want to get Rudy Dy Ry Dy out for a walk
as you can tell in the mornings he’s
very excited yes we’re going I’ve had to
move the camera because um he’s so
excited he’s going to knock it down one
of the beautiful things I’ve discovered
about having to wear waterproofs on
pretty much nearly every single walk is
um I can put them on over my pajamas and
nobody’s any the
wiser look at that it really does
minimize the amount of washing because
you can just they just like over
trousers they’re brilliant right shall
we

more interesting news though Cottage
news we have big exciting

in my perfect waterproof pajama pants
plan and that is this has not happened
before by the way so um I didn’t really
thought it through but on the off chart

cannot remove the waterproof pants

ever done that it it becomes a sweaty
mess and I mean a seriously sweaty mess

I’ll make this quick cuz as soon as I
got my coat off I think there’s rain
coming but last time we saw you I think
we was very frustrated cuz it was all
taking a rather long time and we had an
appointment at our solicitors which we
for sake right what was I saying so
we went to the solicitors we’re very
frustrated Emily needed to go home to
sort some stuff out for work etc etc etc
U we didn’t know what we was doing but
we went to the sors and there we signed
contracts and set a preliminary date for
when we would be getting the house so
all very exciting stuff but that still
needed to go over to the seller solic
for the seller to confirm that they was
going to be okay so in the meanwhile
Emily decided to go home anyway so about
a week ago almost a week ago I took her
to knock airport which is on the west of
Ireland dropped her off at the airport
so she could make her way all the way
back to England and then tomorrow she’s
going to be coming coming back she’s
going to be coming back in her car so
it’s going to take her 2 days to get
here so she’s setting off today but she
won’t be back tomorrow her car she’s
just going to pick up some bits we need
her car won’t be staying in Ireland a
little Vox adland so she’s going to
bring some stuff over so it’s all very
exciting so very very very very soon we
should finally finally be in and yeah
this is difficult with him it is going
to rain so um I’m going to bug her off
and leave you with Emily who should be
hopefully all the way over in Kent
welcome to Ken I believe Louise has
given you the most amazing news and I’m
so so excited I cannot wait

so this is quite a long drive for me I
got to go from here in Kent I got to
navigate the M25 then I got to drive all
the way across England up to Chester I’m
going to spend the night in Chester
before I then drive over to North Wales
on the aisle of angle SE get the ferry
from there over to Dublin and then try
and find Lou somewhere wherever she is
so yeah don’t know how this is going to
go but I have got loads and loads of
Scandinavian snacks which one of you
like kindly sent me so thank you very
much but yeah let’s get on the road I
need the keys keys are in my pocket
where are they we’re off to a good

start I actually love coming back
because I get to see family friends
catch up with work I I really really do
enjoy it but I am so excited and I
cannot wait to be going going

home well after what was quite a
miserable start this morning it has
turned into a beautiful day and they’re
giving this weather here in Ireland for
the next two whole days in a row so I
reckon this might be the Irish summer so
it’s a shame Emily’s going to miss it
this year but never mind anyway whilst
Emily is traversing the entire whip of
Great Britain all by herself blesser
with my ukulele hopefully I making a
little journey of my own I want to get
to a park up that’s much closer to
Dublin because we’ve never done Dublin
Ferry pool before so Emily’s got to do
that for the first time and then I don’t
want her to have to drive a long way to
come and find me cuz it’s quite a long
travel day for her but on the way I’m
quite excited cuz I need to make a quick
detour and pick up a couple of parcels
that I’ve been waiting
on wait there a minute bad I’ll be back
in a sec
they there some me stay there
cat this one’s not very exciting that’s
just a septic tank friendly chemicals
for the toilet this one however I’m very
excited about but
not going to share it with you Josh yet
cuz I want to check it over and make
sure everything it’s okay right one stop
down one to go proceed to Sligo road
then turn left okay I can do

right officially my first Irish traffic
jam I reckon it must be Market day or
something I don’t know but there’s a lot

once again we have found ourselves
parked up next to canal canal spots have
been quite handy in Ireland uh mostly
because there’s usually toilets and
whatnot and it’s quite amicable for Van
parking noisy I don’t know if you can
hear all the Rockers and stuff outside
is very busy out there still it’s about
7:00ish now and um it’s packed still I
think because it’s the first proper
sunny day everybody’s out and about and
why the hell not it is beautiful out
there I didn’t film all my dinner and
all that jazz from this afternoon
because you know you’ve seen me up
a frozen pizza in the past I’m sure once
is enough you don’t need to see that
again but I do need to thank this week’s

this weather is absolutely cracking
we’ve got the Mist we’ve got the
sunlight I’ve just taken AJ for a nice
long walk along the canal bloody

um with me doing the long walks with AJ
and Emily not here I don’t like to leave
the van unattended for too long when
we’re really Urban so yeah Emily’s going
to have about an hour to get here when
she gets off the ferry but I think
she’ll be fine the ferry gets in about I
don’t know tea time is so she should be
all right but yeah I’m going to go for a
run so yeah let’s go and see how she’s
getting on on the other side of the
water

