Shopping Adventures in Aachen, Germany

hey good afternoon everybody or guten talk um we are in aen Germany uh right now and it is Sunday normally things are closed on Sunday but today being closer to Christmas I believe from what I’m told the square in aen is actually open for shopping so um while I haven’t checked out aen very much uh we did uh we did hang out Friday night do some drinking and Saturday I had to do laundry and so I can get down on a regular schedule so uh that kind of left Sunday Sunday normally things are closed but again shopping’s open So today we’re going to check out the shopping in the aen square in Germany and uh maybe some of the outside sites and by the way there is actually a Christmas um Market set up here and from what I understand it’s one of the best in Germany and so we’ll see if we can check that out it opens at 6:00 p.m. tonight and goes to 9:00 much short much shorter than normal but uh we’ll see how that goes apparently it’s going to be packed tonight so we may actually check it out on a different night but either way we’ll get some sightseeing done get some shopping done and just check out aing [Music] [Music] [Music] all right as you can see behind me I was wrong the Christmas Market is open but it’s already way tooo packed I was able to sneak in get it brought and that’s about all I’m going to do here I want to check out the Christmas Market when it’s less packed so as a tip uh this is Sunday it’s not even supposed to be open till 600 but because it’s a holiday uh before the holidays they’re opening up at 2 this weekend and um so the best time to go because it’s open till 10:00 every night during the week is probably Monday through Thursday and then if you can sneak in uh after 9: a lot of the parents take their kids home and stuff so it’ll clear out so you got about an hour of I guess less crowded areas and um then you can just shop as you want but we’re going to check out some like just regular shopping in the square and then we’ll check out the Christmas Mark another night [Music] [Applause] [Music] all we’re in later hosen land as far as I know tell that’s how you’re supposed to pronounce it it’s like a traditional type um Garb here in Germany like way goes way back and a lot of it’s leather and I’m going to check out some of this stuff because I think the kids might like some of it but I’ll tell you what if you want a full set it is fairly expensive so let’s check it out these are like the shorts you can get and some of them are very fancy with this embroidering and stuff but uh yeah a little Rich for my blood but these are amazing looking [Music] like these are super softt too it’s not like it’s like uh a hard leather it’s like real soft pliable it’s real soft and pliable and this stitching is fantastic I mean it looks well worth the the effort on it but like I said some of them run really high this is a little bit lower um but that’s about the normal price of them right there I mean I like shorts during the summer and all but not €250 with the shorts I’m more about they got some really neat belts um like these belts that are on [Music] here some of these like this you can buy just the belt separate and then you get like a piece of it and then you don’t have to like buy the whole thing all right see they have o I’m going to break stuff they have uh some of these belts here with a really cool buckle and stuff and they only run about uh 20 or 25 this one’s 20 um don’t have any holes I guess you got to Hole it yourself or they’ll probably do it for you here like a fitting uh some of the belts run up to 50 or 60 so you can get really expensive with them and they have these cool hats and I think I may end up getting one of these for the kids I don’t I’m going to have to figure out sizing but check these out looking pretty good dude little schnazzy they got ones with feathers in them and stuff the hats were about 50 so you can catch uh bits and pieces of it that you don’t have to get super expensive into it and that’s just the guy stuff the girl stuff can run a lot higher let’s go check those out here’s a nice uh green dress here looks pretty fancy but uh it is 309 fancy and it doesn’t feel as nice as the other stuff I think this is a obviously this is like the thicker like you would have for the M’s jacket but some of these you I mean you can get slightly cheaper ones 200 and uh still not bad but you’re going to be spending if you want some like traditional later hosing and I’m sure the female version is called something else that you’re going to be spending quite a bit on this stuff and they have uh obviously again just like with the mail stuff the fancier it is the more sequins the more um embroidery there is on it the more expensive it is but the nicer it really looks like uh let’s go see what a whole set looks like all put together and you’ll see how cool it looks all right this is what they look like all done up it looks like the females can wear hats too lots of them usually wear from what I understand this like little headdress thing but uh yeah it’s a super cool outfit dude check out that stick with that cane that is freaking goated get it goated yeah super awesome looking outfit but you’re spending somewhere between 3 and 