes sort of reminds me of when I
was growing growing up my dad would
always make me little pancakes silver
dollar pancakes and I prefer little
pancakes cuz I can’t eat those giant
ones there’s just too much pancake so
this is beautiful and perfect and so
they were so good that I ordered them
again
today Jeff is having a Caesar salad
orange juice out
of it looks delicious delicious there’s
Bella
is
hoping Bella loves
pancakes so today I’m looking for dried
hydrangea we’re at the flower market
here at cor
salaya pretty flowers look at those
roses willow you don’t see
willow in Florida I haven’t seen them in
years beautiful
orchids beautiful buan Vila
[Music]
oh look at the little olive
tree that would be
[Music]
interesting beautiful flowers
[Music]
one similar tried
[Music]
it so this these flowers look like
hydrangea but the lady told me they’re
called
Hans I don’t know if that’s the French
name for hyrangea or that’s simply the
name of those flowers they’re beautiful
more of those beautiful
[Music]
flowers it’s very crowded here today as
you can
see everybody’s here at the flower
market here we have corette
flowers those are zucchini
flowers aren’t they beautiful and you
stuff them and you bread them and then
you fry them and they are actually
delicious we have lots of fruits and
vegetables today
the fruits literally look like they were
just picked off the tree
[Music]
for
[Music]
and today we bought some asparagus and
here are more corette
flowers how
beautiful look at these beautiful Ary
ches
[Music]
these are tomatoes
unbelievable right off the trees
[Music]
so those are the mountains above us are
the
hills and now we are going to head up to
the promo
dang
voila here we are at the prominade deang
overlooking the beautiful
Mediterranean it is an extremely windy
day
today see the white caps on the
water the sea is rocking and rolling out
there look at
that and yet there are people below
us
bathing makes it ch
there’s Jeff he’s found a nice seat
making a new
friend Bella is a real chick
magnet windy today isn’t
it very windy very
windy good day for a
sailb this is what’s behind me as I
stand on the
Pang see all the people sitting outside
having lunch or just enjoying the
sunshine very closely the top of that
Hill hope I’m getting this
video is a beautiful
waterfall and share it with
you it’s so bright out here I can’t see
what my camera is picking
up people are having picnic on the beach
it’s like pizza and wine
so we found a beach with sand on it
which is actually very unusual here in
me most of the beaches are those Pebbles
that you see up closer to the
water s
sand time we love
here are the ICONic blue
chairs the blue
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
so we’re headed back home now so we got
off of the
prominade the wind has reduced
significantly just by getting off the
prominade
foreign fore
speech spee
here we go
[Music]
than for the
[Music]
when you see a familiar name you just
have to stop and at at least
look o la la look at that
purse
beautiful okay the skirt’s a little
short for me
but that is a cute top wouldn’t you
say I wonder how many how many big Euros
that one
costs cute Chanel
belt okay which way are we going to
go okay here we go
oh my gosh now buildings keeping that
wind
down much more comfortable
[Music]
spe
[Music]
[Music]
that
[Music]
so let’s see what I got
well got a bag
of
Clementines and these are from
Israel how big they are
big and
beautiful and here we
have has a basket of beautiful
strawberries then I got some bananas and
one of one of these little melons I
think it it’s actually kind of hard I
think I’m going to let it right back a
little bit before we before we cut
it and I bought some fresh asparagus and
these are huge
Spears so I only got eight of
them and hopefully we can have them with
our dinner this evening the last thing I
got were these I don’t know for the lack
of a better name I’m going to call them
ugly
tomatoes and I couldn’t tell if the sign
that was near them was talking about
them it appeared that something right
near where they were said it was from
pant so I don’t know if the tomatoes
were from provance
or I don’t know but I thought I would
give them a try and see if there is any
um value to buying them is their quality
are they just ugly are they full of
water that yellow one is very heavy
[Music]
la la la la la

Welcome to our new life in Nice France!
I must apologize for the sound on this video. It is a bit up and down and the wind was terrible. While I wanted you to hear the wind, it did make it hard to hear us sometimes. If you click on the setting for subtitles, once you start the video, and turn the the subtitles on, you’ll be able to see what was said. Even though they are generated automatically, they follow fairly well.

Hi! I’m An Scott. I’m a happily retired 70 year old woman with my “golden years” on the horizon, living the “good life”, whatever that is on any given day, with my fun husband Jeff, and our “bossy” little Yorkie, Bella.
We have recently moved from the USA to the beautiful south of France and made our new home in Nice France. Moving from the USA to a foreign country is no small “project”. Through my videos, we’ve been taking you through the process, sharing the steps, talking about what we’ve learned and the ups and the downs. And now, we continue to share our life, our new life, here in Nice, getting settled, adjusting to the “French” way of doing things, dealing with the French “red tape” and all the while, making every wonderful day in Nice, the best day ever…

bienvenue å Nice!
Sorry, I couldn't get the accent right.
The "ugly" tomatoes are actually a variety called "heirloom" tomatoes. They come in several colors – red, yellow, orange, green – and are best eaten raw on sandwiches or salads rather than cooked. More flavorful than a beefsteak, roma or tomato-on-the-vine variety.
I am watching with my husband Bryan. We have made the decision to follow in your footsteps. We are learning French and have started to prepare our house for sale early next year.
That’s Nalvany.
The photo of the man at the bottom of the Statue of Liberty looks like it might be Alexei Navalny, a popular Russian political activist who recently died in prison in Siberia. He led a movement against Vladimir Putin and many believe he was murdered to prevent him from gaining power. There is a 2022 documentary you can watch on many streaming channels including YT to learn more about him.
Happy Birthday Jeff and Congratulations to you both on your anniversary! May you enjoy many years and have a healthy and happy life together. Keep exploring Nice and we look forward to hearing more about how you are settling in in the weeks ahead.
Happy anniversary ! Nice vlog. But be careful when filming people, we have a law here called " droit à l'image" ( same as most EU countries). You should have the explicit authorisation to film someone even in public space, like the guy in the bagel restaurant, authorisation for filming and for publishing on internet.
Heirloom tomatoes are by far the best tasting tomatoes. The yellow ones have less acid than the red. More expensive but worth it
It's wonderful to see you two settling in! Whenever you dine out everything looks delicious. I will be retiring to Nice in the near future and your videos make me so excited about my upcoming adventure!
BELLA iS SO ADORABLE!!!!❤!!!!!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!
