as part of my European Journey today’s adventure takes us to the Crown Jewel of the French Alps nestled at the foot of Mont Blanc and one of France’s most picturesque villages with its Rich history vibrant culture and stunning scenery welcome to Sham friends [Music] I arrived by train just around midday I was greeted with the scent of Alpine in a crisp air as I walk to my hotel you are in constant awe of your surroundings Majestic mountains rivers that flow through the town the friendly locals and a charm of that quintessential French small town I arrived in late September where the mornings are cool the days are sunny and the nights are inviting to have dinner Under the Stars [Music] the streets are filled with restaurants with a pallet for any delicacy shopping and places to stay are plentiful I started my day with a latte followed by a stroll through its many but short streets as I look and admire the architecture you get a sense of feeling that you have not a worry in this world looking to unwind and de-stressed shaman is your [Music] [Music] place St Bernard Duman Blanc is a Catholic Church dedicated to St Bernard the patron saint of the Alps it was first constructed in the year 1119 shamani has been inhabited since the 11th century and the first recorded tourists to visit was William Windam and Richard pook in [Music] 1741 in the late 18th century these men were the first to climb the summit of M Blanc later these statues were built to commemorate their impulsive [Music] Victory GRE dumi Cable Car Service that takes you to the top of M Blanc for a roundtrip ticket it was €55 as you ascend the views become breathtaking you say goodbye to the valley and hello to the snowcat Peaks here you can see views of Mur glass France’s largest glacier hiking is enjoyed during the summer and skiing of course during the winter months as you head to the top the air becomes thin your eyes glisten to the reflection of the snow at over 12,000 ft this is now the border of France and Italy and if you look even further you can see Switzerland during World War II shamani was under German occupation The Ridge of mom Blanc became the Frontline to protect their beloved town to resistance fighters who comprised of Mountaineers climbers and skiers became what is known as the resistance together with the French and Allied Forces they took back Shaman in August of 1944 [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] why I love Shaman let’s see apart from the friendly locals the architecture the many foods to indulge in breathtaking sceneries the history the gorgeous sunsets spending time time with loved ones maybe it’s just a little bit of it [Music] all and remember to like share and subscribe see you on my next Journey [Applause]
