pretty big holes it might be very wet and slippery could get stuck in it can be sunny one minute and a swimming pool the next minute most likely everything you’re wearing and holding will get W beautiful hidden waterfalls helps you to understand why the houses are built on stilts what a player welcome to uh the never- ending track track That Never Ends J going to tr through the never- ending track hey guys welcome back for another video on never-ending track today we are going to be talking about something that’s very very important for you to know if you are planning on traveling to Cambodia or if you are living in Cambodia or any other Southeast Asian country rainy season in this video we’ll be covering everything you’ll need to know about the rainy season and how to make the best out of your trip while you are here or the well prepared for when rainy season starts Cambodia is a pretty hot country most of the year however there is a time of year rainy season monsoon season wet season whatever you want to call it usually starts from around May until October with the heaviest rainfall being in September and October during this time the country experiences heavy rainfall and some pretty bad flooding in some areas making it important for travelers and people living and working in the country to be well prepared many foreigners come to Cambodia during the rainy season or some other Southeast Asian countries during the rainy season not knowing what to expect or not even knowing a single thing about rainy season the rain usually comes in waves sometimes it’s bucketing down other times it’s pretty loud sometimes it rains for a few minutes and other times it rains for hours and hours and hours and hours and hours so how can you prepare for the rain maybe you are living in Cambodia already or maybe you are traveling to Cambodia either way you need to know how to be prepared for rainy season step one on how to be prepared make sure you have something that is waterproof whether it’s just a plastic packet or a waterproof bag just something that you can keep your valuable items in like your phone power bank cameras or any other electronic device if you get caught in the rain it can be any one minute and a swimming pool the next minute most likely everything you’re wearing and holding will get wet if you don’t mind getting a little bit wet in the rain try getting a poncho or rain coat you can get the full suit if you are living in Cambodia and you ride a motorcycle or a bicycle then you might want to get yourself a rain suit here’s a little footage from rainy season last year this one cost us around $5 but they are cheaper ones that you can get um more disposable for around 2,000 real which is 50 cents in USD if you are just traveling through and you want to know where you can find these during rainy season you’ll see them selling them on the side of the streets AKA sper shops or in most mini Mars you can get the 2,000 real one and if you are riding a motorcycle or a bicycle might want to get yourself a more durable one which will cost you around 20,000 real the next one is packing in some waterproof shoes or some sandals slide luies flip flops whatever you want to call it but definitely not closed shoes because of the flooding these are not puddles sometimes the water can get up to your waste I usually keep some flip-flops in the boot of my back I’ll just put them on while I’m riding and then when I get to where I need to be I’ll put my shoes back on and the last thing is mainly for The Travelers if you are planning your vacation during rainy season in Cambodia I would advise you to find some rain friendly accommodation uh some of the accommodations out in the provinces the roads are not the best the roads might be very wet and slippery and and there may be some pretty big holes that your Tuk Tok car orar could get stuck in so I would advise using Google Maps or Google Earth and checking the roads to your accommodation so you have an easier time getting in and out how to stay safe during rainy season the first thing is if the rain is coming down very hard most people are driving a little bit more wild during the heavy rainfall so I would advise taking a Tuk Tuk or a private taxi so the transportation apps you can use are Pass App grab weig go and Tada if none of those apps are available you can just try calling a Tuk Tok driver but just make sure you negotiate the price before you even get in another thing is you’ll notice a lot of people playing in the rainwater in the floods if you are going to be playing in that water just a little reminder that water is building up from the drains so there may be a few strange things floating around in there so just make sure you watch your step despite the rain there are still plenty of things you can see and do in Cambodia during the rainy season it might actually be one of the best times to visit Cambodia and here’s a few reasons why the first reason is that there’s going to be less tourists the most popular attractions like ankle white are usually very very crowded and there are loads of tourists everywhere but this time of year there is a lot less tourists and it’s perfect for seeing these tourist attractions without it being overcrowded the next thing is the low prices so since it’s rainy season there’s a lot less tourists coming through so the hotels hostels restaurants and all other businesses that rely on the tourism usually offer discounts and special prices during this time so this is a perfect opportunity for you to save some money and still experience the amazing Kingdom of Cambodia the next part is the unique Landscapes from waterfalls to the more jungle side of Cambodia where everything is wet the grass is growing um during the dry season you’ll see most of the plants and grass end up drying up so it just looks way more beautiful during rainy season the rain also starts to fill up the rivers more which lead to these beautiful hidden waterfalls all around Cambodia which I highly recommend checking out and also the floating villages so during the rainy season that water level is rising up again and that helps you to understand why the houses are built on stilts and why they have these floating villages the rainy season is also the time of B which is a water festival a traditional boat racing Festival that is held in Cambodia every year so overall while rainy season might not be the peak tourist season it can still be a rewarding and unique experience for those who are willing to adapt and explore that’s it for today’s video I hope you guys found these tips helpful if there’s anything you’re not sure about or you need me to explain more drop a comment down below if you’re new don’t
