Historical Roots: The Mounted Gendarmerie has deep historical roots, dating back to the early days of the French monarchy. Cavalry units were an essential part of maintaining public order, and their presence has continued in various forms over the centuries. I was walking quietly and suddenly I see a bike behind me… It was Bernard Sylvain a well known Designer Jeweler who asked me if I filmed his boutiques and I said yes! so he kindly invited me to visit his incredible jewelry workshop Very interesting I’ll let you enjoy it, it has old objects as decoration such as a motorcycle, old cameras and even a old electrical current circuit, of course as a decoration You can also admire his creations, he is a real artist, besides the fact that he is someone very passionate and kind. Here on the workshop side we feel his passion and devotion for the jewelry creation I hope you enjoyed our little visit to the Boutique, always delighted to meet people and see such unusual places! return to our walk, Place des Vosges Oldest Planned Square in Paris: Built between 1605 and 1612 by order of King Henry IV, Place des Vosges is the oldest planned square in Paris. The buildings feature red brick facades with white stone quoins and steep slate roofs with dormer windows, creating a harmonious and elegant appearance. Famous Residents: Over the centuries, Place des Vosges has been home to many notable figures. One of the most famous residents was the writer Victor Hugo, who lived at No. 6 from 1832 to 1848. His former residence is now a museum dedicated to his life and work. And we will visit his home at the end of the video! Name Origin: The name "Francs-Bourgeois" refers to "free citizens," originally pertaining to the inhabitants who were exempt from certain taxes during the Middle Ages. An old bakery facade which before was a real place where bread was baked has now become a clothing store! Interesting, no? Dedicated to Parisian History: The Musée Carnavalet is entirely dedicated to the history of Paris, from its origins to the present day. It provides a comprehensive overview of the city’s rich and diverse past. Today we will visit only the garden but I will show this nice place in a next walk, I just want to tease you a bit 🙂 just a little preview of what we are going to discover in another trip! It attracts both locals and tourists looking for unique fashion, jewelry, and home décor items. Rue Vieille du Temple is one of the oldest streets in Paris, dating back to the medieval period. It was originally a path leading to the Temple Quarter, which was home to the Knights Templar. Knights Templar Connection: The street’s name, "Vieille du Temple," refers to the Knights Templar, a medieval Catholic military order. The Templars had a significant presence in this area, which was known as the Temple Quarter. this is so beautiful, nice to add this one in our Street Art collection!
