[Music] good morning it’s Saturday I’m in a bit of a rush so um my lock didn’t work again today so I’m a little bit behind um but my sister and I are going on a day trip today so I’ll take you along with us we’re going to go to a castle and then we’re going to go to um Beethoven’s birthplace or house or whatever and then also the Hari B Store that’s the plan um so I’m going to take you along with me but I got to run so talk to you later heading out on this walk again I don’t actually know what this building is but there’s a lot of like labs like um buns and burners and [Music] stuff we’re attempting to get the daily pass for 24 hours within the region we succeeded after some dismay because the ticket machines are very sensitive and odd um but got the [Music] ticket okay we made it to the the first destination which is kig winter but it’s raining as you can see that’s where we’re eventually trying to go up there onto that Palace Castle thing I stand corrected that’s the castle we’re going so they make it look so inviting but look no adults only kids this Cafe is cute a restaurant such a cute little town here this is not looking promising for the restaurant or Cafe being open though so it should be it is [Music] open Tutti Frutti pancakes lot of fruits and then Americano so this was another Cafe I kind of um checked out it’s the jwes burn Cafe um but it looked pretty cute but it is connected with the hotel cross here we’ll [Music] see okay luckily the rain kind of slowed down SL is not here right now it’s still a little bit Breezy which is good but I think we’re going to take the train just because it had been raining and it’s a pretty steep climb like we’re at the Bottom now it’s still pretty steep you can’t see that video but yeah so that’s the incline and also the altitude Dragon ticket but [Music] also okay we got the combo ticket which is the Train on the bottom and then the castle entry on the top there’s also a free audio guide available okay taking the train it’s cute [Music] Seven [Music] Mountains [Music] wow we took it to the top of the mountain this is the last stop and then we’re just going to walk down to the castle from here [Music] the rain in the distance though we were actually just discussing this cuz we were like can you use the ticket more than once on round trip and yes you can actually interrupt The Descent at the castle and then continue on later this is the fenberg wow the trees [Music] [Music] wonder how many of those are the Viking Cruise the Viking Cruise basically goes all the way down the river and it has various different docking places I don’t know if they’re necessary ports but yeah there’s also so many people up [Music] here look how many people we’re kind of by where the path down is so if you’re curious It’s about 2.4 kmet walk and it’s pretty far up I would say Okay so we’re going to later go to Bon and that’s where bethoven is from but um if you look over here there’s another Bon it’s a very big area um and then in the distance we should be able to see the Cologne Cathedral um it’s kind of hazy and gloomy today though so not sure if you can actually see it but I think I can see it pointing up over there a little bit and through the clouds [Music] [Music] but okay So eventually we’re going to end up at that castle um but we’re going to see if we can go up to the ruins cuz when I was standing down there I saw a lady like a tour lady wearing a blue t-shirt that was up there so there must be some way also a cute little cafe here and you can take stuff to go try to climb a bit it’s pretty well paved I would say I think so far if you had like a stroller or wheelchair or something you would be able to do it it’s a little bit steep but not too bad spoke a second and a half too soon it’s pretty steep it’s actually pretty close not too bad maybe like a 2 and 1/2 minute walk okay we’re going to continue on walking [Music] up also I would say if you have a wheelchair you have to really control it walking [Music] down there’s also stairs when I’m going up to here to go see the top top okay so we made [Music] it there’s a lot of cargo ships on the [Music] river okay these are big drops of rain but it’s kind of cool not entirely sure what the ruins are from though oh the rain is coming really hard can you hear it s there’s already so many people in the train we just missed the train [Music] [Music] sitting in the front hopefully [Music] [Music] the other train’s coming up we just got off that train so you can get out at the middle station and then get back on cute little car snack cart if you have a dog they got some concessions for you it’s Wi-Fi okay we made it out to get in scan the QR code on your ticket okay so we just made it in and this is the first view you can see um but the entrance is around counterclockwise where’s the guy no baby not [Music] the