Hiking seems little difficult, when you have no much experience. But to give it a try you can go for one day hikes. Day hikes do not call for a lot of gear. The shortest jaunts require a water bottle and a sturdy pair of shoes in some cases, even everyday sneakers will do. If you are looking to experience the most during your day treks, organizing your gear is very important to have a comfortable and a safe journey. Always it is better to focus on the essential items; to reduce the weight and tiredness during long distance walking.
Since we have done few one-day hikes in different destinations around the world, we would like to share our experience with you to make your decision easier in arranging your hiking gear with essential items, as follows.
– Plenty of Water
To keep adequate hydration and to regulate body temperature for preventing from heatstroke and hypothermia.
– Nutrient-dense Food
For a steady supply of energy throughout the hike, increases metabolism and repairs, tired muscles.
• Complex Carbohydrates – Banana, Apple
• Proteins – Granola Bars, Chocolates
• Healthy Fats – Nuts
– Medicine
To relief pain or difficulty cause due to cramps, headaches, wounds and other implications.
• Panadol
• Plasters
• Muscle Spray
• Bandage
– Water and Wind Proof Outfits
To keep you comfortable stable and safe in cold, rainy and windy conditions.
– Hiking/ Trail Running Shoes
For maximum level of protection to feet and ankle while walking through rocky, steep, slippery, muddy and uneven trails.
– Trekking Poles
Increase leg support while moving, reduce pressure on knees and give the extra bit of balance and traction to avoid tumbling.
– Camera
To capture natural beauty and save memories.
