New Thai Visa Will SAVE You On Taxes!! Destination Thailand Visa
so on May 28th of 2024 the Thai government has introduced big changes to its existing visa rules in order to boost its stagnating economy postco has not been too kind to the Thai economy especially due to its heavy Reliance on tourism and they just aren’t meeting the numbers now some of these big changes I personally feel are long overdue but hey better late than never Visa exemption for 60 days to 93 countries and territories we’re finally getting 60 days on arrival instead of the usual 30 days that’s been going on for so many days we also have visa on arrival to 31 countries and territories for a period of not exceeding 15 days but however the one that I’m most excited to share with you guys and I feel like this Visa is a great deal and we’ll save you on a boatload of taxes because who likes taxes nobody likes taxes is the destination Thailand Visa now the eligible Foreigners for the destination Thailand Visa are catered towards remote workers digital Nomads I hate using that word digital Nomad it’s weird and Freelancers freelance workers not the Freelancers that you perverts are thinking about or that I’m thinking about now for the requirements for this destination Thailand Visa the participant activities include mu Thai classes Thai cooking classes Sports training medical treatment seminars and music festivals whatever music festivals means seems kind of a weird requirement music festivals they also include spouses and dependent children of DTV holders the time period of the DTV Visa the destination Thailand Visa is 180 days and the Visa validity is 5 years total of 5 years with multiple entry now the Visa Fe is 10,000 bot most likely per year the thing that I’m actually most excited to explore about this destination Thailand Visa is when I looked at the requirements and I looked at everything this Visa is literally perfect for guys that actually are looking to tax Arbitrage moving location to location to minimize their their taxes or for guys that are just Perpetual Travelers guys that can’t seem to stay in one place for too long I’ve Got Friends in their 20s 30s 40s that like to split their time in multiple locations they can’t stay in Thailand for for too long when I look at the requirements for the destination Thailand Visa it is literally perfect for guys that want to save up save on taxes it’s perfect so a couple months ago I interviewed a Thai attorney to explore more on the subject of Thailand’s new tax on foreign Source income of section 41 of Thailand’s Revenue code that was announced in quarter 4 of 2023 whether this new tax is going to be implemented next year or within the next 5 years who knows things are a bit spontaneous especially living here in Thailand can be a good thing but in regards to taxes it’s more on the bad side now this new section 41 tax is going to affect foreigners tourists xats and even ties everyone’s going to get hit on this foreign sourced income tax now in order to get around from this new tax there are two options you can stay in Thailand for 180 days the second option you can be a holder of the 10-year long-term resident Visa the LTR visa and I think there are four categories that you can apply under the 10-year LTR Visa you have the wealthy Global citizen I think off the top of my head you have to have at least a million dollar US net worth and you have to be making 80,000 a year you have the wealthy pensioner you have the work from Thailand professional and you also have the highly skilled professional I’m going to include the link of all the requirements for all these in the description down below but if you aren’t interested in applying for the 10-year LTR Visa then look no further you have the destination Thailand Visa which will allow you to to stay in this country for 180 days a year for a five for a 5year period so let’s say if you’re going to take a look at this in a tax perspective and I think if you’re from let’s say if you’re from Canada if you’re a Canadian national you’re a UK National you’re a Singaporean National if you come from these countries amongst as many other countries that don’t tax your citizens globally this DTV option you can absolutely maximize your tax footprint using this destination Thailand Visa now for example you can stay in Thailand for 180 days with a DTV and then you can say I don’t know Dubai or somewhere in Europe for your other six months you go back and forth to minimize your tax footprint or if two locations isn’t enough you can also do three locations you can do 4 months in Thailand 4 months in Dubai over the UAE and 4 months in your vacation home in the south of Spain or in the south of France so when I look at the DTV the requirements of it this is literally perfect for somebody that’s trying to save on taxes to minimize their tax footprint you whether you’re from the UK you’re from Singapore you’re from Canada as long as you’re not from America like I am because either way we’re screwed we get tax everywhere sucks being an American now personally would this destination Thailand Visa work for me probably not uh because I love Thailand too much uh 6 months is way too short for me I I love Thailand way too much I love being here for even close to a year like I I am never bored of this country this country makes me happy you know I’m really I’m really big I’m really bullish on Thailand you know I love this place you know it would take a lot for me to not love Thailand not saying that that’s not that’s not impossible but you know I I just love this country too much where I want to stay here for more than 6 months but hey I have plenty of other friends that bounce around they’re it like very transient they’re in and out of this country from I don’t know 3 to 4 months and when I think about their situation and how they want to live here just for a few months and then live over in Spain during the summer months or live in Dubai for a part of the year then I think about their situation and we both you know over lunch and dinner conversations we talk about tax implications and taxes because that’s what old people do then then the DTV is the per perfect perfect option for them so just some food for thought and a quick Visa update so if you guys are interested take a look into DTV especially if you’re trying to save on taxes anyways ladies and gentlemen that’s it for me hope you guys are doing fine and let me know in the comments if you guys are interested in the this DTV scheme whether the pros or the cons if it works for you guys let me know your guys’s thoughts anyways I hope you guys are doing well take care love you guys see you guys in the next video peace bye

It would be best if you took this video down until you get your facts right, Your spreading miss information that many viewers could make plans that may not eventuate as they expect. You need to check your sources.
How does Forrest stay in Thailand long term?
great news just spent two months in thailand had to pay and wait to extend visa to spend more money in thailand Thailand is not cheap anymore Russian mobs and massive attacks by Chinese tourist
Another one spreading rumours, nothing have been officially passed as yet.
What about elite visas????
