Disembarking MS Niew Amsterdam in Vancouver / Our Flight On American Airlines to Knoxville 2024

good morning everyone good morning from Vancouver we’re getting ready to pull into Port today will be a travel day but we’ll first we’re going to go down and get some breakfast we’re going to show you what the de boarding process is Don are you ready ready let’s do it let’s do this [Music] good morning Vancouver let’s go ahead and get to breakfast before it gets too crazy busy bed was super comfy we got all of our stuff packed ready to go we’re going to miss these little uh uh robes there was folks on the ship halfway through the cruise that’s all they wore was these every day what’s going that and it’s Sunday again folks get up early on this ship everybody where if we were on Royal Caribbean it doesn’t really start getting busy until 9:00 here it could be slam jam busy at 7 a.m. some potatoes and some potatoes and that’s breakfast this morning a little energy for today we’re going to have a lot of traveling about about 10 hours Al there’s Dawn’s breakfast this morning you got um that chocolate croissant you got some watermelon some uh sausage bacon you got turkey bacon on top of that breakfast with a view effect we’re about to go underneath the uh Lion’s Gate Bridge we flowing over the bridge we driven over the bridge and now we’re going under the bridge so we’ve pretty much been everywhere on the Lion’s Gate Bridge haven’t we it’s been a big focal point for Adventure on this on this adventure and there’s Vancouver off there we’re back you can see all the tops of the mountains now it was so cloud cover when we were here pretty pretty cool a lot of memories created here it’s our first sea plane we’ve ever been on down there Vancouver so the nor Dam just pulled in the port same time we do that means there’s going to be about four to 5,000 people looking for cabs oh boy that could be a problem yeah yes so we ain’t no 2,000 camps either we’re back at Canada Place this is it going say goodbye to our room bye-bye room byebye balcony bye-bye uh this room here was the biggest and the most amazing room I think we’ve had on any Cruise it it’s the bathroom is like twice the size I exaggerate a little bit but it’s quite quite big we are going to try to get off the ship as soon as possible because two ships pulled in the port we got to get to the airport we got three hours to catch our plane out that could make it difficult so I guess we start walking so we start walking you were a good room and the Rolling Stone expedited and self assist this embarcation to please make your way to the gang way located on Deck 2 and is accessible via the midship and Customs all you do is give your slip to a guy and you walk right through it was the easiest to enter Canada it was now we’re going to get some taxis here bon voyage and I think we’re in good shape I think we’re going to make it to the airport even with two ships docking at the same time I think we’re good I’m I’m actually stoked now and here comes the taxis to the airport terminal E Terminal E Dawn Big Blue’s going with so it’s going to be $41 Canadian [Music] and that was a finasco they’re having a marathon through Vancouver he had to go all the way around and it cost us $60 American cash but well worth it because a lot of folks are getting stranded right now so let’s go ahead let’s find American Airlines up there I think that’s us right there 11:40 and we have made it we’re going to go ahead and check in big blue get our boarding passes and we’ll be on our way got a little bit of time to spare today welcome to the United States huh we’re here in the dutyfree store and they have all your your Classics they have a lot of uh Canadian Canada last minute souvenirs got some really cute stuff too some T-shirts cookies little Maple cookies maple syrup everything Maple they even have some smoked salmon and you can even take some salmon frozen salmon home all kinds of goodies in here little party poppers kitkats Reese’s he some Kinders over here Don marshmallow ones and these guys are absolutely amazing yeah they’re little rcms mounties here they want to 14 Canadian dollars I think I’m going to get one and a new Little mascot for the trip pretty cool and there’s our flight 1140 to Dallas e78 on time that’s really cool kind of like a totem that has split in half and there’s a evil looking dude in the center of it I don’t know kuks and we’re going to stop for a little Hortons this morning I think I’m going to get a bagel and uh I don’t know maybe a doughnut or something so exiting the ship was a breeze you just kind of walked through and you held up your passport and gave your your little car that you filled out on the ship through uh TSA was good here uh US immigration was good here uh you do it here and um so we are going to be on our way to Dallas and we got some