This is Why You NEED To Visit Naples, Italy
this is the greatest Adventure I’ve ever been on in my life I’m Noah I’m 21 years old and for the next 12 days I’m traveling across the country of Italy visiting some of the most famous cities in the world backd dropped by some of the most breathtaking views a young traveler can aspire to see yesterday I was in the highly underrated city of Regio Calabria but early this morning I hopped on a train to visit the next spot on my list the legendary city of Naples [Music] folks welcome to Naples Italy for those of you who are new to the channel hi I’m Noah welcome to the channel nokki travels this is my second day exploring Italy we are in Naples for the next 2 days I just checked into my hostel and the first thing that I wanted to do is show you guys the view of the balcony welcome to Napoli soon after I went to grab some lunch conveniently right next to the hostel was a hole in the- wall pasta bar and I enjoyed real Italian pasta carbonera for the very first time in truth that’s the whole reason I wanted to visit Naples is because it gives you that authentic Italian experience while it’s certainly a tourist destination for those traveling to Italy it’s not the busy destinations like Rome or Florence it’s a big city in Italy not as known for its travel with a lot of culture to go go [Music] around now since I don’t know much about this city at all I kind of just went on Google Maps and played what am I going to do roulette so I picked a spot and it ended up being the Castel W I didn’t even know this place existed until I found it on Google Maps not 20 minutes ago but oh my goodness this is look cool this is such a traditional Castle there’s a moat around it with water and stuff except in this case it’s just construction crap and a drawbridge classic towers for defense oh that’s cool like look at this the Castel noovo is a medieval castle located in the heart of Naples and is among the most famous landmarks in the city for its centralized location size and strong standing nearly 800 years after its initial construction although its name meaning New Castle is a tad outdated now it began Construction in 1266 by Charles the of Naples and it was built on a strategic location to protect the city of Naples from foreign Invaders now it remains one of the most popular tourist sites in the entire city as I was heading to my next location someone on the subway noticed my camera and asked if I was a YouTuber I decided to try something out of my comfort zone and I asked him if he’d like to be in the video and sat him down for a sprout likee interview just hopped off the subway and I ran into a local Napoli citizen named Bonito I’m here for 2 days tomorrow I’m spending a little bit of time looking around Pompei what do you recommend what is something I absolutely have to see in Napoli okay we meet on the Metro from municipio Square okay and there wasito Square okay that is wonderful it is like a paradise okay I live here from 1 month uh just one month oh okay I understood I misunderstood that my bad no no no no I’m not napolitan I’m of benevento but I like so much this city thank you very much thank you so much for that see you soon see you soon we’re going to save B a suggestion for later but first one of the things I wanted to focus on in Naples was the history so to find some cool history we just have to go in the subway tunnel hop over a couple stations come outside and our next big attraction is the muse archeologico naal Napoli one of the most important things you can do as a traveler in a foreign country is experiencing culture and history and one of the big things that Napoli has is Rich history so let’s check this out [Music] ah thank you for setting the mood my past self Italian culture is known for its Arc particularly its strong Renaissance period however the region has strong cultural ties to the ancient Romans Greeks Egyptian among many others which is why you see such a large collection of these artworks in the archaeological Museum of Naples many of the statues here are Roman copies however some extremely famous sculptures like feres Hercules here on screen are original works that are well over 2,000 years old [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh what fun the streets of Naples at night what could possibly go wrong I love the atmosphere of this city so far and I’m here for 2 days I was only on a Calabria for one day but I get to be here for 2 days taking Bono’s advice I walked around to my next point of Interest Plaza del Pito walking around Napoli was one of the coolest things about spending time here and appreciating my surroundings that most citizens here either ignore or neglect was a treat it felt Monumental to just stand still and observe my surroundings one thing I’ve already noticed about Naples is the sheer amount of life that’s in this city right in the heart of Naples and there’s just so much going on here and just like that we’ we’ walked all the way to our next Landmark the incredible PIAA dip heavy sea toour it’s been open to the public since the early 1800 all around us are these fantastic old buildings that is a basilica it’s a neoclassical Basilica I can’t remember the name of the Basilica I’ll just like subtitles yeah I knew that dude this part of Naples is just beautiful oh oh pretty view I don’t know if it’ll come well on the camera but this is really nice so that there is also part of the skyline of Naples cuz Naples is a really really big city and behind it the silhouette behind it is Mount vvus Mount vvus has been near the top of my bucket list since I was 7 years old having read many books about natural disasters and the Pompei incident in 79 ad we won’t be exploring Pompei or anywhere near Mount vvus today but it’ll make a great subject for next week’s video I mean volcano crater on one side the city of Pompei on the other side I’ve done it as the night carried on I was looking for supper at nearly 10:00 p.m. I went to a place that was renowned for its Pizza it’s called a ginoo okay I might have to rethink this this is like a hot spot for pizza Michelin Star Master Chef [Music] I saw this place it was really close to the other one so I figured out just St over here but a 4.7 out of 5 on 3,000 revs that’s a reliable source it’s no joke what they say pizza in Naples is the best pizza you will ever have I can’t even try to explain this to you seriously if you ever get the chance please go to Naples and have a pizza it’s only something that you can experience for yourself and I’m so thrilled I got this chance and in typical Italian fashion how I hope to finish every single meal and night a nice little bowl or cone of gelato UHA media um the fra yogurt pistachio I ordered myself a full gelato in only Italian I am low key very proud of myself for that I’m not going to [Music] lie woo got it [Applause] it wow dude I love me some jazz that was fantastic stumbled upon them while I was walking on my way to this pizza place after all that the night grew darker and I went back to my hostel for the night preparing for another huge day of traveling to come I had high hopes for Napoli and it certainly did not disappoint from incredible castles and landmarks to Define artwork from thousands of years ago from chatting with local Neapolitan to eating the best pizza life has ever known I am honored the city offered me a piece of their culture and I feel I got the real Italian experience from just a day here like I set out to do thank you all so much for joining me on my first time in Naples it was an incredible experience next week’s video is going to be about the ancient Pompei city as well as hiking up Mount vuia if you’re excited for that please hit the Subscribe button and hit the Bell In this video, I explored the art, history, music, and food of one of Italy’s biggest cities, and it proved for one of the most rewarding travel adventures to date. I hope to prove that Napoli is the real Italian experience, and that you consider grabbing a bite of this incredible city.
Naples is the third largest city in Italy behind powerhouse cities like Rome, and Milan. Situated on the Bay of Naples of the Mediterranean Sea, the city is looked upon unfavourably as a high-crime, gritty city without the stellar sights of other places like Rome and Venice. However, this was the kind of city I was aiming to visit.
While still being decently popular among tourists, Naples offers a piece of a more authentic Italian culture, one without tourist traps and Anglophone-oriented cultures. Instead, Napoli is a more laid back, Italian-strong city that I visited to challenge myself.
