Is the mountain road open? (S3:E8)
[Music] wow what’s up guys welcome back to ride the bean today I’m waking up here in hemal at Jeremy’s Farm I’ve stayed here for a couple of days and um he giving me a tour of this beautiful area and everything uh but today I got a leave and I’m heading towards a place called theum where um a Mountain Road is supposed to open today that I really want to show you guys so uh I’m just going to finish packing up the bike and uh see you on the road oh what’s the what do you call this it has a name doesn’t it the bike yeah moonin moonin yeah yeah after Odin’s Raven yes who going to in yeah thank you so much for everything I see you again bye-bye oh this has been an incredible stay I was just here for like one full day I arrived late in the evening 2 days ago and uh we just sat and had a beer and chilled talked uh all night kind of until like 1: or 2 in the morning and then we went uh on the tour yesterday and everything that was amazing this was uh this is exactly why I love meeting locals when I travel you get these kinds of unique experiences it’s so interesting to hear people’s stories and uh and see how they live their lives I’m not used to Farms I don’t know anything about running a farm but I’ve learned a lot about it over these past uh two nights one day but yesterday I went to um the coffee rooll Trey Scandinavian Alps and uh I talked to the guy there but unfortunately the microphone for my uh oh the the the magnet for my microphone got lost there so I got to go back and uh see if I can find it this waterfall is just [Music] stunning there’s nobody [Music] here is the guy roasting cool oh really nice to meet you yeah yeah have a safe drive man yeah oh I found my magnet and you had a bunch of ideas for how to promote myself uh here on YouTube and uh uh getting sponsors and stuff uh that’s kind of a a strange thing for me because I I I need to do that but I also really hate selling myself I’m very bad at it cuz I feel like I’m uh what I’m doing is not really that great and so I struggle with selling myself but I guess I need to get over that and uh start start selling myself it feels weird even say I don’t know oh yeah uh Scandinavian Alps Coffee Roastery is uh really really cool place and so if you’re ever passing through hemad all and want a cup of coffee this is definitely the place you should uh you should visit and if you do say hi from me I guess you can guess why they call it the Scandinavian Alps here it’s uh pretty spectacular here is where I’m nervous am I tall enough barely I got through all right I have a 3-hour ride to Uka [Music] now I’m climbing up the mountain again towards a place called Yu and up here it’s uh it’s getting a little bit chilly I’m at uh the 000 M [Music] now and up here is also a Ski Center all of these mountains this very popular skiing destination 1,4 M right here up and down the [Music] mountain ah [Music] now I’m at V 1100 M and then we start going down into the the valley again I love going up and down the mountains like [Applause] this zigzag zigzag now getting down into the valley I feel the temperature change significantly again it’s interesting this is this is the fun thing about riding a motorcycle you really feel the elements you feel the wind and the cold and the changes in temperature and everything you’re sort of a lot more act or one with the nature if you can say that you feel the smells and the the air and the wind and everything and we’re going back up the mountain again [Music] oh back over 1,000 m 1,70 m here oh wow this is amazing wow this is so [Music] beautiful it is so windy here almost growing off the road this road I’m riding on now is called [Music] [Music] pin now I’m up at ,80 M and then we start going down [Music] again this is sort of the beginning of what I wanted to show you this season uh there’s going to be a lot more of these types of rokes and these types of use this is uh I’m still sort of on the west or I’m still sort of on the east side of country now uh or I guess you could say more in the middle part but uh the views are only going to get better from here so if you want to see more of that then uh keep following this season cuz there going to be a lot more of this now we are down in another Valley we’re almost in rukum now I’m curious if the road that uh I wanted to ride is open look how much water is in the river [Music] wow look at that that is ghosta toen ghosta peak and this is where I wanted to go across this mountain how insane is this [Music] view this is so beautiful now I’m coming into a city [Music] called this city I visited before if you watched my last series around Norway but but this city is very famous for uh its um heavy water production during uh the second world war so the Germans really wanted control of this place then a bunch of uh norian activists managed to keep them from getting their hands on the heavy water that can be used for um atomic bomb production a damn it now my visor is getting loose again it’s coming loose all the time now we’re coming into the city center of you come it’s not a very big town there not a lot of room for expansion in this [Music] Valley he let’s see if I can find something to eat all right let’s just sit down under the tree and eat a classic Norwegian lunch uh knra with uh Brown cheese good Brown stalls o doesn’t get more nor region than this what a amazing ride across the mountains now it’s actually getting quite late