point fingers at the flight’s pilot in command how does such a massive jet liner carrying so many people just vanish I detective Hudson plan to answer these questions or at least provide a reasonable Theory as to the mystery of the infamous flight 370 this is the final boarding call for Malaysia Airlines flight 370 to [Music] Beijing March 7th 2014 Malaysia Airlines flight 370 begins boarding at the koala lumper International Airport for its flight to Beijing in command is Captain zahari ahmmad sha he joined Malaysia Airlines as a Cadet pilot in 1981 and after training and receiving his commercial pilot’s license he became a second officer with the airline in 1983 he was promoted to captain of Boeing 737-400 airliners in 1991 captain of air bus a 33300 in 1996 and captain of the Boeing trip 7 in 1998 he had been a typ rating instructor and a typ rating examiner since 2007 zahari had a total of 18365 hours of flying experience the first officer was 27-year-old fari Abdul Hamid he joined Malaysia Airlines as a Cadet pilot in 2007 after becoming a Second Officer of Boeing 737 400 airliners he was promoted to First officer of the Boeing 737-400 in 2010 and then transitioned to the Airbus 330 in 2012 in November 2013 he began training as first officer of Boeing 7 aircraft flight 370 was his final training flight and he was scheduled to be examined on his next flight fari had accumulated 2763 hours of flying experience the flight in total carried 239 passengers 153 from China eight from Europe 13 from East Asia five from North America Six from Australia and two from New [Music] Zealand on board were also a group of 19 artists with six family members and four staff returning from a calligraphy exhibition of their work in quala Lumpur it was also later discovered that two Iranian passengers traveling on the flight used stolen Austrian and Italian passports the planned flight duration was 5 hours and 34 minutes which would consume an estimated 82,000 lb of jet fuel the aircraft carried 10 18,200 lb of fuel including reserves allowing an endurance of 7 hours and 31 minutes the extra fuel was enough to divert to alternate Airport’s Jinan yaoyang International traffic control to climb to flight level 1R on a direct path to navigational Waypoint IG AR at 12:46 lumper radar cleared flight 370 to flight level 350 at 10:1 a.m. flight 370’s crew reported to lumper radar that they had reached flight level 3 50 which they confirmed again at 108 a.m. shortly after departure the flight was transferred from the airport to lumper radar air traffic control on frequency 13 2.6 air traffic control over Peninsular Malaysia and adjacent Waters is provided by the quala lumper area control center lumper radar is the name of the frequency used for on rote air traffic at 1:19 a.m. Captain zahari acknowledged a transition from lumper radar to hoim Min air traffic control then the flight carried on safely to its [Music] destination at least that was the plan 8 370 maintaining level 35 Malayan 370 Malian 370 contact 120 decimal n night good 37 [Music] the Federal Aviation Administration has issued a missing planes report the aircraft is in Malaysia Airlines trip 7 she was last seen over the South China Sea at 1:22 a.m. she was believed to be traveling west over the Indian Ocean at 2:22 a.m. after Captain Zari acknowledged a transition from Lumpur radar the flight went silent that was the last time the crew was heard from the crew was expected to Signal ATC in Hoi Min City as the aircraft passed into Vietnamese airspace just north of the point where contact was lost the captain of another aircraft attempted to contact the crew of flight 370 shortly after 130 using the International Air distress frequency to relay Vietnamese air traffic controls request for the crew to contact them the captain said he was able to establish communication but heard only mumbling and static calls made to flight 370’s cockpit at 239 and 713 were unanswered but acknowledged by the aircraft satellite data unit at 1:20 a.m. flight 370 was observed on radar at the Koala Lumpur CC as it passed the navigational Waypoint agari in the Gulf of Thailand 5 seconds later the mode s symbol disappeared from radar screens at 1:21 a.m. flight 370 disappeared from the radar screen at quala lumur CC and was lost at about the same time on radar at hoochi Min CC which reported that the aircraft was at the nearby Waypoint biod or traffic control uses secondary radar which relies on a signal emitted by a transponder on each aircraft therefore the while the aircraft’s computer had sent a series of handshakes to nearby communication Towers the flight deck was silent and nothing was on radar hours had passed and Beijing still didn’t have flight 370 after hours and no sign of the aircraft or Transmissions from the cockpit Malaysia soon realized that something was very very wrong breaking news tonight A Malaysia Airlines flight with 239 people had a YouTube channel that until the vanishing was relatively active [Music] in one of his videos he has flight simulator with what appears to be a Malaysia 7 on the monitor while by itself it’s nothing to take note of however it was later discovered that in the flight simulator he had flown a route that was very similar to the path that flight 370 had taken it was also determined that he had attempted to wipe the data about a month [Music] prior detectives interviewed the family and friends of Zari many including his daughter claimed that his mental health was rapidly declining his daughter went on to claim he was unrecognizable he was in no position to be flying zahari had also been