What a stunning view of
the charming German town of Cochem and the peaceful Mosel / Moselle River! This was an early spring, rainy day view from the Reichsburg Castle entrance high above the lovely riverside town below!
We stopped in Cochem during our AmaWaterways river cruise and it was such a treat! Reichsburg Castle was a highlight (a tour is included in your AmaWaterways cruise fare), plus I really enjoyed other things during our day there. There are plenty of the famous half timber houses which are quite picturesque, there was an Easter Market happening during our stop so there were lots of booths to buy Easter goods, decor, etc plus food carts and a small kiddie ride. I had bratwurst with mustard on a toasty crusty roll and it was the stuff of dreams. I will forever remember that bratwurst, haha. I would love to go back in the later spring or early summer when there is more greenery… but I must say that despite the overcast day and the lack of flowers and greenery because of the season I was still blown away by the beauty of this place.
