What’s New in Tokyo? and Mt.Fuji Travel Alert.
in this video I’d like to go over three new spots to visit in Tokyo and also go over some news related to mount hushi Hello friends how you doing today it’s May 2024 reports from Tokyo this month instead of filming in my room I’d like to try to film from outside so I can capture more scener of Tokyo and the kind car leaves and the seasons more first Japan enter golden week so many company has off about 10 days and the this is a kind of office area near diamond station in Tokyo but you don’t see any workers it’s really empty and kind of peaceful it’s a great season and May 5th is a children’s day and usually in Japan if you have a boy in your home it’s common to put the coin nobody this is coming from the old tale of China that car is very strong and go up the strong current of the ho and eventually became the dragon and go up the sky it is common to kind of decorate the C on the Garden or the on the roof in Tokyo Tower they have lots of coin so let’s go see that there lots of people in Tokyo Tower and there’s a coin nobody the C streamer let’s go about three places and event that just started in Tokyo in past one month in Harajuku a small shopping center called harak opened kakado has similar shops from Brand shops to unique shops for gentleman and even public bath house in the basement even if you don’t do shopping there’s a food cat on the top floors so you can go to get some lunch or dinner the biggest attraction of this halado is the rooftop the rooftop is like a big stairs and you can Overlook the street of Mag Street andando you can even see Tokyo Tower in distance [Music] harak Hara is coming from Harajuku and Cado means corner on the other side of the street there’s a Tokyo Plaza but that changes its name to ocado which means OT Sando Corner both harak and okado has a rooftop so from now it’s a great season to enjoy the breeze of Summer with drink [Music] now let’s move to shya right next to Harajuku there has been a bookstore and Rental DVD shop like old Blockbuster in front of Shia station and the Starbucks overlooking Shia scramble Crossing was a very popular spot for international tourists it has been closed for Innovation for a while but now it’s back as a Starbucks with a little more spaces the whole building become become even more better space for travelers above Starbucks Coffee third and fourth floor has become share lounge with 1,650 Yen admission you can get a seat and three drinks and snacks for 1 hour if you add five and 50 Yen you can also get free alcohol drinks all you can drinks each R has different atmosphere so you can choose your favorite floor after the long walk of seeing in Tokyo you might want some place quiet and relaxing to take a rest and Starbucks is good too but you can take a rest in a little bit better environment at this share L first Flor is an exhibition space for anime and fifth FL is a Pokemon card rch that you can play with Pokemon card Tokyo Metropolitan government building started projection mapping in February and you can see from several different locations on the street of West exit side of shinuk station if you stay at Ko Plaza Hotel and get the west side of the room that will be the best place to see it on weekend honestly it’s not very exciting show that doesn’t move much but the weekend show is more fun from this golden week they start Gozilla show the projection mapping start every 30 minutes and every 1 hour Gozilla will show up and you see Dynamic fighting between Godzilla and Tokyo government so if you are visiting Tokyo it might be fun to check out these places now let’s go over some news that might affect Travelers within certain destination in Japan if you are thinking of visiting Mount fui area there are several news came in recently first one is something you might have he of already but there was a famous photo spot in front of the Loon loon is a Japanese convenience store and there was a spot that you can see Mount Hui with lawon so that was a famous photo spot for international tourists but there are lots of problem because of the over tourism and they said to block the view of Mani so in case you have seen the picture with some Instagram or some influencer site and if you try to go there you might not be able to see the same scenary anymore also nearby lake kko there was a car accident involving International tourists so in case you try to take pictures or travel around you might want to be very careful the car is running the left side in Japan so it might be a little bit different feeling from your country too so it’s understandable that you want to get a good picture and I do the same but you might want to be careful for the car and your safety and if you’re thinking of going up Mount Hui the ru and lots of other decoration will change from this year from 20124 season mon will be closing from 400 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. to enter the mountain and also there will be a maximum 4,000 people per day capacity there was no restriction before but from this year it will be up to 4,000 people per day so in case you visit between 4:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. or after the capacity reached 4,000 people per day you cannot enter the mountain this rule doesn’t apply to the visitors with reservation on the Mountain Lodge so if you are planning to visit Mount Fuji they recommend you to make reservation of the Mountain Lodge the day Mountain Lodge starts to accept reservation is different depending on the mountain LOD so you might want to check their website some lodes start accepting reservation on May 7th some already started you might wonder how big this number of 4,000 is but in year 2019 the business day was a 11th and the number of people entered from Yoshida route is 533 and 2023 the bus day was July 16th Sunday and the number of people visited from Yoshida rout is 3,974 people also if you entering the mountain from Yoshida Trail there will be a hiking fee of 2,000 yen in addition to the donation that has been asked for this hiking fees only charged at Yoshida route and other subashi route Kota route and FIA route it won’t be charged and it will be only a, donation thank you for watching have a great trip to Japan have a great week until the next video

Great vlog, Kenchan! Shibuya Starbucks was closed when we visited last November. Looks nice. Glad Mt Fuji has these new restrictions to help manage crowd and trash control. Arigato!💕😎🌺🥷
You're such a talented videographer. I love all the clips at the start combined with your narration; it feels so professional.
