Châteaudun Castle is an impressive medieval fortress situated in Châteaudun, in France’s Centre-Val de Loire region. Perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Loir River, the castle exemplifies both medieval and Renaissance architectural styles. Originally constructed in the 12th century by the Counts of Châteaudun, it evolved over the centuries from a defensive stronghold into a grand residence, especially during the 15th and 16th centuries under the La Trémoille family.