M good morning oh I had such a good
night sleep last night it was so nice
the bed was lovely and this week has
been so so busy for me I’ve been like
doing loads and loads of work going to
site and trying to fit in family and
friends and stuff so I just needed I
went to sleep at half 8 halfast 8 I
haven’t even brushed my hair I need to
get ready I need to have a shower pack
up my stuff get some breakfast and then
yeah get
going I have been looked after so much
this week I stayed at hotel Joanie and
hotel mom and I tell you what I swear to
God if I don’t put on like half a stone
when I’m back at these visits I’ll be
surprised because I am fed so well Jan’s
made like why don’t she make fruit fruit
cake oh so good as well but I am looking
forward to going back I can’t wait to
see AJ and S and the van and then Lise
do you know what I said to her I said do
you miss me Lise and she said well yeah
obviously because I’m wasting away I
have to offend for myself so yeah I’m
glad I’m glad she really misses me for
the right
reasons idiot
the drive yesterday was quite a long one
for me I haven’t driven that far in
probably 8 years I reckon cuz normally I
just like shoot off Here There and
Everywhere but I don’t ever drive like
all the way up country Louise does a
drive in not because I don’t want to
drive or obviously I can drive as you
can see but because Louise is such such
a bad passenger that you know when oh it
just made you a bad driver that sounds
really bad but she
like where’s my break where’s my break
and holding on and I can’t deal with
that I just want to drive like nice
comfy and chill out and stuff so it’s
always better that Louise does the
drivein and I just be the passenger and
provide the entertainment basically to
keep her going but yeah the drive was
quite actually I’ve got a new fan
respect for people that do long drives
by yourself because you know what that
is boring and then you get like the num
bum and stuff and I’m suffering a little
bit with
sciatica at the moment so i’ been like
hobbling along but it wasn’t too bad in
the car I think once you get in a
position you’re all right you know but
anyway I need to carry on packing up get
some fuel and get on the
road the excitement is kicking in now I
can’t wait to go home I can’t wait to
give my babies a little kiss and a
cuddle and I’m so excited about the
house that’s going to be like oh my God
that’s going to happen soon

hour and a half drive when I get there

long for and a half hours by

Up Before Emily gets back because if she

absolutely heaving again it’s packed
there’s a pub over the road and
everyone’s having a great time so it’s
nice but it does mean I can’t have the
door open and stuff and it is very very
hot I think it’s like 18° which in here
it’s going to be like 20 odd and I
remember now why we don’t like van life
in the heat um I am missing Emily though
it’s nice like I think we spoke about
this many times before separation is
brilliant when you live in a space this
small and it is tiny in here for two
people let alone two people a dog and a
cat well yeah when it’s this small it
does get tough and I think this is the
longest stint we’ve ever done I think
it’s nearly 8 months now since we uh
left the house and we’ve been in here
every single day and night together
since then so it’s a long Old Time For
Us Emily does normally managed to find
an excuse to fly away for a few days but
it’s been a long one uh so when she said
she was going I was very much we both
was very much looking forward to it but
it only takes a few days and then I
can’t wait for it to come back so that’s
always a good thing no one’s missed as
much though as that one down there she’s
been fixated on something out the back
window for about an hour but I’d say out
of all of us Su are misses Emily the
most uh purely because Emily will get up
at half 4 in the morning and feed her
whereas I refuse and we have this
ongoing battle so not slept a great deal
since Emily’s been gone but we’re
getting there but yeah definitely summer
misses are the most and then AJ and me
like I say cuz Emily will feed her I
think snack Bandits they must stick
together

very very excited and very nervous van
here this morning this is the week we’re
about to buy a house how are you feeling
oh I don’t know if I can hold this I’m a
bit shaky honestly I’m so excited but
yeah it’s a bit of a a butt clenching
one isn’t it so situation update we have
we have um all the final closing
documentation don’t we we do indeed uh
all the contracts are done we’ve signed
the contract track s everything’s ready
to go all we’ve got to do now is
transfer the money we’ve got to pay for
the bloody thing we’ got to pay for it
and like because we’re paying for it in
cash I know that sounds weird but
normally you do like the mortgage and
things like that and it’s done through
banks and all of that stuff but so if
anything goes wrong it’s the bank’s
money that’s going to get lost minus
your deposit but we’re paying uh for the
whole thing ourselves so yeah we’ve now
got to track and also it’s cuz we’re not
in England we’ve got to get out of
England um the bank exchange rate is
ridiculous they Stitch you right up so
we’re going to use a money transferring
service there’s a limit on my bank
account so we can’t do it all in one go
which is probably for a good thing cuz
you know it’s a fraud and all of that
stuff so yeah so we now have to spend
the next couple of days getting the
money over and then then a couple of
days so by the end of this week fingers
crossed we should have we should have
keys very exciting oh my
god oh I don’t know I don’t know if I
want to laugh cry poo whatever I don’t
know I know I know it’s been a long time
if you’ve been following along it took
us seven months to sell our house in the
UK uh with no chain it was an easy sell
and six months I think we’re at now for
buying this one for buying this one it’s
it’s been long and been a journey yeah
we’ve been in the van for like eight
months of that as well that that’s been
tough that’s the hardest part yes so um
yeah we we’re obviously not going to
film the next few days because I don’t
we love you but we can’t give 100,000
people our bank details that but can I

cool like they have like these silly cow

called mad so I think they’re more
likely for me let let us know in the

them I think I’m silly and you’re Moody
and mad maybe we’re both a bit mad yeah
I reckon we’re both a bit mad yes right

England to Ireland to find my wife and go buy a house – (Solo Female Van Life Ireland)

It’s finally happening, we are buying our remote cottage in Ireland! It feels like we’ve been waiting ages to start our 200 year old cottage renovation, and we have, but this week we should be closing on the sale and getting the keys to our very own little haven in the countryside.
In preparation, one of us had to go back to the UK, leaving the other one alone in Ireland for a bit of good old solo female van life, and the other, with an epic journey to traverse the whole of Great Britain alone! 😂
