Having visited Japan for the first time 10 months prior, I fell in love with the country and was looking desperately for an excuse to bring myself back. After some deliberation we decided that a trip to Hokkaido would be that reason we were so desperately searching for. But before we could set foot on the island disaster struck in the form of a developing Coronavirus, sending Hokkaido into a sudden state of emergency. With all this having developed whilst we were in the air, we found ourselves landing in Japan without a plan. And with two weeks at our disposal, it was up to us to make the most of the situation we suddenly found ourselves in, and to take on the uncertainty ahead!
