The area “Efta Ai-Giorkies”(Seven Georges) is a complex of caves and ancient carved underground burial chambers on a rocky plateau southwest of Geroskipou. Geroskipou or Ieroskipou(Holy gardens) is a big town with lots of history of Paphos,Cyprus area.
This rare rock formation helped, the statement added, to keep the area in its natural form. Today some of the caves are used as places of devotion by religious people.
Presumably, the caves are dedicated to several or perhaps all of the saints.The saints lived on the past on those caves and they were hiding
The hiking trail is visited by many people on daily basis who like to a fantastic walk through nature either with their dogs,with friends or alone.
Must visit place to appreciate. Besides the multiple shrines and caves there is a little church devoted to seven Georges and there is also a tavern at the end of the trail by the main road.
