bored and they try to fight themselves maybe to to train a little bit yes Guerilla Warfare of sort yes di uh this Guerilla Warfare it was something that we applied all the time because as I told you at the other um meetings at the other live sessions uh if in the west of Europe the battles were between maximum 5,000 soldiers and here we talk usually about at least 60,000 Turks and 20 30,000 Romanians so when you have these big numbers of soldiers imagine that it was very difficult to defeat such a big army into an open space so that’s why the Guerilla Warfare was something that uh we have done all the time poisoning the wells burning The Villages burning the grains uh the warehous is everything just to try to to defend ourselves and to attack the enemies uh during of the day during of the night uh to to try to to defend them so um this is the this is the way as we was uh trying to fight in here against the Invaders and um of course that uh we didn’t participate to the Crusades because uh we had a lot of troubles then to um to fight against the the hungarians in Transylvania which tried to which tried to invade us to conquer us and because their army were Superior and uh better trained than ours plus they had the support of the western uh countries and of the pope from Rome and uh we were mostly agricultures and the Shepherds it was um it was pretty logical to be defeated even that only after 100 Years of fight against the against the superior Army of the hungarians anyway uh what is very interesting is the fact that uh after this Conquest uh we and the hungarians uh cooperate very well one to the other and together we stayed uh 200 years in front of the Turks like an closed door of Europe because um if they try to if they try to conquer uh Europe they have to they have to conquer us the northern border uh secure and um all the time uh when they try to fight against us or against the hungarians they uh they lost and um one of the one of Romanian rulers which uh one of them so one of the most famous it’s the grandfather of V imper Dracula M the Elder which even today it’s the single Christian Prince which defeat an ottoman Army leaded by the sultan himself I accentuated this leaded by the Satan himself because um ottoman armies defeated by the Christian Prince were many but none with the sultan on the battlefield and the presence of the sultan on the battlefield was extremely important for the moral of the troops as you can imagine so um another one was Vlad imp Dracula which also was a very good fighter against the Turks Stefan chare or Steven the great in Moldova another ruler which uh defeat the armies of um Muhammad II the conquer of Constantinople and uh plus the hungarians also had their their battles won against the Turks uh including uh those victories with hun dianos as they call it uh it’s a Romanian uh ruler of Transylvania assimilated by the Hungarian uh no nobility this is the hungered name of yanu deuna so um that’s why I said we we stayed with them uh in front of the in front of the Turks for about 100 years till 1526 when at Bohan uh the hungarians lost in front of the of the Turks and then uh we had the first Siege of Vienna uh by them by the Turks and they were very very close to uh to invade uh the entire Western Europe but um when they were actually extremely close to do it in 1683 it was of um kingi or of Poland which actually um came and Help The Help the the the people from Vienna vienes to push back the the Turks so um here it was um a territory where uh we have a lot of we had a lot of fights during the centuries because um wait here also I got because um in here we had um a frontier between the Orient and and the oxidant and everybody who wants to go to to Vienna to the oxident have to place by here so uh they have to try to conquer us or to defeat us Somehow Here
The battles of the Romanians in the medieval and modern era for their defense and for the defense of Christian Europe are unknown in Western Europe. You don’t know the sacrifices we made to keep the Ottomans and Tartars from coming over you, and that is largely our fault for not knowing how to tell you these things and repeat them to you until you were aware of them.
