Basques attended Catholic mass at NABO 2024 and the 50th Annual Kern County Basque Festival in Bakersfield, Calif. Since 1979, Basques come together from all corners for one of the largest annual gatherings. A different member club hosts the summer convention.
The Basque picnic in Bakersfield is the largest Basque celebration in California. The Basque festival is held at the Kern County Basque Club every year over Memorial Day weekend. The Basque people come from the region of northern Spain and southern France and speak the oldest language of Europe, which they call “Euskara.”