it’s 5:00 now so I need to start looking for Camp soon but before I do that um I’m going to well first finish my lunch and then I’m going to head up the mountain seems the road is open um but only for small vehicles and my bike is a small vehicle so it seems I can go up and I’m really really excited um this is an amazing Road and on the other side I’m going to find Camp somewhere uh tomorrow is Norway’s National Day Norway’s Constitution Day so everything is going to be closed tomorrow and I don’t really know yeah tomorrow is kind of a strange Day in Norway everything is closed everyone is out celebrating um walking in uh like parades and uh eating hot dogs and sausages and ice cream and uh so the whole country is kind of in a very different mood tomorrow and everything is closed uh there’s no no stores that are open or anything only only thing open are restaurants and hotels so uh I think I’m I I don’t really know what I’m going to do tomorrow normally I would be at home home and just relaxing avoiding all the people but now I don’t I don’t really know I guess we’ll F we’ll find out tomorrow okay so let’s see now if the road is actually open gates are open looking good this is always tricky at this time of year in Norway because uh like the the government sets certain dates for what and there are different mountain passes are supposed to be open uh but of course that depends on the weather and the conditions and everything so you never really know wow that mountain is just so beautiful so iconic interesting thing about rum is that in Winter they don’t they have like a couple months where there is absolutely no sunlight shining down into the the city and so some years ago they put up a mirror on the The Mountaintop on this mountain uh that reflects sunlight down to the the Town Square it’s very depressing to be here in Winter because uh it’s so dark and so to just get a glimpse of sunlight they put up a mirror reflecting the Sun [Music] [Music] the hike up to the peak there is uh one of Norway’s most famous hikes I think lots of tourists come here every summer to hike up and in Winter for that matter the the hike is a bit longer in Winter though [Music] now I guess you understand why I wanted to take this road this is just uh I have no words it is beautiful wow the views for just are just incredible almost dangerous because uh hard to keep your eyes on the road now we go down into the valley again and now I need to find Camp cuz it’s getting it’s is actually getting really late it’s uh about 7:30 now now we’re getting down into the valley again I can feel the temperature rising as I go down like it’s such a difference now it’s 18° down here I can feel my ears popping and go down from uh 1200 M to now I’m at uh 500 M Let’s uh see if there is a possible camp site up here must be a place I can hang my hammock somewhere here it must be yeah I can this is the perfect SP spot to hang no yeah there lots of trees here all [Music] right it’s that time of the day [Music] oh that is so good well this has been a fun day on the road so many beautiful views riding ac across ghost aopen is uh it’s just stunning and it’s like there are no words to describe how beautiful it is the the video the camera doesn’t do it justice at all so if you come to Norway and want to ride a motorcycle that is one of the places I would absolutely recommend to go uh but I hope you guys have enjoyed this episode and if you did give me a thumbs up click subscribe and ring the bell if you want to see what I end up doing tomorrow so tomorrow is uh Norway’s Constitution Day the 17th of May so uh the whole country is sort of in a frenzy it’s a I think Norway’s celebration of the Constitution is kind of unique I I haven’t seen any other culture uh celebrate their Constitution Day the same way uh or to the same extent I guess uh I guess we’ll talk a little bit about more about that uh tomorrow but now it’s uh it’s actually 8:30 and the Sun is uh still it’s but it goes down be behind the mountains in about uh half an hour roughly um it doesn’t really get dark until like 1 2:00 at night so uh like or dark dark it gets darker but but I feel tired after spending the whole day on the bike haven’t really done anything but ride today but it’s the it it has been uh some amazing views and although it is amazingly fun and uh yeah although it is incredibly beautiful it is tiring so now I’m just going to finish my beer and then I’m going to go to bed and I will see you tomorrow hopefully peace
After Hemsedal I head for my first mountain pass of the season. Crossing the Iconic mountain pass by Gaularfjell.

If this is only the beginning of what you want to show us. I can't wait. Bring it on.❤
Mange kjente veier🙂 Veldig bra video👍🙂
It appears very bright for 8:30pm?? Stay warm and safe 🎉🎉
Takk!
There can be few places more stunning.
Lucky to be born there.
Good watch, Beanster.
Ride safe 👍
Waaaa, this brown chese. Tested it several times (in Norge). Not my thing at all. Nice video as always.
Great Video!
Constructive feedback. I truly believe most travel videos would benefit from a reduction of music levels, whenever the creators are talking / storytelling going on.
Looking forward to the next one 😉🇳🇴
That's a inspiring video.
Thanks Kenneth!
Awesome! 👌👍😊
Really hope your channel grows , your content is great!

Love this stuff keep up the great work
Flott video, Kenneth!
God tur videre.
Very nice Kenneth, looking forward to seeing more.
