Ljubljana, Slovenia – With Da Boiz

[Music] Slovenia or more specifically lubiana it’s perfect but seriously it’s a glorious place from the moment Stu Jack and myself landed until the moment we left it was nothing but spectacular views and blue skies helicopter helicop this was our view when we stepped out of the airport imagine that when your commute to work every day even our journey to libyana from the airport was amazing nothing but stunning scenery from miles for those of us awake to see it after our bus journey into Lana it was a short walk to the center of town a walk with one particular sight that would have lured weaker willed bricks like a mirage in the vast desert [Music] after venturing down a few back streets and Alleyways we found our way to butcher’s bridge and we were treated to more amazing sites of the city and a view down one of the coolest Rivers you’ll see if there’s one thing you’ll never run out of in lubiana it’s places to eat and drink drink both sides of the river up and down are packed with cute little cafes Full Throttle restaurants and bars and a few hidden gems to tempt you and we managed to go through our entire 4-day trip without ever going to the same place twice on our journey through town down to a small local market we happened to look up and see one hell of a site overlooking the entire city lubiana Castle it was at that point Jack said one do boys and suggested that we head there the following day to see if it was as cool as it looked we took the scenic route to our Airbnb although every route in libyana is a Scenic group and when we opened the door to look around we all instantly wanted to pack up our lives at home and bring it here [Music] [Music] one of the coolest things about Slovenia is they don’t have to suffer the boring Grays and Browns in architecture that we do here in the UK and they don’t have the tedious copy and paste design philosophy either every building is unique and people actually live in them it helps make the city look and feel alive and exciting we spent the majority of our Thursday in town walking around getting our bearings and trying out the local restaurants and bars and these are the best places to learn the language from staff and servers a lot of waiters guides and bar staff were happy to help us with a more Cal ways to say things too the people of Lu are incredibly accommodating also everyone speaks multiple languages we met some people who speak two or three but the majority of younger slovenians speak up to six near fluently ranging from Slovenian and English to Italian Spanish Russian German polish Ukrainian and a whole host of other Eastern European Slavic and Balan languages it’s a phenomenal blend of culture as a result of its people its history and from being surrounded by so many other countries on Friday we decided to start our day with a trip to lubiana Castle if I could make an immediate recommendation to anyone thinking of visiting Luana it would be to have a day at the Castle I am not someone who enjoys touristy stuff and I’m even worse with long drawn out historical info dumps that some tourist spots like castles and museums can be but Luana Castle balanced views history information and experiences perfectly we started off by taking the hillside train to the castle and entrance which is included in the 16 price option for adults with a return trip which may seem like a lot but it also gives you access to all the exhibitions and features inside and is 100% worth it we made our way around the interior before heading up to one of the many viewing platforms which graced us with amazing views of the mountains surrounding the city man you got something ner looking as good as you look today we then made our way through a few of the museum exhibits before taking a spiral staircase up to the main tower did you wash your ass today to witness the most amazing cityscape views our photos and videos probably won’t do it justice but it looked incredible and truly showcases how gorgeous lubiana is we then had lunch in an amazing Cafe which sits within one of the most Picture Perfect Courtyards you could ever imagine being from the UK I’m used to all our venues and attractions charging disgustingly extortionate amounts for their food and drinks and basically just being modern-day scam artists wankers but this Cafe showed everywhere in the world how to do value we had a panini and a cocktail each that came to less than €1 each and they were delicious and generous portions I couldnot praise that level of pricing highly enough it feels like hyperbole but I almost suggested going back there for lunch every day our tickets also provided us access to various museums and Exhibits throughout the castle focusing on everything from ancient history stud what time is it it’s 12:35 now mate it’s night time to artworks and the more recent history of Slovenia and libana as we were leaving we decided to head down the castle paths instead of taking the hillside train and we’re happy we did y there are dozens of potential Roots but we took one that guided us across the outer battlements and then through a tiny Vineyard before a nature trail took us towards the city again and it was when we arrived back to the city that I had my first taste of a locally produced Union beer now I [ __ ] hate beer to me it’s bitter tastes cheap and does nothing to satisfy thirst or taste but Union beer is the first to ever change my mind in fact we all enjoyed it so much that we booked a tour of their Brewery for the next day later in the afternoon we stumbled across a massive food and drink Market known as open kitchen that happens every Friday from Spring until Autumn and it’s a really cool place to check out if you get a chance but fair warning it’s a bit chaotic there’s so many people there and it’s a bit pricier than the normal Riverside bars and restaurants but it is more unique food and drink from pop-up style independent vendors it’s definitely worth making your way around and trying some stuff Saturday rolled around and we felt like spending our morning in tavoli park just one of the many national parks in and around the city these gorgeous Gardens are a wonderful place for for a walk we barely explored half the space and we thought it was amazing and from tooli Park we made our way to the unon brewery this was a unique experience largely because it was a VR tour of the main Brewery followed by a walking tour through one of their original 1800s buildings that still houses some of their original machinery and stock firmly grasp it I won’t say too much about it because it’s quite a short tour but it is still really cool and good value for money this experience also further solidified my love for un beer and you’re treated to a few free samples at the end a few Sunday was our last day and also a bit of a strange day we were all hit quite heavily by the weight of our amazing experience and none of us wanted to leave after a short walk to check out the famous Dragon Bridge [Laughter] we decided to book a river tour and being on this River was a relaxing way to spend our Sunday if you do decide you want to do a Riverboat tour make sure you do a little bit of research because there are a lot of options B and then sooner than we wanted our trip came to an end sir Luana truly is a gorgeous wonderful and spectacular place and there’s still so much more to see and do than we did on this trip I got to tell you it was perfect perfect everything down to the last minute details so if you’re looking for somewhere unique and interesting to go on holiday why not try Luana peo

  1. A few people on Reddit have been commenting about my praising in the languages section of the video, so I feel I need to make an amendment:

Where I say "we met some people who speak two or three, but the majority of younger Slovenians speak UP TO SIX NEAR fluently" – it should really say, "we met some who speak two or three, but we met some younger Slovenians who speak UP TO SIX NEAR fluently".

  2. imagine not living in Ljubljana. BTW you have missed like a ton of unimportant stuff here, so if you decide to visit Slovenia again I recommend going to a different big city or a small town (just not Maribor, everyone hates that place).
