Rovinj, Croatia
welcome to the welcome this is our hotel hotel part of the M collection show you first uh a look of Rin it’s a coastal town Kar Lang from so we’re going to got some lunch first and we in fact in Croatia oh yeah Croatia from Slovenia now we’re in Croatia and um we’re going to have a walking tour later first we have lunch we just had lunch and we’re are on our way to meet our guide for our Robin tour very Italian because while this is part of Croatia still they have know they use the Italian language they are bilingual here look at the flag there it’s a Croatian and Italian flag they have um Rich tradition and history with Italy no your required to I think they’re required to present both is it the other both other country in pan yeah yeah so we’re back here in the coast going back to our hotel where we’re going to where we’re going to meet our and up there you can also see the line of St Mark which reminds us about the venan Heritage the same line you can see the Tower with the clock across the square and basically um this Tre well like nowadays it’s more like a square over here used to be a canal so this car was and was completely surrounded by but uh the same thing as everywhere El no more threads yeah yeah exactly no more turs no more threat more and so on so that’s why they decided to do more so this house is the mayor ofor your hotel is just next to you actually very like hot all streets are mainly P now might be slippery so be careful uh roin is known for sure since 7th Century according to rtin sources but the same R sources um same the first for the first time when it was mentioned uh in 7th Century uh it was said that the town is at least 200 years old already was established in third fourth Cur by this time roin is something like 1800 years old but the place um was always considered um very important trading point and this is why a different um um neighbors uh from time to time tried to capture uh this is why eventually 13th century local people government decided that they want to join Venetian Republic as a protector well so so protector I would say because after that was captured by Jes other Italians from genua also a few times and uh Robin also experienced Automan Turkish race you after that but still it had its own garment there is a very old settlement which comes from the period of time approximately 2,000 of years before Christ and this is one of the settlements nowadays it’s archeological and it’s one of the settlement the people who used to live here um for Christian times let’s say uhan tribes lians were one of the first to leave in the area or among those who we know at least by name simple and uh the main Cal main church is not here and now sarcophagus uh which they say B soia which were brought here by local fishermen long the ro oh important century when V took control over roing stock appeared here and besides fisherman and sailors there Traders just comes from early long 1730s it was later renovated inure on the same spot was early Christian Church oh yeah she simia eia theeran Sailors yeah and himself um according to a legend uh a few local fishermen got into a s storm started to pray and appeared wake in the end at the coast of ring uh watching um some kind of um something big Made of Stone sinking next to uh the coastal line they told about that the locals and the locals started to try to get this thing made of stone thing out of water they bring oxes and with oxes started to pull this on the top of this hill this appear to be and Asian sarcophagus sarcophagus and the relics of stania according to his wow still there in this Roman sopus sarcus comes from 6th century s died in one of Roman games in Coliseum col and that’s how according to the artist they’ve been bringing the sarcophagus with her relics to the top of the hill C the bell tower it’s possible to go up but at this time it’s very windy so it might be dangerous to go up there now I will give you a panoramic view of the now we are not used to this yeah there’s a house there where yeah probably the oh private houses here wow you notice a bunker uh there are quite a lot of them in the area uh these are all consequences of World War II let say they were they have built a lot of them around the coastal line at that period of time this area was mainly controlled uh by so-called Kingdom of Croatia but kingdom was a puppet state of Germany butly this area was controlled by Italy and uh they’ve been preparing for any kind of assaults and so on building bunkers all over the coastal line not so many of them remain till nowadays but from time to time we can see a few nice houses as you can notice shutters are closed in many houses and that’s typical for this part of year quite a lot of houses consist of apartments for rent of course everything is f uh summer but almost completely empty here lots of people who live here also come for summer period of time they somewhere else in Cati apartment is that apartment oh wow direct to the Sea yeah wow exactly it was like a view point it’s covered here sow leash care care wow in summertime there’s a CA Oh there’s a cafe here nice wow the sunset is from that side oh beautiful of course War not so I guess it’s like a hotel during summer yeah you have your own I would say I would say it’s like almost everywhere over here so these houses apartment and R almost every almost in uh moving from more access to this see it’s typical for all the coastal sites when I became part of oslavia from the very beginning even though it was socialist time started development as um as a resort visitors from the social very much popular look at how close the oh view of the know the houses here from here oh yeah okay that’s nice so close to the water [Applause] local complex here and this is how it looks from we came from there sound standing right so basically the B even though completely out of limestone Rock and 18th century they decided to connect oh uh the island with the mainland but uh it was like the same in a few other towns of this Ed itic Coast again the islands here are very close to the mainland how they appear we have spoken about and uh quite often the video here the for safety reasons people used to um establish their settlements on the island close to the mainland on the island for s that was the story where so there are a lot of restaurants along the is not the best time for fishing m where tourists there are a lot of tourists here during summer they have there’s a row of restaurants here anduh yeah typical for our first choice the the one in the restaurant said that they don’t have that yeah yeah yeah yeah win powered by T-Mobile lot of sailboats here yachs [Music] [Music] am [Music] so this is the end of our Vlog and look umak yeah especially Church sat yep so that’s our tour of pan and Rin which are part of the istria estria peninsula Pula till our next Vlog ciao
