[Music] hello and welcome to the Old Town paos paos Cy good morning to one and all hello so if you’ve watched the last Vlog you’ll know by now that we’ve actually arrived in the old toown fire Cab Taxi and I haven’t got my hat and we haven’t started this yet so you’re going to enjoy this is at the same time as we going to enjoy this hopefully oh my sunglasses I forgot them just told you to go and buy some I don’t want you moaning all day right let’s do this yeah check this out for a beautiful restaurant it’s very much Italian feel feel about it and they sell pizza I don’t know what to do say it’s Italian is it how do you know that it didn’t say she says Italian food on it I didn’t see that so this is the start of the shops area what really we’re not going to follow a map we’re just going for yeah can’t believe I forgot my hat I’m so Lu you can buy some should be cheap enough outside a hands crafty shop called Art and love oh and love there’s a lot of love that’s gone into those don’t know if you’re really going to be able to see yeah got some beautiful stuff now we are here a little bit early so things might not oh it does say open but things might not be quite opened as yet well I don’t know which way to go I’m thinking this way either down there or up here I will follow you yeah let’s go not sure if these are actually oh they are shops I weren’t sure if it’s a market apparently there’s meant to be a market around here somewhere so we’re not after anything particular but if we see something beautiful colors of the yes it’s lovely is it oh that’s gorgeous it’s lovely when you get like the sparkly bits in your clothes they shine really beautifully in the sunlight really really nice shop there you know the one where just come on I saw you no it said in there free bags they’re giving away free bags are they free bags oh do they mean carrier bag but it was right next to a load of handbags too good to be true oh there’s some kind of indor thing there look babe I don’t know what it is should we take a there’s so much to this place I will just show these dresses I know not all men want to see this they’re unusual really lovely so boob chy dresses I got robbed oh you got this yesterday yeah I paid 780 for it 695 well you needed it I’m not sure if we said we went swimming Did we tell we went swimming you did I did yeah we’re going to go again today after the market here today shops or town whatever you want to call it freshly squeezed orange juice we going to cross the road there’s your bus sort of station bit there but if you look look at the few out there it’s amazing see all of paos we’re down there somewhere I suppose aren’t we oh is it thanks so okay come in Pat all right the thing is we’re not actually staying in pathos aren’t we I think they call it kto pathos or something oh okay I don’t know which is a suburb of pathos right I don’t know let’s just go up here just wonderand I don’t know what we’re doing no we haven’t found anything exciting yet nothing that’s grabbing me I know for a fact there is a few there’s like a park which might have a couple of little bits worth filming in it finding it isn’t it well we got all day we’ve only just arrived calm down yes they do look after the plants up here some beautiful trees all the cafes have look at all these really nice yeah I’m finding that very useful Maz it what 5 m to Asian food if you don’t know what 5 m is I’m guessing it’s from here to about that door there no oh there were a comment last night the other night ma someone ripping me to bits because I keep doing this I keep pointing as I’m talking and they had a problem with that don’t worry about it darling actually actually Church okay we’re finding something at last let’s go check that out now this is what I would call Old tow look at the balcony on that beautiful and this church very well preserved it’s got uh lovely colored glass or something up there do you think it’s old I think it’ll be reasonably old can’t tell I can’t tell with the building oh that looks beautiful it can we get in oh we can’t get in it is no it’s locked definitely der look I was about to say that’s a shame a that makes the towel look pretty when you see it in the distance doesn’t it can we not get oh we can get in there there’s people in there it I just thought it were locked but it’s clearly not look at this one it’s like an old jail obviously some shop or something kioa Supermarket derel Supermarket let’s get in there let’s have a good look can you get in cool all we’re finding in Oldtown is cool deric things I don’t mind it though that’s my cup of tea right let’s take a walk around yeah we’re just being told to get in here you need to go around the other side cuz this is locked at this side so that’s a map of Cyprus is it if for anyone who doesn’t know um Mazi went to irona which I think is about here and we are right on the other side which is pathos which I’m not sure I’ll be honest yeah but it would have been past this line though would no I would guess about here for pathos and this line is separating the northern Turkish side to the southern cypriate side because turkey invaded in 1974 and took some of the country naughty boys there is quite a few people you can go on an Excursion it takes you