got some little breakfast sandwiches seeing that we’re going to be on the plane for 4 hours with no meal a figure we’ll kind of fill up here we got a a bagel right and I love t him Hortons look at that everything bagel big old Bagel huh I think the one supposed to be birthday cake birthday cake or glazed or something have to try one I’ll try the birthday cake it’s got some FR inside it is like birthday cake yeah at first he didn’t want to take us to the airport oh I know he kept seeing something of a marathon the marathon and um so I I gave him $60 American which it came up to $50 um Canadian so it a good tip right I’m not complaining because I we did see the marathon running the streets and I was like oh my gosh and he was saying that a lot of folks are probably going to miss their planes today uh the good thing was that we did get off the ship first we were like the first 50 people off and we got the first taxi technically almost out of there and we’re here and now we got 2 hours to spare I’d rather be here early than late we have 3- hour layover in Dallas we should be okay yeah y it’s it’s going to go good from here hopefully you never know that that layover could mess us up you know Adam our friend Adam he has problems with layovers he lately he has been he’s you know he he waited for like six hours 7 hours one day that’s our bird if you would like to take advantage of this compliment yeah gate 78 and then there’s there’s uh Vancouver down there I don’t think I’ve ever seen this before dog re relief area a little a little area so Pho can use the restroom I’m kind of curious on what it looks like I wonder oh it’s a little a little grass area area there and you oh and you can flush it too I guess we are our way back to the United States that’s our first time flying to Canada and uh they ask you for your passport like every step of the way they do it’s crazy better might as just have your passport like around your neck now that’s that’s our plane all right oh wow there it is there these guys are up bye so we’re on a 7:37 today got a little USB here there there’s Dawn got wet wet wipes in her hand like [Music] always and it is a full plane today Air Canada over there yeah should be pretty smooth sailing hey we’re like uh second from the last do have a nice window seat here so I can show you all what it’s like or at least what’s down below I don’t know it just gives you something new 4 hours to Dallas pretty cool not too bad 4 hours is about the maximum like to be on one uh of course go to England it’s like 9 hours that that that kind of gets to you after a while but at least they feed you and they keep you entertained like I got all the air blowing on me it’s broken of course Don she gets little air I get all Air you got air got to turn it I guess yeah I think I think it’s already open look at my look at my ear a it’s the little things in life you know and folks a very pleasant uh good morning uh from the flight deck uh we’re all ready to go up here for a flight down to Dallas for worth we are waiting uh for some traffic behind us uh to clear before we start our push uh for taxi out that’s a hold up right now but once underway it’s 3 hours and 33 minutes in route to Dallas Fort Worth airport and they’re reporting CL this guy 74° F down there in Dallas once we’re Airborne I’ll update the weather and ETA welcome aboard and we’re pushing back Delta Canadian Air Canada air it’s only 3 hours and 33 minutes took us 4 hours to get here I think it has something to do with the you know the wind and all that gate 78 um Vancouver airport is really nice very clean it was very easy to get around yeah I say it’s one of the better airports not too crazy busy either you know just right there’s Continental over there or it’s United I think I think United bought out Continental something like that you got Air France they’re looking for wildlife probably looking for like ducks or whatever to get into the in the engines the wildlife Patrol soon as we turn the corner we’ll be next we the next one in line we we go everything is so small from up here above the clouds so we’re over we’re over the state of Washington little little Peak through the clouds here look like there’s some mountains down below snowy ones at that that’s Idaho oo bumpy ride over Idaho pretty much cloudy all the way they right now and then the clouds will open up a little Idaho that got a Diet Coke cup of ice and another one of those those cookies so that’s Wyoming got a little bit of snow [Music] [Music] it look like little cotton balls you can see the Shadows on the ground doesn’t look like there’s many trees in this area so we’re flying over Colorado and Den Denver should be off in the distance I don’t see it but we’re real close to Denver you [Music] [Music] it’s kind of can’t really see it but that’s Colorado Springs down [Music] there