Another informative video! Very timely for us since we’ll be in Tokyo next week! Also we are now studying your past videos about Tokyo Thank you!
Thanks for another great update. Wish I could visit Tokyo each year at least once. I was surprised how charming the city is when wandering the streets. Especially in Taito City where I stayed.
Thanks for another great update 👍
The koi carp streamers looked so cool! The rooftop place looks like a great place to chill for a while too.
Great video as always Kenchan 🙂
Thank you again Kenchan. Your monthly updates are often my favorites. Always helpful. The Godzilla show near "my" Hilton is very interesting. I'm not sure how to think about it. Godzilla is like a Tokyo mascot. (^.^) Of course, I want Japan to win…but I also think Godzilla is an Icon / Idol. (^.-) An exciting video show is a smart compromise. Everyone enjoys excitement, but no one gets hurt! Ii kangae desu! Ikimashou! (^.-)
This June will be my 61st visit to Tokyo! Years ago, I was a military officer and we would visit other nations (not Japan). Unfortunately, some would cause trouble. (>.<) It can ruin the visit for everyone (shame). I agree with Japan limiting access. Maybe this will become known and cause future tourists to be extra respectful while in Japan. I hope so. After more than a decade without any problems, my advice to others… try to be invisible. (^.-) From arrival to departure no one notices me. Quiet. Patient. Plain clothing. Etc. I am a Ghost. The result? They ask me to return. (^.-) Can I reach 100 visits? I hope I can.
Thanks Kengo for the Mt Fuji update. Was inevitable. They have done for years in Hawaii. Leahi Diamond hike and Hanauma Bay. Locals do have easier access.
We'll be in Japan soon and you gave me some great information that I didn't yet know. Thank you for another great video.
Mt Fuji view block is a sad decision. But I've seen how this has become a huge problem.
In Takayama quiet serene neighborhoods frequented by tour groups.
Japan is one country everyone like to visit but some guidelines are definitely over due
I for one visited Japan twice in the last 7 months and planning a 3rd visit come September
Cheers
Aloha do you know the name of the highest lodge? And can you book a year out?😊 thanks
Ken-chan, I am in Japan now for the eleventh day, I started at Tokyo, then to Kanazawa, Takayama and today in Kyoto. I am surprised in such an organized country that people are so disorganized on the sidewalks, walking in any side and everywhere, which leads to dodging oncoming pedestrians all the time. Why can’t people keep to the left like how car travels? What is your thought on my experience?
💛💛💛
Thank you very much the great information. Its amazing how much and quickly things change, especially in Tokyo. So its good to get first hand updates.
Thank you for this video! Great advice! I see you had good views of Tokyo tower in the first part of the video, where is that? Is it in a park?
Wow, the Godzilla show looks so good. In April, I saw the Tokyo Concerto at the Metropolitan Govt Building. Many people like us, keep going back to Japan for visit because it has endless things to see and enjoy. Good work.
This was so fun and Yes I also always love seeing Mt Fuji!! Thanks super much again for that!! 🤩🤩🤩
When I’m in Japan and get there I really want to experience this giant beautiful mountain and what it’s actually like!! 🫶🫶🫶 take great pictures too!! 🦾🦾🦾

I love the Godzilla projections. So many times I watch videos about Japan and I get this sense of magic and wonder, and I feel as though I am 8 years old again. This was another one of those times 🤩😮🤫. Thank you Kengo san for sharing as always 🙏
Tokyo looks so different in summer compared to winter! The place at Shibuya scamble is something to add for the next visit! Thanks for sharing such an informative video, as always.
Hello!! Would like to know your thoughts on the Immersive Fort Tokyo?
