a daytrip to 3 unesco world heritage sites in Germany. In Messel we visited the Messel grube, a pit where an abundance of well preserved fossils can be found which have great scientific value for the study of the early evolution of mammals and birds. The Mathilden höhe in Darmstadt was a place where many artist of the jugendstil lived, the hochzeitsturm build in 1908 is the most iconic building on the site. The fagus factory in Alfeld is a shoe factory which is an important example of early modern architecture.