ha of the 19th century [Music] just what is that what was that is there like a lion in here Coach House curently this is how you get to the top one um like what I showed you in the video for um right before the went into the Coach House right up in close and personal with a Turret insisted I did not see it before but here it is again it’s a little bit cleaner clearer SK the air is so clear now [Music] also this is a restaurant at the castle it’s the West Terrace it looks pretty cute and really great views this is the view obviously this is the North Tower going into the wedding chamber some more twisty tury stairs with these ones are [Music] wooden w so cool the guest bedroom of the North Tower it looks like it’s no longer being used as a bedroom well obviously not now but like I mean that’s a painting also we might be doing this a bit out of order okay we made it to the top it’s quite a climb a lot of little kids doing it though but it’s pretty Twisty [Music] turny the views are quite nice though so that’s north towards cologne which again we can still see in the distance we made it to the very tippity toppity also the metal thing holding this up is like kind of scary the icon of the Ry Romantic Period I would say I’ve never been really scared of heights but I’m feeling a little bit like vertigo right [Music] now out that was a lot of stairs by the way very narrow windy curvy staircases but now we’re back by the flower garden we’re on the inside [Music] now the hunting trophy at breakfast room two very different things hey kids do you know what that is is that a dumb waiter no that’s a serving area thank God no hunting trophies in there [Music] now lot of [Music] murals rich people really like [Music] hunting that poor thing never had a chance but I hope it’s not a do over I think it’s are pigeons there’s the dragon and the f com on the top so these are staining glass of explorers quote unquote I’m very anti Christopher Columbus we’re by the composers now we’re at The Poets [Music] and oh that’s actually kind of interesting my sister just pointed at Beethoven I was like that’s our guy later on we’re going to see him not him his birth place and house got some other world leaders I guess this is the tavern room you can see in it from the curly q staircase we were on earlier there’s a photograph okay these are I think Architects these are females I guess nothing specific about them just women I trusted my sister’s abilities they’re all queens I translated the sign so these are all Navigators [Music] explorers here’s the info about the Library I wonder if that Globe has how many countries that Globe has they did a lot of reconstructing and re refurbishing I can’t think of the word I couldn’t think of as restoration restoring I just saw something in here that’s very sad it’s so [Music] sad my sister apparently thought it was scary not sad this is the guest of honor bedroom getting ready for the day over there is nice here is the music room OIC there’s an orgon on the top here’s another sad animal here it’s brown this [Music] time little bit of a writing are area there’s more floors up but we can’t go into them now so my assumption is that these are all the cat of arms of the families but let me know if I’m wrong if you’re some sort of German historian on a way out now look what caught my [Music] eye there’s two of them [Applause] only two I was going to say maybe the street there a fountain [Music] dang a [Music] dog that one’s an Agony and this one is like can you be any more dramatic hres also dragons on the History tour of telephones there’s another one it’s a rotary telephone another one now we’re in like the active areas not where the rich people [Music] are one last time before we exit and there’s a bunch of like little path thingies here and ruins and stuff so we’re going to take a look there before we leave okay so my sister and I were just talking about this I personally think that the weather that we had today was kind of perfect for this because a lot of the rooms would have been super duper bright and you wouldn’t be able to see that much detail if if it was like super sunny out so having it be a little bit overcast was kind of Lucky also stifling oh yeah it would have been really hot too especially walking up those staircase it was pretty hot today but it was like it would be so much hotter are they I think that they look pretty ruined looks like they fell off the [Music] castle probably not Germans don’t like their signs oh there is well it’s not in English but I do think that they fell off the capsule we came this path otherwise we wouldn’t have seen the side of the castle because now we’re at a lower incline or lower uh oh my gosh altitude what’s the word so we can actually see more of the castle now we made it to the Sea of rocks not entirely sure what that