Walking Tour Japan | Asagaya in Tokyo Evening Stroll | 4K

Asagaya, Tokio 15:30 nm. 15 Januarie 2024 Voel asseblief vry om ‘n opmerking te maak. Ek geniet dit baie om hulle almal te lees. Vriendelik dankie.

I took a 4K video while taking an evening walk around Asagaya Station on Tokyo’s Chuo Line.
I try not to set a destination too far in advance for my walks on this channel, but in Asagaya this time, I first went to a park called “Mr. A’s Garden”.
(Since the closing time of “Mr. A’s Garden” was approaching, I walked faster than usual in the beginning of the walk, and my footsteps might be noticeable. Sorry.)

The land where “Mr. A’s Garden” is located was once home to a house where one could feel the culture and life in the 1920s, and was loved by the local residents. Hayao Miyazaki, famous for “Spirited Away,” introduced the house as “the kind of house Totoro would be happy to live in. (Totoro is a fictional large animal that appears in Hayao Miyazaki’s film “My Neighbor Totoro.)
However, the historic house was destroyed by fire in 2009.
Hayao Miyazaki was involved in the design of the park, which was then developed into a park.
The concept of the park is to “inherit the appearance of the houses that once stood here as scenery”.

Asagaya is also famous for the size of its shopping district. The Asagaya Pearl Center Shopping Street is 700 meters long and is lined with 250 stores.
There is also a street southeast of Asagaya Station lined with retro izakaya (Japanese-style pubs) and bars where you might want to go for a drink alone. Each of these establishments has a strong individuality, and it is interesting just to look at the exteriors of the buildings, so I recommend that you stop by during your stroll in Asagaya.
