Ryougoku Ryogoku is a popular and famous place for sumo wrestling. The atmosphere around Ryogoku Station is already different from other stations, and you can feel the sumo culture. Yokozuna Yokocho Alley Yokozuna Yokocho is a narrow alley with many popular shops. The townscape is somewhat old-fashioned and gives you a sense of tradition. You can enjoy the unique atmosphere of this sacred place for sumo, Japan’s national sport. Yokozuna bronze statue This is a monument where you can feel the history of formal sumo wrestling. The handprints of past yokozuna are left on the pedestal of the bronze statue. It is a place where you can feel the uniqueness of Ryogoku. Ryogoku Station West Exit A statue of a sumo wrestler is erected to welcome tourists. Ryogoku Edo Noren Edo Noren, a food and beverage complex, is modeled after a sumo wrestling ring. There are many restaurants lined up, and there is also a real dohyo ring in the center that you can enjoy watching. There are some stalls where you can eat and drink outdoors, so it may be a good thing about Ryogoku that you can easily eat in front of the station without having to go far. You can also see special manholes in Ryogoku. I think you can have a little fun with it. Ryogoku Kokugikan Ryogoku Kokugikan is synonymous with sumo, but on this day it was reserved for another event. It is usually open to the public and you can even try sumo wrestling. Yasuda garden Yasuda Garden is open to the public and anyone can enter for free when the gates are open. If you look towards Oshiage, it’s a little-known spot where you can enjoy the garden and Tokyo Sky Tree at the same time. There is a sword museum next to Yasuda Garden. It is also a must-see facility for those interested in Japanese swords. This time we will head towards Kinshicho. Along the way, there are many towns with a downtown atmosphere and many places related to sumo. Hakkakubeya This is one of the club sumo teams. Once they are introduced, they compete and support each other in the room as one family. There are many sumo stables in both countries. Sumida Hokusai Museum Nominosukune Shrine It is said to be a shrine where the god of sumo resides. The names of past Yokozuna are lined up on the stone monument, and the number will continue to increase in the future. Oyokogawa Park At Oyokogawa Park, you can see the Tokyo Skytree while staying in the park. You can also see the Sobu Line crossing from this place. As you get closer to Kinshicho, there will be more bars. Kinshicho is famous for its downtown area. Kinshicho Station An area with the atmosphere of the downtown area of Kinshicho. Shopping street in front of Kinshicho Station Tokyo Skytree can also be seen from Kinshicho. I especially like the Tokyo Skytree seen from this street. Sumida Sakura Festival The Sumida Sakura Festival was held at Kinshi Park. You can enjoy eating and drinking while listening to sometimes intense and sometimes relaxing music. There are also booths where small children can have fun, so families can have fun together. There are many stalls, so you can enjoy cherry blossom viewing while enjoying a variety of food. The Kinshi Park Sakura Festival is being held at the same time, and there are many people enjoying cherry blossom viewing. Eating and drinking while looking at the cherry blossoms makes you feel like spring. The beautiful cherry blossoms can be said to be a seasoning that makes meals delicious.

This time, I walked around Ryogoku in Tokyo. After walking around Ryogoku, I headed to Kinshicho.
