6:50 The verse you quoted does not say the word tree anywhere. Hanging by rope from a tree was not an ancient practice. In the ancient world to hang oneself meant to throw themselves on a sword. So both verses say basically the same thing. Judas hung himself on a sword and his bowels gushed out on the ground. Please pin this comment to the top as a correction. Shalom.

It is the same place. They were buried there because they repented and no longer saw themselves above the gentiles. Caiaphas put his interaction with Jesus after the resurrection in a letter to Rome. So did pilate
To be honest, I was disappointed to hear that you came in without general permission, to an ancient burial ground/cemetery. It may be public, in terms of everyone having permission to use it but people may not be welcome to explore. I am glad no one was hurt.
It would be ironic, and fitting in my eyes, that Caiaphus may be buried where Judas died. I had thought that Judas bought land when they would not take back the silver and the Sanhedrin chose to use that land for paupers graves? Also, after Jesus died and the earthquake that was triggered at his death knocked one of the walls down in the temple. I thought that I read that, at that point, many of the high priests realized what they had done. Nicodemus was sympathetic to Jesus and, along with John as well as Joseph of Arimathea, took Jesus down from the cross and laid him in Mary’s arms. Nicodemus also provided the oils for his burial, and he went so far as to leave his position as the High Priest. Caiaphus is said to have had a miserable existence and death and, it is possible that because of that, he may not have been welcome to bury his father in the higher (status) cemetery. I couldn’t say but I might be worth checking to see who of Caiaphus’ family IS buried there and when? Never forget that Jerusalem has not stood empty for any real length of time (if ever) and they most certainly know the site and locations of all of the historically significant sites around Jerusalem. To the degree, actually, that many of the Hebrew thought very little of the Christians who came to Jerusalem in the 20th Century (1964?) to smugly tell the locals that they (the locals) 33:24 were wrong about the location of Jesus’ tomb and the Garden of Gesthemane because it was actually over here and over there. I am not wanting insult or irritate anyone but these are alll things said by a local Jew. Having said everything that I have said, and for full disclosure, I have never been to Jerusalem and have no first hand knowledge of ANYTHING in the Holy Land, the Middle East or how long some of the Middle East Jews have lived in Jerusalem. I do know of one, a local tour guide who (because he is a Jew) underwent a significant education from some of the local Christians who have been there well over 1000+ years, even through the Crusade(s) and during foreign occupation(s). They are a wealth of information and I believe their house/grounds/Monastery is located on hill just outside of Jerusalem. I think, but I am not sure, that they are Franciscan Monks. If you have any interest in talking with them, as well as the other local expert I mentioned, just send me an email (as think as the channel owner that you can click on my name to get that, as the channel owner, and I can provide you with their information. Is am certainly no expert, simply an old Christian woman who reads a lot and is very interested in the Holy Land, hoping at one point, to visit there and ramped up my studies.

Can someone tell me what might be the meaning of the word kadesh? Specifically I had a dream about the banks or bank of kadesh. I heard in the banks of kadesh and in my dream ppl were searching at the top of the bank above water and in my dream whatever they/ we were looking for was under the water. I saw a giant serpent maybe something like a giant snake and it was under the water on the bank if kadesh. The dream startled me a little bit. I had some very strange encounters following that dream. I don't know the history of tht word or place. If u know what it means can you tell me.

Have you ever heard of the Archko (sp?) volume? Supposedly it is a translation of documents from the time of Christ. If it is accurate, which I don’t think the writing are, then it is at least an interesting debate. I think some things may be considered accurate, though, if only in my hopes for caiaphas, and by making some speculations, I could see why maybeCaiaphas wanted to be buried in this field of blood.
A used book can be purchased cheaply on Amazon, and would be useful in your library of content, if nothing else.
On another note, when we visited Caiaphas’ house on many occasions when we’ve taken church groups over to visit Israel, my husband noted that Caiaphas’ house was “upwind “from this field of blood. In other words, when Judas killed himself, the aroma of his decomposition would have risen to Caiaohas’ house as a putrid reminder, not only those of Caiaphas’ household, but the governing Jewish hierarchy meeting chamber of Jesus and his remorseful betrayer.

The tomb of Caiaphas is not in that area. It has been found near a car park, and the bone box has the Name Caiaphas written on it. it had a nail in the inside of it,, all have been proven so this information is false,,

In Acts 1:18 the Greek states either 'headlong' or 'bloated'. So it's very possible that after Judas died, his body hung there for a while & either was cut down, or animals pulled it down. Either way, he showed a lot of guts!
