Our Cruise Ship Broke Down Day 2 – Headed Back to Kiel Germany

just to update everybody on what’s been going on originally we booked two cruises back to back out of do England first one was 12 Days 12 days and the second one is going to be 9 days so we today is technically the last day of our 12 day we’re supposed to be getting off here in do but guess what we’re supposed to be getting off in do we’re not there yeah let’s up what we’re rich and Robin and these are our midlife adventures in and out of our midlife van started taking off going into btic sea felt the vibration then all of a sudden we came to a halt Captain came on board let us all know that it sounds like there’s a mechanical issue with the propulsion device preventing us from going full speed so why can’t we go slow speed but mechanics we’re going to take a look at it and see what they could do 24 hours later we still sat in the same spot middle of the Baltic Sea instead of going to gothenberg $100 credit try they’re taking care of us 24 hours after the ship stopped working we get another update brief update as you know we are heading back to Kel and we should be arriving now at 6:30 alongside later this evening we will be boarding additional technical support as we work to make the engine repair for tonight the guest will need to stay on board this evening we are in discussion with immigration authorities about options for tomorrow we’ll keep you updated with Frankie again again unfortunately guests we need to stay on board this evening but we do have a great lineup of entertainment activities and events that will still be taking place everything in the adult game show kicking off tonight at 10:00 have a great evening everyone and we’ll see you around the ship tonight every cabin got a free bingo card to play Bingo for a chance to win a free 5day cruise we even got a little laundry done [Music] we’re moving we’re doing 12.3 knots and let’s see I don’t know what they’re going to do but he said we can’t go through customs in Germany to leave I don’t know tonight that’s what Frankie said cuz they didn’t get enough notice just’s not ready for us so I think most likely if I had to guess we’re going to get off tomorrow and K and they’re going to load everybody up on a bus and then take them back to do and us we don’t know we don’t know cuz we don’t need to go to do we need to stay with the boat or so if they’re going to delay a boat the boat one or two days then we we’re fine hang out but if they’re going to cancel the next one we we’re going to start researching tonight where we want go we’re going to go in fact we’re going what 12 we’re hauling we’re moving we’re doing 12.3 knots baby robin what is going on here we got another tug down there we are we are back in Keel Rich yes we’re back in Germany did you think you’d ever be back in Germany so fast not that quick but you know things happen yeah so we’re going to have a little dinner we can’t get off originally they were hoping they let us to get uh off the boat so we can go kind of spend some more time and K doesn’t look like it let’s see if we can wave to these guys back back here so it looks like uh tomorrow morning they’ll let us know more information we’ll see what happens next once again the guess is that they’re going to get everybody off the boat tomorrow and then shuttle them to Dover but for us there’s like 300 of us that are doing the next Cruise not sure if we’re going to stay here and then go or or let us go and and not do the second Cruise so look there’s a beach over here in K more things got to pin that for tomorrow since we couldn’t get off the ship as we thought we headed to [Music] dinner and then for the onboard entertainment for the evening I think we’re kind of dark here rich but back here is the dry and so far we’re not in the dry dock Ridge but why are we back in ke we’re back in ke cuz we have a mechanical issue and it sounds like it’s with propulsion Drive there’s two different um drives they’re called direct the power and the direction and it sounds like one of them there’s a malfunction with it they’re not sure what it is they tried to repair it over the last probably what 48 hours and they couldn’t out at Sea so they’re fig here they come into dock uh there’s going to be less current that’s going to be moving the that pot around have technical experts here um at the dry dock area and so I’m hoping they don’t have to dry dock it cuz if so then I don’t think anybody can stay on the boat and so I forgot what I was going to say but I was going to say something before that so we we have been told that we are able to go off the boat and but it looks like maybe not till noon or 2:00 and we have to be back on the boat at 7:30 this does not look like the C day that we were headed to so now we are in the main dining room and have ordered our brunch but we will also be having lunch cuz we haven’t tried out the Cantina yet we have to tried the Mexican Cantina and then also probably have a GU Burger again probably after we get back on board yes what do you got there you got the1 12 French toast got the1 French toast and some bacon and some ash Browns you Robin I got one egg Benedict because two is way too much for me and I’ve been learning to order half orders here on the cruise which has been a great option I should take you uh take note of that everyone it’s Frankie here your cruise director definitely with that great news right now we just did get confirmation that we have clearance for guests wishing to go out and port to visit again which is earlier than expected and even better news we are able to extend our back on board time tonight until 10 p.m. so we have clearance right now so if you do want to go ashore the gangway is located on Deck number two mid ship you can proceed to the gangway at this time now folks very very very important all guests need to be back on board by 10:00 sharp as the Carnival Pride will be repositioning from the current pier to pier number one and once we are at the new pier there will be no short leave until advised by local authorities again we do still have a great lineup of entertainment activities and events playing for you throughout the day and this evening comedy shows in the theater ter live music everything’s still going on for your enjoyment but again folks again help you get out there enjoy the ports enjoy your time what do you got there Rich you had a fish taco are we in Baja not as good as baj good I’m eating the chicken one right now and it’s kind of spicy so an update here on our little issue on the pride yeah just to reiterate just to reiterate Robin we are still in K in K we’re back in ke we’re still back we’re back in ke just under 20 hours since the ship broke down and we’ve arrived back in Keel Germany six waves of passengers have been taken off the ship and flown from Hamburg to England for their original flights back to their homes tomorrow we’re supposed to be in do but we’re not going to be in do tomorrow so we still don’t know all the details on that but for now for now we have another we have a port day at Keel and so we have until 10:00 so we have like yeah so we have 9 hours yes so we’re going to go maybe Hamburg on a train I think so let’s go check it out join us in our next video as we get off the ship after two days stuck on the Carnival Pride and we head into Hamburg via the train

Two months after dry dock, the Carnival Pride cruise ship had Engine problems and left us more to float around the Baltic Sea. We had just left port after a great day discovering the beauty and charm of Lubeck, Germany.

After leaving Kiel Germany we were scheduled to head to Gothenburg Sweden but instead, we were stranded floating around the North Sea off the coast of Germany for 24 hours.