kind of Cloudy maybe it’ll clear up just a little yep there it is Colorado Springs there’s a lot of golf courses [Music] [Music] there goes the plane [Music] that’s and we’re coming in we would like to be the first to welcome you to Tallis Fort Worth where the current time is 5:41 p.m. don’t forget to check your seat back pocket and surrounding areas to Ure you have all of your belongings like cell phones tablets Chargers passports when you open those overhead compartments please be careful as items may have tasted in Flight you may now use your cell phone as we make our way to the gate we will be arriving at the gate C30 and if Dallas for worth is your final destination and you have checked bags you can retrieve those checked bags at baggage claim number c25 that’s Charlie 25 as a reminder please seated with your seat belt fasting until the captain has turned off that seat belt sign and we do know you have a choice in Airline so on behalf of this entire Fort Worth based flight crew we thank you for choosing American and have a lovely night and first class oh wow it’s a robot hello hello hello flight 1052 to Knoxville departs at 8:5 4 p.m. 36 minutes until boarding and I like these signs they’re huge and I also like the seating area I do love the seating here like a nice little couch and plain comfortable there a plane there but that’s not ours I don’t think ours has arrived yet um but yeah it’s been a great trip yeah the flight back wasn’t that long it didn’t feel that long like getting off the plane was along and what do you think so far about so far so good everything went smooth yeah so this airport is really nice they have like trees and some birds and I love all the big color gate signs really big so you can’t miss it give you plenty of information tells you when you’re boarding right here it says boarding in 20 minutes Knoxville but our plane isn’t even here yet our plane boards in 19 minutes and it’s not even here it’s coming in from Salt Lake City H I’m I’m assuming we’re going to be delayed a little I can’t see them unloading the plane in 19 minutes cleaning it and then us getting on in time yeah they have a bores head sandwich shop here and they they got salads and different types of sandwiches that’s really cool they also have wraps and pretty pretty cool eats here and with 17 minutes to go our plane is just pulling into to the gate c36 they’ve also moved the gate around a few times looks like an Airbus yeah it’s an a321 from Salt Lake City and there’s somebody in there driving the the gate the ramp to the I don’t think our flight is full I checked it the other day and there was like half the seats were open everybody’s all getting everything in into the position there it goes I wonder if old big blue is on there our flight departs at 8:54 and it’s 8:41 and we haven’t boarded yet we’re going be a little bit late and our final flight and we’re running late not much about 10 minutes late no big deal it’s okay that 35a it’s an Airbus 321 I like these air buses they have more room uh than the the boeings and uh it’s not a full full plane a little more relay back Night Flight Night Flight oo Night Flight Night Flight sitting on a plane and someone was supposed to s next to move because I stink yeah the guy said the guy said that you stink and he walked off the plane no it’s because it’s not full capacity there’s plenty of seeds and he wanted to go some plenty of room I would be embarrassed though like if someone did get up and like sign I almost the next well he the plane didn’t not even take off yet and he asked the Jord us if he could just sit somewhere else where it’s not full Compass I don’t stink jump onto the slide and move away from the airplane in a water evacuation the exit door slides in the front and back of the airplane may be detached and used for flotation all exits are clearly marked with signs and opening instructions if needed exit path lighting in the aisle will illuminate near the floor to guide [Music] you for [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] ret andn our advant avat Elite is toes onday purches [Music] they lightning storm over there [Music] and we made it back home to the Great Smoky Mountains fresh Mountain Air right 1. Fun Fact The 1986 World Exposition on Transportation and Communication, or simply Expo 86, was a World's Fair held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada from May 2 until October 13, 1986. My family and I attended this. We lived on the border of Canada and at that time no passport needed. It was so much fun. Where you got off the ship was part of the Expo. The pointed white structure. There also was the first floating McDonald’s at this world’s fair. We went to it. Fun living close to the border and going to Canada many times. Dutch Boy Salt and Vinegar Potato Chips and Nanaimo Bars are so good
