Here I am walking in Cologne / Köln city, located in Western Germany, on a busy May day in 2024 with some of its major city’s attractions and top sights. This 90 minute walk offers one of the best ways of enjoying Cologne city’s beautiful Cathedral / Kölner Dom from inside and outside, its crowded shopping streets Schildergasse & Hohe Straße, the Altstadt / Old Town and also the famous Hohenzollern Bridge with its countless love locks. I am starting this tour directly in front of the Main Station, and head to the Kölner Dom and Shopping Streets, before I proceed to the Old Town. Cologne is the largest city of Germany’s most populous federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the fourth-most populous city in Germany. It houses slightly over a million inhabitants. The city is one of the most important commercial and cultural centers of Germany, home to numerous museums, galleries, arts and entertainment venues. One of its very famous cultural events every year is also the Cologne Carnival / Kölner Karneval.