in the midst of marital issues he had been flirting with other women on multiple occasions just after flight 370 had acknowledged the handoff from Air Traffic Control the transponder had been shut off there was no indication that the trip 7 had been suffering electrical malfunctions the only way it could have turned off was if it had been manually deactivated the only people with the ability to do that would be the flight crew that leaves the primary suspect the captain in command however that’s only one Theory the other theory is that the whole thing is a cover up from the Malaysian military either it was shot down or went missing due to incomp Ence on the part of the military Public Communication from Malaysian officials regarding the loss of flight 370 was initially a storm of confusion the Malaysian government and the airline released impr precise incomplete and occasionally inaccurate information with civilian officials sometimes contradicting military leaders Malaysian officials were criticized for such persistent release of contradictory information most notably regarding the last location and time of contact with the aircraft international relations experts suggested that entrenched rivalries over sovereignty security intelligence and national interests made meaningful multilateral cooperation very difficult a Chinese academic made the observation that the parties were searching independently and it was therefore not a multilateral search effort Vietnam temporarily scaled back its search operations after the country’s Deputy transport Minister cited a lack of communication from from Malaysian officials despite requests for more information China through the official Zena news agency urged the Malaysian government to take charge and conduct the operation with greater transparency a point echoed by the Chinese foreign Ministry Days [Music] Later Malaysia had initially declined to release raw data from its military radar deeming the information too sensitive defense experts suggested that giving others access to radar information could be sensitive on a military level for example the rate at which they can take the picture can also reveal how good the radar system is one suggested that some countries could already have had radar data on the aircraft but were reluctant to share any information that could potentially reveal their defense capabilities and compromise their own security similarly submarines patrolling the South China Sea might have information in the event of a water impact and sharing such information could reveal their locations and listening capabilities many Air Force experts raised questions and the Malaysian opposition leveled criticisms about the state of Malaysia’s Air Force and radar capabilities many criticized the failure of the royal Malaysian air force to identify and respond to an unidentified aircraft later determined to be flight 370 flying through Malaysian airspace the Malaysian military became aware of the unidentified aircraft only after reviewing radar recordings several hours after the flight’s disappearance the failure to recognize and react to the unidentified aircraft was a security breach and was also a missed opportunity to intercept flight 370 and prevent the time consuming an expensive search operation the Malaysian prime minister Naji brzak responded to criticism of his government in an opinion piece published in the Wall Street Journal in which he acknowledged mistakes had been made and said time would show that Malaysia had done its best had helped coordinate the search and would continue to provide support najib went on to emphasize the need $40 million for the 227 passengers on board despite the announcement that the flight ended in the southern Indian Ocean it was not until January 29th that the Malaysian government officially declared flight 370 in accident with no survivors a move that would allow compensation claims to be made the first civil case relating to The Disappearance was filed in October 2014 even before flight 370 had been declared an accident on behalf of two Malaysian boys whose father was a passenger they were claiming for negligence in failing to contact the aircraft soon after it was lost and for breach of contract for failing to bring the passenger to his destination additional civil proceedings against Malaysia Airlines were filed in China and Malaysia some Chinese citizens boycot caued all things Malaysian including holidays and singers in protest of Malaysia’s handling of the flight 370 investigation bookings on Malaysia Airlines from China where the majority of passengers were from were down while investigators found debris that most likely belonged to the plane near the Indian Ocean there have also been unconfirmed reports of sightings on Google Maps Ian Wilson after searching Google Maps claimed to have found a potential crash site the alleged sighting was over a dense Cambodian jungle at the time an object measuring to be almost the same as a Boeing Tri 7 was at a random Point within the jungle Ian and his brother attempted to locate the object but because of the terrain of the Jungle it became too dangerous and had to turn around however Ian stated that he and his brother plann to reattempt the voyage into the jungle at some [Music] point while experts have dismissed the possibility it has gained traction as many cambodians claim to have witnessed a plane flying near the jungle on the night of The Disappearance as to the reason for the flight landing in a jungle is a mystery it’s equally as plausible as other theories so how did the plane vanish and who was the