up to the borderline and it’s like a ghost town because I think there’s like a 2 miles um between On the Border where it’s just dur buildings and things and it would have been interesting but too hot going to show this little Cactus lit on the side it looks like a bunny rabbit doesn’t it little bit it funny rabbit a little bit a little bit what a bargain what a bargain you know what somebody out there would actually love that I’d love that it’s €300 €300 yeah for an isui trooper I would love that Mazi never mind hiring a car for same price you can own one might not have an now but you don’t know so risk worth taking oh do you think this is it or is that someone’s Garden no that’s locked so it’s still all the way around then I’m really impressed with the greenery up here in the old town gone to a lot of effort oh there’s limes on there are there limes I’m guessing the limes round green balls I did see for sale in one of the shops the other day kumquats do you know what kumquats are well I’ve heard of it if from my memory they were all over sight CaRu when I went went there as a kid and I thought they’d be here but I haven’t seen any kumquats con quats con quats yeah they’re horrible definitely yeah here’s the church right let’s see what we can see so I don’t know what the church is called yet is it a synagogue is that supposed to be the Star of David I’m not sure can sort of see know what it is I don’t know if they can see in there but I can a little bit I have seen some Graves see if who this is I don’t that’s a weird Monument oh wild cat rra FAA oh 1974 wonder if he died in the war yeah all these died in 1974 I bet these are all soldiers you know 1974 these will be soldiers Graves from when turkey invaded nice to see they’re all honored I don’t think we can get in here starting to have me doubts it is old I’m over here come over here I can see you you’re there um the Church of Aya Sophia it was converted into a mosque during the Ottoman period between 1571 and 1878 so it’s old I’m getting the impression it said something about 14th century so so it’s a mosque last time it was used it’s got a beautiful feel here with this coming over isn’t it so that must be the star from Islam then not is it a 1 2 3 4 5 6 is it five for the Jewish I don’t know I’m showing me ignorance I wanted to say something go on where You’ got all like the stain glass windows look if you look through there they’re shying it down on the floor look look in there it’s not going to show it’s beautiful isn’t it they might be able to see it if I do that but yeah you can see the windows up the windows are up there yeah yeah that’s quite nice that looks like a disco a nightclub that’s a shame again there is it well it’s just a mosque is it what it’s a mosque love your building yeah but even if it was open probably wouldn’t be allowed in a mosque anyway we’d have to take her shoes off go on then it would you like a little fact go on then yeah for the fact I would like to thank chelam drones yeah for sending me this one thank you there are three types of venomous snakes in Cyprus mhm the blunt nosed Viper uhhuh the cat snake yeah and the macro Viper letina oh you don’t want to come across one of them let’s get out of here it’s all grassy yeah you take that I’m off don’t do that another wild cat just found a wonderfully cool spot there haven’t you hey hello doesn’t look as if he might might be friendly so I won’t stroke that one I’ll tell a fact as well anyway all right go on then I’ve had two pet snakes before oh you didn’t tell me that so I’m not particularly scared but I just don’t want them bite in my toes ah another one of them holes were talking about so dangerous um another cat there’s cats dotted all over here yeah and a lot more here than when we were down there I feel anyway now what we’ve decided we’re doing we’re actually leaving the middle of Oldtown out at the moment we’re just walking around the outskirts because we’re finding the most interesting things see stuff that you wouldn’t usually see I’ve see something here here you know like people’s houses and how they live yeah and how they lived Once Upon a Time and the different balconies and shapes so we might see some interesting stuff look at this balcony made out of um is it a balcony it’s made out of planks or something scaffolding boards in it scaffold yeah so my idea of going around the outskirts it’s not working brilliantly because of how the sheet sheets streets are shaped um but we’re right at the top of it now I think and I just saw this in the distance can you see it just like a hand and a man dummy looking at it yeah I feel we’re in a bit of a this isn’t a tourist bit this is your main proper shops yeah but we go round and down see where it takes us shall we again I think we’re on the outskirts here but it’s just all modern shops if this is Old Town if we’re still in Old Town I’ll tell you what my Town’s older than this they’re still in experience though because you’re getting that sort of local feel aren’t you oh look at this amazing place what is that what see all the artwork out a garage it’s a garage I think down here ma you want to go straight down go on we’ve been doing it now we might as well carry on Sushi art I don’t do art but here