180 days plus another 180 days extension within the 5 year period = 360 days per 5 years…. plus 500,000 Thai baht as a bond in a Thai bank
To get another 30 day free visa, you had to stay 30 days outside Thailand. With 60 days, how long one must stay to get another one? Vietnam offers 45 days free or 90 days $25 but one needs to stay 1 month outside to renew.
I’m pretty sure it’s 10,000 bhat for a 6 month period and an additional 10,000 for another 6 months. Also you can only stay for one year total within the 5 year period. You don’t get to stay for 5 years straight
Are you special needs?
I love this trend. Hope to see more countries competing for tourist/nomad dollars.
Theres no indication that income tax is waived on the DTV class. The LTR has an exemption in law for online workers, wealthy global citizens and wealthy pensioners. If this was given to the DTV then I would agree, but the 180 days entry implies they expect people to stay less time than tax residency.
Assuming it is tax free is just that an assumption until it has a post in the Royal gazette.
I think people are confusing the Visa and the entry. The visa will be valid for 5 years but you only get 2 entries of 180 days each .
You still have to report to immigrarmtion every 3 months in a DTV visa ?
the DTV visa still does not state if you can do 180 stays back to back for up to 5yrs though! that would be awesome!
Thx Forrest
What about Thai elite visa holders? Are they screwed with this tax change?

No it’s called lack of freedom and china’s military influence over the monarchy. Freedom for the Thai people. USA supports true freedom for all of Asia.
Hi Forrest,
Like your posts and videos. Was watching Thairish Times interviewing you the other day and talking about your income source. Would you mind sharing what kind of Reits or real estates investments ? Is like peer to peer lending or reits ,stocks?
Don't have to go into detail just general idea.
Thanks😀
Forrest do you have a college degree in economics? You sure sound like an expert! Maybe you should study cooking! Easy peasy! You don’t earn enough money on YooToob to pay taxes, right?
What about fallangs who live in Thailand that are married with thais?
What I’m
Curious is u can do the 180 then basically do a border run or go to VN for a week and then come back for another 180 day visa. Those that make sense or do u know if that’s an option or is it a one time 180 with a one time consecutive extension or resets if u leave the country and get it again
Check your sources. These changes are not approved. They were announced by a Ministry that was not responsible for visas. If these new taxes are actually implemented, I'm sure the LTR visas will disappear.
Haha, like the smile on freelancer, nice job. Run Forest Run. Yeah that guy you interviewed was tough to understand. The tax thing is a make work project. All it does is annoy people to create jobs for tax admins. Lot of other doors are opening, Malaysian, Philly, Vietnam, Cambodia, Japan,Taiwan and so on
if you travel frequently, I think the privilege visa is a lot better than the other options…
The DTV will also require a 500,000 baht bond/deposit.
Sounds epic !
Thank you
I am from Spain but living in Thailand😂
Thank you for the update – it sounds good brother Lee. Please do a follow-up video in a few months verifying and confirming the actual tax savings.
Another YouTuber that will say anything for clicks.
– There is no new law.
when it hits the Gazette, then and only then is it a law.
Yeah nope. They will tax the living shit out of you when you get this visa. Thailand is shifting to global taxation on citizens and tax resident aliens. Do your research.
Are you sure it's 180 days per year?
It's not gonna happen. Local immigration offices and border run agencies tied to them wont allow it. Would be great but its ok to dream.
Thanks for your videos and America has done both of us well on being direct and confrontational. As per the dtv this will be a waste for me i qualify for the O retirement visa even though I am staying in Thailand only 6 months because of the coward no confrontational prime misters expat tax plan. The O visa let’s me leave and come back proceeding the remaining 6 months . I love Thailand also but the vague non confrontational tax department and this prime minister who fears the Russian mafia in Phuket from leaving won’t announce clearly on what to expect this January 2025 . Well I am proactively preparing you for immigration forcing you to show your tax records and documents or they will not renew your visa so get ready for that document nightmare and hours of your time proving your income .So again this expat tax is active and alive and all collections with accrue 2025 they want the difference of your complete worldwide income usa tax bracket difference that’s how they got around the BS treaty if your at a 22% USA bracket but your at a 35% Thai bracket they want that 13% on your total income so get ready to hand them anywhere from $2,500 to $5000 tax payment . This is all about the digital socialism entitlement hand out program take from the rich and give to the poor . Get ready you will be mtf Thailand I am preparing you so it’s no surprise even the vague non confrontation Thai tax revenue department is told to not explain it clearly until January 2025 collections time .
Which visa do I need to get if I want to live in Thailand 5 months out the year every year until the God calls me home
Title auto outs this guy as Clueless 😂😂😂😂.
I 🤔 if this guy is a Koyce Sin Sugar Daddies…
Great update !! Im from Uruguay and happy to be included now in the visa exemption .
If someone is on a "tourist visa" and spends 8-10 months flying in and out of Thailand should not be taxed right? "Tourist visa" I am already a tax resident of Australia however I travel 2 months to Thailand, then fly 3-10 days in another country and back to Thailand then back to Australia for 2 months and repeat continuously flying 365 days. I am not working in the country, I spend lots of money supporting the economy in Thailand and other countries and if they want to tax me that would be disgraceful.
I'm confused as to how the 180 day visa thing saves on taxes. If you are a digital nomad then usually you will need a foreign entity/business (in your home country) to process payroll etc and thus still end up paying taxes in the country where you come from . On the other hand if you fully used a Thai umbrella serice to help you work legally and pay taxes in Thailand then those taxes would be way lower than most countries (EU/US anyway )
Recently new tax law was introduced so this visa is basically to catch and tax people.
as an american, not sure if this tax scheme has any advantage for me. I wonder if there is a tax treaty