is there’s definitely some Mossy rocks here though [Music] oh there’s a big rock over there little ones here okay I think now we’re coming up on the sea of rocks I think that was just a Inlet of rocks over there this looks more like a sea of rocks okay this area for sure is the Sea of rocks the other one was just the end entrance my sister wanted to live on the adventur side I was going to take the staircase Got Roots and stuff [Music] here that’s cool going down this hill eventually we have to go back up pretty sure cuz like the Castle’s way up there now so I would recommend just coming here for a different perspective of the castle if you want to take good photos cuz once you down at the bottom you have a really good view well not right now cuz of the trees I’ll show you shortly we found the up there’s an incline I would say this is not probably that doable unless you have an off-roading stroller cuz it’s not I mean it’s like a gravel crass but it’s not like T but got to go up there that’s the next Viewpoint now we’re by this bench and actually this is a pretty good Viewpoint like if you wanted to sit here and read a book or something you’d have to pay the admission fee to sit here but we’re coming up on some of the ruins now I [Applause] [Music] think okay so from here apparently with the trees if they lost their leaves in the fall you would probably be able to see that black house up there um we could see it from the bottom it was kind of like a green roof um but maybe you saw it in some of the other Clips I don’t know was like two houses so that one looks like somebody I should Liv in there with a pin wheel but there’s actually actually another house up there too but that white one here looks like actually people live there now so I don’t know maybe they are the C takers SE plane sign up above it did say a few of the houses are like in Ruins but ever since then I have like the memory of a little peanut so black haser so I think maybe they’re all the ones so this is um the ruins so over there what I showed you earlier like that helped um is going to be actually ruins from the other black house black house that I showed you so that’s where we came from it’s starting to rain so we’re going to head back to the gift shop and out this gift shop has like the aest selection of items I mean he’s cute but odd in case you want to try they will do it the other place I was at yesterday didn’t what does this poodle have to do with anything for these monkeys oh they want the monkeys a hedgehog Jacob and Tristan there’s a giraffe candle holder but then also the monkey is confused by that’s here too missed it again but that’s okay wow they’re actually like real [Music] running okay so I would say that the train is definitely the move we just saw people biking and they were like struggling really hard and they weren’t walking up so yeah the line to get into the rail way right now is so long it’s like they crowded the entire lobby area and the downstairs and they’re like climbing to go like online to go into the lobby area so definitely try to go there as early as possible especially if you’re here on a weekend because we’ve timed it perfectly there was like no people actually and by the time you get up to the castle I’m sure it’s going to be super busy now it’s 2:00 p.m. by the way we’re going to head over to the river cuz that’s where the tram station is and we’re going to go to bond oh my gosh another train um we have to get across this railroad track before we can go there um so we have to go by the river so at least we’ll do the river prominade that was on the walking tour guide that I’ve grabbed at the train station I grabbed this walking tour guide and we hit up most of the things but this is like the walking um downtown [Music] area okay we’re continuing our walk on this cute little Street the main street here lot of cute little restaurants and some buskers Etc okay by accident now we’re walking underneath this tree line prominade by the Ry River um we just missed the train so we have like 20 minutes to wait oh my gosh thank goodness we came to this tree when we did the weather app definitely said like only 50% change chance of rain for me from 8:00 p.m. and it’s like what 2:20 right now my sister said 50% chance this is like they got stuck I mean I guess they were already planning on getting maybe wet okay so we’re headed over to the tram station now cuz the rain kind of subsided for right now at least and this will take us directly to Bon um so that is like the birthplace of Beethoven and there’s some other stuff there as well and um we can use it within the regional daily pass that we bought at the train station here we are waiting to cross the street the first place I checked out is too busy so we’re going to try there okay so it’s about 3:30 and we’re having a liner because