400 if you want the whole thing and you want it to last and from what I understand I mean it’s all real soft supple leather so it’s going to be it’s going to last a long time and the the shirt quality was really nice um like you can grab a you can grab a nice shirt and a vest and that might only run you €1 instead of you know two 300 400 and man you can look pretty schnazzy in that stuff and get you a nice hat for 50 and all you need is a pair of jeans or something like darker and you can you can rock a little bit of it and uh you can find some dresses on sale and stuff in places like that and then get a little piece of traditional German outfits you know for when they do celebrations and stuff super cool uh and you know nice nice to or kind of fun to look at and have it and uh just kind of think of uh you know gifts and stuff for your [Music] family I was very surprised to see this store in the middle of a German uh like Square where they do like all their shopping stuff but it’s pretty cool you got every manga you can think of in here um all of the like this is all like Naruto and they’re big thick books too the question is are they written in German let’s see well as you can see it is written in German it goes from the classic left to right uh just like you would in in regular manga but all in German this would be a fantastic gift for one of my kids he’s really into Naruto getting in Naruto and stuff and also German by the way I don’t know what number of one piece that they’re on but they’ve got all of them up to it looks like um 104 I know the anime is at like 1,000 something I think get towards 1100 so I don’t know how many episodes are in each those manga but that’s a lot of d one piece dude that’s [Music] [Applause] [Music] crazy that’s something you don’t expect to see for real um I guess it just goes to show you that anime is worldwide at this point I haven’t seen it uh specifically like in a square like this but uh in other places but it was super awesome to find it like right here inside of uh the middle of aen at their square with around all this historic stuff and you’ve got an anime shop um pretty nice I am picking up something in there uh just maybe not today maybe a couple days from now when I have I’ll bring my car and and then I can uh pack stuff up but still a super cool spot to hit if you have any anime fans out there and completely unexpected in the middle of Germany all right I’m learn all kinds of fun stuff today so the uh Square underneath where the chapel was is the main part of the Christmas bucket but there’s these other booths here so if you want to grab just something to eat they have like uh little potato things that you dip in in uh applesauce you can get BRS here you just got to get a little ways out from the square and uh check out around this and you can find just food booths that you’re not competing with 8 billion people trying to get the same thing but uh there’s also shopping and stuff around here like if you look down there that place is pack of people so I’m I’m going to try and Wade through there but uh we’ll see if I can if I can take it but I want to check out some more shopping before we go I did end up getting some manga so we’ll see how the kids like that see [Music] [Music] [Music] all right the Aqua Plaza is essentially a four level uh Mall uh just like you would see probably back in you know most of the mid 2000s uh when it comes to uh malls in the US I know a lot of the malls in the US probably closed down or closing down but this place is pumping there is not one spot that doesn’t have a store in it it has a GameStop the top floors is a completely uh open spot for food plazas and uh that’s where the bathroom’s at and it is just decorated to the dang hilts with uh fancy Christmas stuff like you see right here I even saw the uh the Looney Tunes but there’s a lot of cool stuff in here so if you just want to get out of the cold and come do some shopping these are much more um you know commercialized type uh spots outside of the market area but pretty nice spot to come and just hit up and get a little bit warm while you uh maybe pick up some stuff or just kind of see what the uh what the European fashion is at some of the stores and stuff it’s a little bit different not I mean not a lot but just a little and you know it’s kind of neat to look at but get in here get warm kind of grab something to eat the top floor if you want but again it’s just like a regular old Mall uh food Plaza so you can get what you get and it’s it’s all going to be like more commercialized and stuff like that versus uh like vendors and stuff outside at some of the booths during the Christmas time [Music] you [Music] [Music] all right it’s snowing out and as you can see I’m getting all piled up on it is beautiful though big fluffy flakes of snow I don’t think the ground is pulling up for it to stick but if there’s enough of it it will I’m going to go ahead and end it here guys thank you very much uh hit the Subscribe button help us out and you’ll see more trips more gaming more Clips all the fun stuff that that I tend to get into and uh hit the like button share this and I guess we’ll see you next time on the house of Jacobs choose this [Music] [Music]