you go it is a ram playing music in the olden days what’s that all about Charis Kristoff faru 2017 God that’s sted on there well I just saw some green I just wanted to talk about artwork quick artwork used to be a graffiti so to say used to be so lot graffiti used to be artwork now they all use stencils don’t they even Banksy used stencil they started it didn’t they yeah probably yeah stencils I can do a stencil anyone can do a stencil yeah that’s not art unless it’s got a really good meaning which has they’ve invented and no one else has ever done it before sweat on me already right that’s not what I thought it was no I don’t think oh it might be might be what is this the back of a restaurant or something back of a restaurant I’m I’m expecting to see a park and I haven’t found it yet well I didn’t see on the sign there’s a sign post there there’s nothing like that on more artwork that’s quite nice I like that one I think that’s meant to be Aphrodite ones though oh there’s an arch with I ain’t going under that look what’s holding that up yeah let’s give that a Miss we’re determined to stick to the edges first and then go into the middle ooh oh they’re all looked after let’s just have a wow this will be in McDonald’s next week what’s the coffee shops called we’ve worked out the park I was looking for is right up there somewhere where here and it’s showing it down here where the town all is but I don’t know how far distance that is so we’re going to leave that that could be ages as yet couldn’t it it could be it could be around the car off yeah there look 2 minutes is that so 3 minute walk it’s 350 M where is it do want 350 no that’s like you B what that help it’s like walking over not far off half a mile there in back so let’s just leave it in this heat in this Heat Big Fish Marketplace here I’ve seen quite a few fishy places oh cat and the artwork goes on that’s a nice one a cat and a goldfish staring at the Goldfish Bowl very nice finding a lot of art don’t know can of milk or something can of cream squirty the same guy actually look it’s the same one yeah Cher christop foru it does put some color around I like it I like it if it’s nicely done a lot of der around here is it’s weird we haven’t actually seen any of Oldtown really no not yet just walked all the way around it not been in it I think for one because this is going to be good if you’re after shopping but we’re not particularly after shopping we can’t fit no more in our suitcases come Nick oh yeah don’t forget it’s England when you’re wearing that Red Dress we got to go back to Birmingham to get that dress no that’s if Liverpool win the Champions League oh we’ll be back to Birmingham you love to excuse the noise but I’ve always wondered where local like holiday makers go when you go abroad where do now let say the cyprians go well they go to better holidays look they go on cruises they go to America so this would be like their luxury holiday for them wouldn’t it roads next Island on no but you know valy Malta yeah mainly cruises there actually Rome yeah Rome fre nights 2.99 are they cheap I don’t even know if they’re cheap actually they’re very expensive well they are that’s cruises are expensive though these are expensive reckon they’re as much as we in England yeah oh okay you got a little playground here for the kids with a sun canopy thankfully and another church this looks quite Grand very Grand oh yeah this is nice and this is the front of it does look quite Grand it’s called agios KES quite nice but not open a memorial over here let’s see who this is too no there’s no English on it so I can’t tell you anything about that there’s a lot of closed down empty shops around the edge of Oldtown that’s for sure I say two I think two years ago it was they were restoring it all so all the middle of it looks perfect but the edges but I like that giv it character yeah I like it song you know what that means something to do with a cypriate folk song go on you sing it go on I like it it’s got boobies in it well here then should we sing together or the queen sends a slave to fetch the girl up and way up Roosa the queen wants you are a d NOA then got dressed with pearls and gold and fabrics and went to the queen’s tower well done yay I know that one it’s a 14th century folk song a few from up here again so looks like we’ve actually done a full loop have we lost M let’s face it we don’t know where we are we’ve got lost we we’ve lost old town let me talk I think it’s that over there where we got dropped off in the taxi it is over there so we’ve literally done a whole Loop all the way around like that and then out here and up here and still not gone into Oldtown no that’s a nice building it’s very Grand is it we’re actually looking for Coke or something now because it’s been quite a few hours and um not even had a cold drink yet this morning what about caffero it’s not very no no no it’s not very holiday is it see there you go look there’s your old churchy thing so we need to go walk all the way around no look at this L this is cool little fountains it B we got to walk all the way around he don’t ever listen could go all the way around good job babe nearly missed this one it’s a girl it’s a little pixie girl oh my gosh it’s a girl