yeah just happened that way I finally got my shitel cuz I wanted to have on fries and a salad this is a huge meal I’m going to die my sister got a burger and different fries potato wedges okay so we’re on our way and by the way we are just going to randomly walk past Beethoven’s house so that’s two birds with stone there’s Beethoven the big statue in the winster CL a large post office got some free ice cream actually this is quite cute good promotion they even have like their logo on it okay now we’re at the Central Station okay so we’re taking the train 16 or 63 and we’re going to the Haribo outlet store okay so pretty quick and easy this way okay so it’s basically out of the station goes towards the Lial and then you’ll see it the horriable bear we probably won’t even buy anything we’re just going to look it’s only open Monday through Saturday until 6 I’ll try to show you as much as I can this is cute though it’s just a tin there’s also a stuffed gummy Cola 99 what is this cool there’s just so much here it’s like an entire Grocery Store with only Haro products I mean I was joking about getting a tub but you can get a tub 89 oh Cherry Cola so at the regular groceries is sp €19 so it’s like 10 Cent Savings I know what the heck are these they have some that I’ve never seen before and it’s not just because I’m not German I even read reviews and people were like they have stuff they don’t even have in the store there’s so many Koreans in here they have ice cube forms $2.99 some of these are more expensive so these must be the ones that are not not super rare or not super common $2.79 they got the black licorice there’s also vegan options I’m not going to go for that cuz I don’t like the texture wine gums oh my gosh there’s just so many these ones are so cute I’m in the light vegan jelly beans new chameleon flavor well I mean not going be flavor F fries marshmallows tropical fruit these are the small size oh they have it listed by which country these are Turkish ones they’re all Halal if I was getting eaten or strangled by a anaconda I don’t think i’ look so happy they have the Haribo spaghetti and they also have this one so they do have it labeled pretty easily to tell if it’s vegetarian or not or doesn’t have the animal byproduct so they have the strips as well have the yogurt ones and then the ones with the foamy texture on the back that I don’t care for Peaches I also don’t care for this one cuz of the texture it’s kind of like that foamy kind of a grainy texture but they have a bunch variety pack of the mini size salted pretzel shaped black liquor it says limited edition but not sure why you can buy just the flavor and color you want as well in big packages 1 kilo $3.99 for this tote and it’s the coke bottle oh and there’s one for the Bears this one is special flavor it’s main for kids I guess I might get it cuz it looks oh the cotton candy one looks disgusting but there’s in gell B on there plushes it’s the 100 year anniversary and they have a lanyard they have different bath towels $14.99 different colors dep which flavor and bear you like they have this other candy in here I didn’t know that they were owned by the same company but I guess they are I’ve never seen these but it’s probably just because I don’t care for that brand or that type of product but they have covered ones Cola covered with the crunchy candy shell there’s a USA Edition not sure what flavors what America tastes like but red white and blue there’s different flavors these ones are vegan the bastick so they have bulk options for you if you just want to serve your own but let’s just say there’s a lot of kids in here so I don’t know if I would trust it but if that’s what you want to do medium is 420 and large is 620 they have this huge mixed bag of tons of stuff there’s like crackers in here again I didn’t know this was the same company there’s also a litter for mini mix there’s also the wafer one they also have a 2 kilo bag of river Sport and you get like maybe 20 I think and then also some other candies but dang that’s a lot good value I’ve never heard of these they’re airdrops apparently they’re not hard candies eucalyptus Menthol fresh grape that’s grape right yeah ice mint this is limited too they’re like shaped like little travel Transportation shapes on this wall they have all of the international ones there’s like French Danish
Today, come with me and my sister to Konigswinter, have a cute brunch, and then go up the mountain to Schloss Drachenburg, a 19th century villa. Then, we go to Bonn for my key to-do item in Germany, stock up at the Haribo Factory Store (with prices). I do a tour and show you some of the special Haribo items available at the Haribo store. Then, we do a bit more tourist stuff things in Bonn and see the Beethoven house. And, another item off my list, finally had a doner kebab.
