I visited Mont Saint-Michel in France by cruise ship (2013). It’s hailed as a marvel of the Western world, invariably chosen as a must-see UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it doesn’t disappoint.
Visiting the capital Valletta of the Republic of Malta by cruise ship, I witnessed a once-dominant maritime fortress city of the Mediterranean now thriving as a member of the EU.