in the sparrow ma girl in oh somebody’s stolen a sparrow some Nick him to go oh yeah just in that direction somewhere yeah go for it so that’s just one of the many many cafes and restaurants here but this is a good one because you got this massive tree covering everything and it’s so cool under there yeah right let’s go oh gosh it’s hot now as you might have noticed Mazy just found me sunglasses in the bottom of a bag I do like that cap that would go with a lot of my claws with that one but is it a bit yeah it’s a bit I no it’s not too thick I pointed one out like that before cuz I said it would match a lot of your That’s my kind of color isn’t it yeah look Turtle everybody seems to enjoyed the turtle that we saw at the dinner they did they did I think somebody had asked actually was that just the one off but I’ve got the impression it come it kind of lives there it I don’t know I don’t know no idea the bar stuff seem to recognize it you know and know know all about it so so this is the Minal Market what’s municipal Market I think Ma is trying to say we just take a walk around yeah yeah yeah just go this way so it’s all gift shopped which are not what we’re looking for today but we just want to show you around show you what to expect I think we’ve already been up here ma yeah we have so that’s the dress shop you tried to drag me into unsuccessfully so I’m guessing we came up here so we haven’t done none of this area in the center I’m guessing the mun Municipal Market is just all these stalls outside so through the day I think there’s a market on the proper Market on Saturday mornings so I think that’s the best time to probably come through the day what you mean proper because then I did see a sign for the fruit market well a Saturday Morning Market every every Saturday I think so if you’re coming through the day I’d suggest coming on a Saturday morning or any evening I think it does take off here well hold on we were going to come Saturday and you said the shops closed or something the closes at lunchtime you know you m shops it all closes down at lunchtime I mean there’s still a lot of shops closed now actually yeah and it is what after 11 now Verandas up there so yeah as far as an Old Town goes this isn’t what we’re used to for old towns it’s I mean it’s pretty it’s nice to get out of the that’s exactly what I were going to say you know it’s just it’s just nice to get out of the wherever you go on holiday you get bored of going around the same sea front all the time so it was just nice to see something a bit different today and you do have all the shops so I don’t feel me and you are going to be walking around much I’m going to be honest it’s not as big as I thought so what we’ve just shown you there is probably as much as it is we haven’t really shown you much of in the middle because it is just craft shops really gift shops gift shops yeah yeah you can go up like little L take a walk up here I know what’s going on there there’s two or three W that one Ma’s found something she’s mad about very interesting story I just heard then about Aphrodite here she is so these Mazi yes are based on the there is a figure like that which they found all right right with no arms with no well well they took it to Paris it’s in the Lou now in Paris and it’s no arms cuz apparently it got dropped off the boat or something in the SE oh no and it arms fell off oh no that’s the story is this anyway so we’ll see that’s nice and cool this is interesting Ain it darling Oh you’re high at least they got airon on here it’s actually nice and cool isn’t it so that was two each to get back so € 12 in a taxi or 4 One Way one way yeah would you believe it first charity shop I’ve seen it’s at Michael’s hospice that was an experience God it couldn’t hello guys it couldn’t drive hello filming at the minute filming at the minute God two each that’s not bad to get back yeah if you get back in one piece Scotty drove like a Nutter I told you they do over here you know there’s these barriers on all the tight corners and stuff and he’s just whizzing around them you got anxiety problems then didn’t you I did it was only a 10-minute trip probably not even there but my anxiety started playing up yeah but a lot cheaper than the taxi and I think it was 2250 for a day ticket so you can get there and back for 250 we should have done that should have done that yeah that that was good right we’re back yeah back at his apartment um if this video is long enough which it might be by now oh sorry Dar you’re going to go in you can’t see these ebra Crossings they’re not painted very well at all I’ll tell you something interesting about the SE Crossings the cats seem to cross at the SE Crossings strange yeah we’ve been watching him from from his balcony which is up there somewhere yeah I don’t know which one uh so yeah if this video is long enough we’ll cut it here we’ll try and see you again tomorrow there will be another video on tonight um which is one of his like food reviews Oh Yeah Exploring around the old town in Paphos, Cyprus turned into an adventure as we walked around its outskirts and checked out some areas you might not see by sticking to the tourist centre. We also go into the taxi and bus prices and compare the two.
