Radio Antennae ~ Height Is Might

[Music] [Music] don’t bonjour hello welcome to Max Mountain World welcome down to my favorite spot down the lake that is very rapidly disappearing with water filling up after the winter so uh out here A Day Out playing radio I heard before I left that it’s getting quite active so uh we’ll see what we can do de action wise not sure if we get the big antenna up not much wind quite a nice day quite warm but a very big risk of precipitation of rain so see how it goes here perch here 800 m above above sea level atth at the lake and the lake as I say the water coming in later on Saturday morning and yeah this guy’s getting his boats ready boats are kind of preparing for stuff as the lake fills up guy here playing around with a wing or whatever he’s doing maybe just testing stuff to go surfing later on I’m not sure few camping Vehicles as well up in the the entrance way here and uh the ucpa place seems to be getting active with uh the resturant beside the lake weatherwise yeah very hazy gray day so far so dry but you never know and beautifully calm lake today although the water is coming up if you’ve seen my previous radio videos down here you’ll you’ll see a big big difference today so I might stick around here or I might go to higher [Applause] places okay so it’s dry steam seems to be Stam dry as an almost tripped up over some rocks walking backwards a good idea right okay so I’ve got the mock on up at 8 m and uh very calm no winds today so uh looking good for it I’m managing to get right next to the water although I’m not too sure how good an idea that is I placed that little stick with a rock at the water’s edge about an hour ago and uh yeah it’s creeping off on me but I should be okay famous last words I might need to shift which would mean taking it all back down again and then uh setting it up maybe a bit to the left or something but next the water’s good gives me a good bounce off and we’ll see what’s happening on radio so there’s my marker and yeah it’s beginning to threaten to get wet so I’m going to shift over here a little bit but luckily I don’t have to strip it all down I just bring in the bottom sections lifted it off go to the drive on plate and I’ll do the same in Reverse get it up again in a couple of minutes right so that to do it I put a little marker a natural marker halfway between the car and the water so if the water starts approaching there I know to shift on again that took 8 and 1/2 minutes to shift this in total pretty efficient pretty good so let’s have a view the whole thing mock on on top not quite far enough away and there we have it hello CQ cqx CQ I am 14 Delta Delta 007 portable 14 Delta Delta 0 07 portable qsy 27560 27560 14 sugar Delta Delta 07 calling CQ and standing by on 560 for any call hello CQ cqx CQ 14 Delta Delta 07 portable Southeast France call Delta [Music] xray Del 14 Delta delta0 07 portable Southeast [Music] France [Music] del7 Roger yeah Roger I am 14 Delta Delta 07 portable Southeast France my name is Max like Mike alpha x-ray Mexico America x-ray like Mad Max the movie got you on a five and seven there Roger yeah Roger rer Delta delar [Music] [Applause] we okay Max Mexico America x-ray Max FR voila okay Lo Max mik alpha x-ray comad Max the movie voila a fantastic okay Alex Al Lima xray Alex [Applause] [Music] Victor Delta z z d okay okay Max Mexico America x-ray come Mad Max lovi Roger maxia maxre okay Max Del Del Max okay maxan say Max Mexico America xray Max Max SP cluster DX okay monam TR Vector Delta separation Delta x-ray C Delta Delta 0 0 set okay merour goow okay so everyone’s coming from the West Spain there’s a lot of guys normally I’m first Shout with the mocks on but uh I think it’s a language thing cuz I’m hearing most of them speaking Spanish and uh not getting much from other directions so I think I’m going to take the antenna down and go to higher climbs so uh that’s it see what we get on with that one so there’s my my marker that’s how much the water has moved and come up in an hour so luckily not going anywhere near the car or the antenna or coax or anything like that you can see quite a lot of people boating and stuff sky is blowing up something don’t know what but uh it’s turned out to be a beautiful day here absolutely no wind at all the lake is like a mil Pond almost it’s calming down every minute and yeah I’m going to shift away I’m going to put the mock on away in the boot again uh that shouldn’t take too long right I’m just about to pop everything away in the boot here put the MKS on down the M down stick in the car and go to higher climbs now it’s not threatening but you can see where my marker is and that’s a good meter and a half that the water’s advanced in the hour and a half that I’ve been here and the lake is just like a mil Pond beautifully quiet a few folk messing around with boats and stuff this guy’s walking out to his boat yeah good luck with that okay and uh yeah there are just very hazy cloudy sort of cover but it hasn’t precipitated I’ve been quite lucky although it is threatening if you look at the cloud immediately above so I’m going to wrap things up before it starts getting wet here and head up to higher climbs where I might not get the mock on up but I’ll certainly be a lot higher than the 800 M that I am here so just stopped for something to eat Roadside Cafe get something to munch something to drink and then carry on I’m about an hour away from where I was at the lake and have another hour to go even though in a straight line it’s 30 km and 20 mi that’s the nature of the roads that twist around the mountains so uh looking very very hazy up where I’m headed so I’m probably going to head into some rough weather I won’t get the big antenna up but we’ll see what happens not hearing much in the radio down here so get something to eat get on the road and see how high I can get as it were so to speak to coin a phe all right so I’ve arrived the C La Bonnet a bit snower up here and uh some amazing views I expect it to be raining up here but it’s not everything else looks like it’s raining it’s just a hazy day so uh I’ll have a quick look around up here show you what it’s like a spectacular place then go and see in the radio it seems to be going mental and then at the very end little trip down the very first part of this road back it is absolutely astonishing okay thanks for watching favorite place for videos and photos and stuff spectacular especially with the dir that’s blown up from Africa from the Sahara on the storms that come up from the south all the brown stuff on the snow up here you can see acrossing the distance they’re very very hazy now the seam the leonet that goes right the way around the peak debonet is not open yet that’s why they’ve got it blocked off with snow here but up there is the highest Road in Europe at 20 ,800 and I think 288 not too sure so uh not going to maybe not get the mo on up here I might do I don’t know we’ll see how things go on the radio so uh as on the road up bike Central and not just motorbikes push bikes as well and some really really nice equipment going about there’s more bikes on the road up here than there are other vehicles put together and we just a look over the South Side here past these guys and just look again hazy over Direction n as it says and uh the same effect here this must be fascinating to ski if I could get someone to pick me up at the bottom but unfortunately cannot do that today so uh we’ll just have a quick look here this is looking South as I say he in his favorite photo spot he cool okay see yeah bikes everywhere push bikes everywhere pass most of these push bikes and the way up in various places the road’s not very wide so kind of down to 10 km an hour in places watching these guys following these guys so uh dive into the car see what the radio is doing we did hear you among the there Max but heavy heavy heavy here excuse yeah Roger you selling that one there Joe I’ve got you five and nine needless to say but I’m static mobile just now I’m up at altitude here I’m up at about 2,700 m in the car just using twoot fir stick antenna there but uh the one Kow slightly more uh maybe let’s say we’re using the legal limit here Mike but many many many stations uh you know they do want you have a gso at all they want to make it very difficult mik except whatever that takes all change to make the radio it wasn’t like this a years and years and years ago everyone took their turn and waited waited but uh most of the time you just have a qso turn the radio off and say ch ch byebye that’s it Max but uh okay on the 9,000 you’re in the mountains today my excuse him yeah Roger I’m just sitting parked next to a 20ft bank of snow and luckily it’s behind the antenna in your direction there but again just a little twoot antenna the twoot fire stick there but uh yeah height is M yeah it’s working really well for you Ma I got you 59 plus plus on the 1. Joe from 68 division is right about "etiquette" on radio these days. Most operators are decent but some are not like the old school ops😊
Great video and some good contacts Mr Maximilien 😊
