Starting from Santorini, Dominica and I, and the teens Emily and Madeline take the ferry to Heraklion where we spend one night before renting a car and driving to our vacation home in Aptera, near Chania. From there we hit the beaches of Palaiochora and put on some bathing suits to do some sunbathing and instagramming on Pachia Ammos. Next it is shopping in the old city markets of Chania and exploring the Venetian harbor. Emily tries loukoumi for the first time as well as drinking raki. And the girls discover some interesting souvenirs for sale in the market. This is just the beginning of our time on Crete, let alone our Summer 2019 European Grand Tour.
